Caden’s POV

As Kendall passed out in my arms, fear had gripped me. I’d held her close, feeling her heartbeat erratic beneath my touch. Panic threatened to consume me as I struggled to remain calm and focused.

I had tried to reach Declan through our mindlink, but there was only silence on the other end. His walls were up, impenetrable, leaving me feeling helpless and frustrated.
