Grisella POV
'You're useless, you're not famous, hey, I don't love you, I'm leaving, I'm leaving.'
"Hahh," I woke up from my sleep. I had a terrifying nightmare just now. My eyes quickly swept over the surroundings. My bedroom window curtains are wide open; thick cloudy clouds look up there. I took a deep breath and exhaled roughly. The dream still feels real. Even when I sleep, I still feel the wound.
The clock showed nine in the morning, the air was cool, but my body was drenched in sweat. It's not fair; I forced myself to fall asleep so that I would forget everything. But why do wounds still greet me even in dreams? Pain. My whole body now feels sore and sore. I have a small bandage on my arm. I'm sure they were injection marks. I stood slowly, even though it felt heavy, I stepped into the mirror.
"Look at you now, Grisella," I said, staring at the reflection of my face in front of the mirror. My appearance was so shabby; my eyes were swollen from crying. My hair is messy again. I rarely take care of myself. I don't use skincare or daycare anymore. My mom opened the door of my room, showing me a smile, "Are you awake, dear?".
I nodded with a smile. Even if it's just a faint smile. My mom told me that she had prepared breakfast for me. The little attention that my mom always gives me. I asked my mom to wait for me at the dining table because I wanted to shower first. The sweat that wet my forehead had even weighed my hair down. I'm not comfortable.
When I have breakfast with my parents at the dining table, there is almost no conversation. Even though my parents asked me to talk. I just answered them by nodding my head or shaking my head. I don't know since when the backyard balcony became my favorite place. The forest hypnotized me. The pine trees whispered to me so that I could go in there. My eyes closely pay attention to the tree by a tree that is there.
"You're choosing which tree has strong branches so you can hang yourself tightly there, right?" said Maria. Her arrival didn't surprise me at all. I'm getting used to it. I just nodded, admitting the question Maria asked me, "You always know everything," I answered.
"You haven't given up on committing suicide yet? Are you sure of your decision for that?" asked Maria again. she sat beside me. In comparison, my eyes are still staring at the forest trees there. Is it true that suicide is a decision? I am not sure. It's not a decision, but more like I've given up hope and killed myself. I think it's the best way for me.
"Yeah, I want to end my life? That will make me very calm, "I replied, smiling blandly. I heard Maria chuckled, annoyed at my answer. My eyes are now turning to Maria, while Maria casually puts on a mocking smile at me "Come on, that's a cowardly act," said Maria. I rolled my eyes lazily.
"You just don't feel what I feel," I replied, maria taunts. My eyes exude the irritation I feel. It's true. Maria doesn't understand how I feel. Wounds lodged in my heart at this time. it is not easy to make my feelings recover and return to the fullness
"How about I say, I've been through worse things than you feel right now. But look, I'm still enjoying my life. Life is too precious to waste. Who knows what gifts you will receive in the future," Maria said firmly.
For a moment, I was silent. Indeed there are still gifts that I will receive when my life is destroyed like this. When Maria talked about skills, I thought of my novel book which I would give to Maria. "Hey, I have something for you, maybe you can say a gift," I said and rushed into my room.
I rummaged through several piles of books and documents, choosing the most suitable novel to be read by Maria. "Here it is," I said, finding the story. Then my eyes accidentally stared at my bedroom window, and I saw a glimpse of someone standing behind a tree. I narrowed my eyes to see more clearly. Yeah, someone is standing behind that tree.
I rushed back to my seat in the backyard. Unfortunately, when I got to the backyard, the person standing behind the tree was gone. I wrinkled my forehead; it seems like I could not see the wrong "who was that?" I asked Maria
"What do you mean? No one. There's only me. Who else is here?" said Maria. My heart told with certainty that I saw someone behind those trees. But if Maria didn't know the person standing behind the tree either, I wouldn't be able to say anything else. "What is that?" Asked Maria again, pointing at the book I was holding
"hah? Oh, this is my novel. Could you read it? This is for you," I handed the novel to Maria. She screamed with joy while reading the title of my book. His face looks very appreciative of my book. It reminds me of how my fans appreciate my every work. but now my fans have disappeared, even some of them may hate me
"Grisella, will you go with me tonight. You have to leave the house for refreshing. There is a café around here. It's called a lotus café. You will like it," said Gisella. I nodded in agreement.
*********
Maria said that lotus café is the only café that is always busy with visitors in this city. Although there are still a few more cafés in several places, somehow Lotus Café has its charm.
I also proved it myself, when Maria and I entered the café there was something different, I think. The design is not too fancy but more classic. All interiors are made of fine wood, seem natural. Some trees even grew, and they weren't artificial trees, more like grafted plants.
Uniquely, the smell of candles is scattered everywhere because there is a small shelf hanging on the table; that's where the candle is. What caught my attention next was the painting of a wolf, which was quite large on the right side of the café wall. Again I saw a wolf painting. Looks like the people here like the wolves in the forest there
"You better order this and this, I'm sure you'll like it," said Maria showing me the menu. I took her advice. My eyes swept back to every corner of the café room. I feel still not satisfied admiring the atmosphere of this café. The light is medium but gives the impression of a peach-orange color that is not too dark. In my opinion, because this cafe is located in the city center, that's why many visitors choose to come here.
"The woman's name is Ms. Anna; she founded this cafe" Maria pointed to a middle-aged woman who was preparing a drink at the bartender's table. From her face, she seems to have a motherly character. "Hmm, you know? Every two times a month, Anna will visit several orphanages and make donations there; she will also tour the city and help those in need, whether in terms of food, clothing, or money. That is why city dwellers are busy talking about its name. As a result, this café is famous in various corners of the city. Including going out of town," Maria told about Anna enthusiastically.
"really?" I replied, amazed. Maria again explained to me that Anna also did not have children, while her husband had died. Maria said Anna's husband died fighting for power. "You mean fighting to overpower is like fighting over land ownership?" I asked Maria.
"No, it's not like that. Like who's the most powerful. After Anna's husband lost, he fell ill. It was because the wounds on his body couldn't heal properly. I do not know. There is still a mystery behind it all, but Anna doesn't want to talk about it. I sighed, so amazed at Anna "I admire her. She's a strong woman. She can still live in one city with her husband's enemy," I said.
"Hahaha, it's already a risk for her. It should be normal for a wife to become a mate." Maria smiled. I wrinkled my forehead. I also don't understand the term 'mate', but when I asked Maria for an explanation about this mate, our chat stopped because a man arrived in my shirt and Maria.
"Hi, I'm Dennis," said the man immediately stretched his hand to me. I just nodded without holding the man's hand, that's the man Maria showed me at that time. The son of the landlord, "yeah, I'm grisella," I replied. Although awkward, Maria tried to break the ice.
"Okay, so are you comfortable staying at Mrs. Angela's house? I mean your new home, "Dennis asked me small talk. I also explained what I liked about the house. How I am very comfortable sitting in the backyard of the house. Not to mention the view of the forest that looks cool, "You're right, the forest here is soothing. Only the residents I don't like," said Dennis in response to my story
"You mean forest dwellers like wolves?" I asked curiously. Dennis nodded. I also told Dennis how I heard the wolf howling when I got to the house "oh, so they welcomed you? They are the disgusting people pretending to be heroes," said Dennis with an irritated expression.
"People? Hahaha, you speak as if they are human; they are only wild animals that live in the forest," I replied, smiling. I don't understand why Dennis should say that wolf is like a people.
"Your smile is beautiful; I think you're not good at smiling," Dennis praised me. I blushed at being praised like that by a man I just met. "You're still adjusting your body to the air around here?" asked Dennis, changing the topic of conversation
"Yeah, it's very cold here; I can't be too cold; I get fever easily," I answered with excuses even though I keep my skin from coming into contact with other people. That's why I started wearing covered clothes. If I remember, I never wear short jeans again, or even a tank top when I leave the house. It's different if you stay in the place.
Dennis also asked me to tell you about my life, as he was known to the people as the landlord's son. Even though he has another side that not many people know. Dennis loved painting. For him, image is the best way for him to feel like himself without holding the title of the son of the landlord.
********
"I'll often visit, okay," my mom hugged me warmly. Time has never passed, it's time for my parents to return home. After quite a long debate, I also accepted freely their decision to visit me every time my father was off work. Saturday and Sunday to be precise. I don't understand. Back then, why was I able to separate the house from my parents? I even have my own house. But now it feels like being alone at home makes me feel lonely.
"Okay, see you later," I said, hugging my mom for a moment. She reminded me to take my medicine regularly; my mom also begged Margaret da Maria to monitor my condition, "I already think of her as my child," said Margaret assured my mom. The breakup drama lasted quite a while, then my mom and my dad left.
As usual, I sat back down on the backyard balcony. the best place for me from this house. "I like your book, is there more?" Asked Maria, who sat beside me. I was amazed because Maria finished reading my book quickly. Maria said she finished reading my novel in just one night.
"Okay, I'll give it to you later" I smiled happily seeing Maria so enthusiastic about reading my book, I suddenly remembered some things about this city. like in the lotus cafe there is a wolf painting, in this house, there are also wolf paintings, and in some corners of the town there are also bars about wolves, not to mention the wolf's howls that I often hear lately "Maria, is there a mystery in this city?" I asked
"What kind of mystery?" answered Maria
"I often hear wolf howls, and I feel something different, you know. like the howling of the wolf calling me, am I still sane? "
"What? Hahahaha, you must have had nightmares every night", sneered maria.
"No, I didn't sleep. Besides, this house has a wolf painting, in the Lotus cafe too. And in several places, I also saw a wolf painting. What's the matter with the wolf in this city."
"Okay, not as bad as you think. This is just a legend that has been passed down from generation to generation in this city. It used to be said that before a shape-shifter clan inhabited the city. Over time, humans need more land. So the clan gave this city to humans, and humans built everything here. That is why we cherish the wolf."
"You mean the shape-shifter clan is like," I said a little doubtfully.
"Yeah, they are humans who can turn into wolves, like werewolves, you know," Maria immediately answered my doubt.
"That's impossible, they're not real, right?"
"Hahaha, I told you it's a legend. Believe it or not, we can only respect. Come on, show me your novel, "said Maria, changing the topic of conversation. My heart is somehow interested in hearing this werewolf story, there is an idea that pops into my head to make this legend the script for my latest novel, but I'm not sure about it. Were werewolves real?
Grisella POVMy eyes opened perfectly, just suddenly. I change my position to sit. My bedroom window curtains were wide open, showing a view of the forest that looked dark outside. My eyes turned to the wall clock. It was already showing one o'clock in the evening.I catch my breath. Somehow I jerked out of my sleep. I forgot to close the curtains on my bedroom window; to be more precise, usually, my mom will close it when I fall asleep. But this time, of course not, considering that only Maria and I are in this house right now."Now, I have to do everything by myself. That is why you have to enjoy your life when you are having a hard time". I got out of bed, intending to close my bedroom window. My hands stopped closing the window curtains when I vaguely saw someone behind a large tree. I tried to see more I clearly "what is human?" I said to myself. I rushed out of my room to the backyard of the house. I'm sure I saw someone leaning ther
Whenever my eyes open when I wake up from my sleep, and when my nasal cavity is still breathing in, I feel tight. I'm more comfortable in my sleep. I felt no pain, sorrow, or disappointment. But when I woke up, I remembered everything again.Everyone told me, 'hey Grisella, you're going to be fine, everything will pass.' Yeah, I know everything will pass, but no one knows how hard it is for me to fight with the time that feels like a long spin. Fighting second by second, day after day that makes me have to swallow harshly every time that disappointment comes"Where is Dennis today? why doesn't he visit" I complained to maria."You miss him now?" Maria smiled mischievously at me,"Don't get me wrong, okay, I'm just bored.""So if there's Dennis, you're not bored?""At least there is Dennis and Hendrik in this house, that's better," I replied"He went to see his mother. Every end of the month, it's always like
Grisella POV"Did you have fun while I was away?" asked Dennis to visit my house. As usual, I sat on the balcony of the backyard. The pine forest that looks cool managed to hypnotize me."Hey," I said, smiling."Where is Maria?" asked Dennis sitting beside me"Make apple juice for me. You've come back from your mother's place? "I asked"How do you know I visited my mother?""Who else. Of course, maria, "I replied."Okay. I also heard from Maria you have fun without me, "Dennis said to me."As expected, but I'm not having fun. To be more precise, I caused trouble. A massive problem for my family and me, "I replied wistfully."So you're a bad girl, huh?" sneered Dennis. Suddenly made me laugh, embarrassed at his words."Hey, you just came?" Maria asked, putting my apple juice on the table"Yeah, I just came," replied Dennis"Oh, I only made two juices. Okay, this is for Grisella and yo
Maria POVI sighed heavily, seeing Grisella, who mostly sits in the backyard now. She was also used to sleeping with her curtains open. The forest has become an exciting sight for her now."These apples are sweet," I said, eating the apple that my mom put on the dining table."Where is she?" my mom asked after washing the dishes."Where else if not the back yard.""Maria, I didn't expect her to meet one of the werewolves in there. Will Grisella be all right?""Mom, Grisella didn't do anything. So what are you worried about? She will be fine. ""She's really curious about the werewolf now.""Hmmm, I didn't expect it to be this fast. I thought the werewolves didn't want to show their form to just anyone. Even though Grisella is still new here. ""I don't want Grisella to get into trouble. she's already suffering enough for the problems she faces." My mom sighed heavily. I got up from my seat and approached
^^Grisella POVEver since I met the werewolf named Nessa, I had an uncertain feeling. There is something that pulls me into the forest. It felt like the world was so vast. I now live in a house, and it turns out that my life is side by side with people I thought were unreal. If I consider all the troubles I have been through, especially when Delon is engaged to my enemy, I feel that what I'm going through is just a dream. Even though they are all facts that I have to admit. Then how can I meet a creature that is almost impossible to be real? But I met them in front of my eyes."Why do you hide about them to me? They are real," I protested to Maria. I felt stupid myself for thinking werewolves weren't real. I felt stupid for believing that the werewolves were just legends."What's in it for you know they are real. Besides, you said yourself that you didn't trust them. I only support your thoughts, "Maria replied evasively. But what Maria s
^^Grisella POVI woke up from my sleep because I heard a sound that was quite noisy. I changed my position to sit, rubbed my eyes roughly, and immediately looked out my bedroom window. That's when I saw an unpleasant sight. There were already a lot of people working on things in the backyard. I stood up to my bedroom window. "Oh shiitt," I cursedI immediately ran out, until I unconsciously hit Margaret, who happened to pass by "Oh dear, what's wrong?" Margaret asked me. I caught my breath, "Hiuuff, what's out there? What are they doing?" I asked. Margaret frowned. She paused for a moment, "Grisella, did you forget? You asked me to make a fence in the backyard, right? So they made it for you," Margaret replied. I shook my head, not to accept it."No, you can't do it" I ran back to the backyard then shouted, forbidding the men to build a fence. I screamed hysterically as loud as I could for them to stop their work. "You all hear? I don't want you to build that fe
^^ Grisella POVThere is a different smell that smells to me, like something moist. I don't know. I find it hard to explain. That scent made me open my eyes. More precisely, I forced my eyes open. My eyes felt heavy, and when I managed to open my eyes, my head was throbbing very painfully "Oghhh," I complained, holding my head. With difficulty, I change my position to sit. I wake up in a room that is foreign to me. My eyes greeted my surroundings. This is a place I've never been to before. I just realized that my body now only wears a tank top; my right arm is bandaged. I briefly recalled what had made my arm wrapped like this. The man named Nathan hurt me until my arm was bleeding like this."Is there someone here?" I asked in my low voice, my throat hoarse. I don't know where I am now, and I still don't know who helped me. "Hey? is there someone? "I said again. I'm not sure someone heard my screams that low. I let out a heavy sigh, confused at the situation I
^^Grisella POVMaybe I want to know something, but the universe hasn't allowed me to know that. Maria's reaction when she heard Nathan's name was still a question mark for me. Maria was surprised, and her eyes flashed an expression of disbelief in my story, but no words were spoken from Maria's mouth. I mean, She didn't say anything, why was She surprised. Nor did Maria ask anything about Nathan. Maria just sighed when she heard my story, and she walked away, leaving me.Like right now, me, Maria and Dennis were playing cards. Even though I was lost in curiosity, Maria chose to act normal, as if nothing had happened "you guys lose again, hahaha your's bad in this game," said Maria, belittling Dennis and me"Ahhhh, I'm done," I said tiredly. I'm getting tired of playing cards. Dennis and Maria sighed in annoyance because I just walked away and chose to sit in the backyard. It feels like going into the forest for me is now addictive. I want to hear that man's voic
Nathan's gaze still gave me chills; Nathan's dark aura surrounded the entire forest. His arrival made the battle stop for a moment. "Why do you have to bother attacking me, do you not realize I am a werewolf who is different from you?" said Nathan, grinning. Noah stood behind me with one hand tightly gripping mine, but his eyes were only focused on Nathan."This is too much Nathan, I think you will return to the way you should. Killing humans for your sake like this, aren't you afraid the Moon Godesss will curse you until you can't be reborn." Noah growled in annoyance. Nathan was utterly unfazed by Noah's words. he smiled slyly and even grinned arrogantly."I hate you," I grumbled angrily. Everything that happened to me was inseparable from Nathan's actions. Every day I was living like hell because of Nathan's doing. I lost a lot of things, and my wor
Even though my footsteps were heavy, I slowly opened the door to the house. Eliz assures me that she won't hurt Maria. Eliz only wants to help me bring Maria to the Mansion if Maria puts up a fight. My legs trembled into the house; suddenly Maria came out shouting, "Anna, have you ... ?" Maria's words stopped when she saw me entering the house.Maria is stunned to stare at me closely, her eyes perfectly rounded with a worried expression on her face. I held my hand, holding the vibration in my body "Grisella?" Maria said in a trembling voice. I swallowed roughly saliva "Maria, I found you," I said. I try to smile, but I can't do that. the fact that Maria killed Patricia makes me too hurt and disappointed"Who told you I was here?" asked Maria. Maria's tone still trembled. I took a deep breath "Maria , come with me to the Mansion," I said firmly. Maria shook her head wistfully "I don't want to," said Maria shouting. Maria suddenly cried, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Grisella POVI can no longer pass the night soundly. A good night's sleep is hard to get. At last, I greeted the afternoon with swollen eyes. Strangely, I didn't feel sleepy at all. It's the heaviest burden I've experienced compared to losing my job. Eliz came to bring breakfast for me, with Eliz coercion I finished my breakfast. "Today we go to my house. I want to find Maria "I said.Eliz stunned "you want to catch Maria yourself?" asked Eliz. I nodded my head firmly "I know the punishment for Maria has not been determined. But, I really wanted to talk to Maria. I will tell this to Noah. Eliz, I'm tired. I mean it feels like enough of the people around me have died. I don't mean to feel sorry for Maria, but I feel like this burden is getting harder and harder for me. Seeing people close to me just die, "I said wistfully.Eliz just nodded her head in agreement with what I said. Believe me, and I already feel
Grisella POVI stood there, stiffly in front of my bedroom window. This fact is too hard for me to accept every memory I had with Maria flashed through my memory. I do feel something is strange about Maria, but I didn't think so far. Why did Maria get into the dark and do the wrong thing?"Hey, I've received news from my members. Claudia is fine, and it looks like Maria hasn't returned to the house either. Margaret also never went to that house again, Claudia and Hendrik at the house, "said Noah, giving me information."Thank you" I replied briefly. My eyes are still staring out the window. I ignored Noah even though I didn't mean it that way. Noah came up to me and hugged me from behind "are you okay? thank you for helping me find out who killed Patricia. This is like a destiny line, if you are not present in my life, maybe forever I will not know Maria who is involved in all this, "Noah said to me with such
Grisella POVWhen I got to the Mansion, I focused solely on healing the wound on Eliz's arm. Even though Eliz told me everything was fine, I still felt anxious. I just feel guilty. Johan also took good care of Eliz, "Where's Lilia?" eliz asked me. I glanced around with my eyes. I almost forgot about Lilia. "Noah took the woman to the common room. all gathered there "Johan said to me."We go there too, come Grisella. today we have to find the answer we are looking for "said Eliz firmly. I nodded my head, but for some reason suddenly I remembered Claudia and Maria, who were at home. I don't think I told Maria that David was dead. I was busy thinking about Delon at the time. Besides, I didn't meet Maria at home either. "Grisella? What is wrong? why are you daydreaming Come on, let's go "Eliz said, awakening me. "Oh okay," I answered, gasping.Eliz and I stepped so quickly into the standard room. The space that N
Grisella POVThe awaited time has come. I walked beside Eliz when I went to the place Abigail said. At dawn, they had already checked the area and confirmed that this was where Rogue would hunt. "Are you sure you can do this, Eliz?" I asked on the sidelines of our trip. Behind me, Dori and Jasmine looked cool, chatting with each other. We intended to spread fake news first, and when Sore came, Eliz brought another member undercover to catch Lilia."I am sure. are you worried about me? at first I had doubts. But Nessa came to see me. She apologized to me, Nessa also assured me that what I was doing was the best way to help David and Delon" Eliz smiled at me. I sighed with relief "Nessa also came over to me. I think Nessa is a mature person when she's good. I hope she will always be nice to me, "I said."How about you? Are you okay. advice from me, don't let you mentally falter, Grisella. the enemy will read yo
Grisella POVAs per my wish to trap Lilia, I gathered a few people in the standard room. Thanks to Noah's help, they all listened to my plans. There is some debate going on about my plans. At that time, attending the living room were Abigail, Albern, William, Jasmine, Dori, Eliz, me and Noah. I honestly hope Kayla and Nessa are also present at the meeting. But they don't exist. Nessa must still be mad at me."How can I be sure of the plan of Luna who even wants to break the neck of her own people", William said to me on the sidelines in our favor. I growled with the look on William's face. "William, can you not cause trouble?" Albert snapped irritably. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. "It's okay Albern. William, you look smart. You should be able to understand th
Grisella POVI chose to go to the library. I walked to the corner, hidden behind the bookshelf. In a corner, without being able to be seen by the library visitors, I cried. I curl up and rest my head on my knees. This is where I poured the sadness I felt. I was annoyed that I couldn't do anything for Delon. The look on Delon's face who begged me, so that I would go to save myself from Lilia, was still in my head. Even then, Delon was not aware that he was facing a werewolf and ferocious wild wolf. Why did Delon have to go and leave regrets like this to me? I have no intention of being cruel to Delon, even as time goes by, my resentment towards Delon starts to decrease, I am indeed weak. During this time, I always thought of other people without thinking of myself.
Grisella POVThings were getting messy. Denis's death has put me down so badly. Now Lilia got Delon killed before my eyes. Even David was gone. I was pensive with all this pain and loss. My eyes are also tired of crying. I just realized, the more power I get, the more responsibility and pain I receive.I leaned back on my bed, Eliz, who fell asleep on the sofa with her eyes melting away. Likewise with me who stared at the view outside the window. Cloudy sky and drizzling rain. The wind blew wistfully as if mourning the death that had occurred. I let out a heavy sigh every time my tears were about to come out. This pressure is getting mounting."Even he is still t
