A story of strange love

"Daddy, I want this flower." Gaura shouted to get her father's attention who was trimming rose plant.

"No, Gaura." His father glanced at her while she pouted and tried to break the big red rose. The moment she held the stem she shrieked as few thorn pierced in her hand.

Her father threw the tools and tried to help her but she didn't let go of the stem.

"Gaura, leave it. You are only hurting yourself."

Gaura sniffed while her eyes were full of tears.

"But daddy, I want it."

"Come on. Listen to me. Let it go."

Gaura slowly opened her fingers and let go of the stem. Her father lifted her in his arms and brought her to a nearby bench. He took her hand in his and examined her wound.

"See, you didn't want to let go and now you hurt yourself. Gaura, sometime it's better to let go of the things which hurt you the most."

"But daddy, it won't hurt me it you trim the thorn." She objected while Mr Brown smiled.

"But what's the benefit. It will die in your hands."
