The doors opened just then, and Kirk entered the office. "You're awake," he said.

"Where were you?" Caroline turned to stare at him, her eyes full of worry. Abruptly, she noticed her toothbrush and cup in his hands.

Kirk smirked. "Why didn't you sleep for a bit longer?"

"It's already 7 am. It's about time for me to leave."

Kirk handed her the toothbrush and cup and kissed her on the lips. It was soft at first, but soon he deepened the kiss. She struggled to pull away for air.

A moment later, he finally let go of her.

Embarrassed, Caroline pounded her fists against his chest. "Are you starving or what?"

"Yes, I am." Kirk laughed, which made her blush even further.

She took the toothbrush and cup from him and rushed out of the office to freshen up.

She came back shortly after that to see Kirk sitting in her chair and flipping through the contract. She wasn't alarmed, though. She simply let him carry on with what he was doing.
