"Are you sure it's fine?" Caroline nudged Kirk's arm.

He smiled. "Yep," he said.

"But that person's been trying to call you for so long. Maybe it's something urgent?"

"No." Kirk's tone was cool.

Caroline didn't look away from him, though. Her gaze fell on Kirk's pocket, where his phone was still ringing. "I'll help you answer it," she suggested.

Kirk raised his eyes to look at her in silence before passing her his phone. She took a look at the screen to find that it was someone calling from overseas. The caller was anonymous.

After answering the call, the person on the other end of the line started talking immediately. His voice was pleasant to the ear, yet he sounded like a badass person.

"You finally answered my call."

"Hello? This is Kirk's wife."

The caller fell silent for a while before chuckling. "I see. Nice to meet you. So, you're my bro's wife."

His bro's wife? Caroline turned to stare at Kirk in confusion.

Kirk had a brother? Why had she never met this brot
