Chapter Five
Darkness enveloped everywhere like a curtain and not even a single iota of light could be seen, it was the type of darkness that swallowed every detail leaving nothing but emptiness to the eyes except…on human eyes that is.
Khary glared at space as his red eyes shone ever so brightly, the darkness not even close to dimming its maleficence. He growled deep from his throat like an animal as he tried as much as he could to break off the chains that bound him.
“….ah!” Khary gasped as his powers which he had wanted to use and shatter the damn chains were enforced back at him.
He roared in rage as he went insane the next minute, pulling and dragging at the chains with all his strength. Even after hours he still was at it, continuously trying to break free from this prison…just like before back then.
‘I have to get back to Isdis, she might be in danger!’ Khary thought as he put all his mind into breaking the damn chains.
It was then that the door opened and someone came in, even with the dense darkness Khary could still make out all the details of the intruder.
Blazing red hair and eyes like his, a beautiful figure of a well grown lady and the fierce stance of a warrior that amplified her entire aura. Khary did not dare underestimate this person and studied her from a distance like a snake studying a possible problematic prey.
“Now calm down prince boy, I ain’t your enemy after all, in fact am your big sister!” The red haired girl suddenly said with a huge smile on her face as if welcoming a lost comrade after so long.
Khary: ???
“Might you repeat?” Khary muttered lowly as if ashamed of himself.
“Eh? Wait, you still speak like that?! Dude what year are you in? Don’t you know that languages have evolved?! Stop using those stiff methods of speaking like those oldies from dad’s council or whatevs” The red haired girl said.
Khary was silent, having been locked in the castle for more than 20 years now he knew no one other than Isdis and no other language other than that which Isdis spoke with him which was normal as communication was the only way of learning languages after all.
The issue was that, Isdis was also just in the same situations as him and only learnt her languages from her teachers and books. This meant that only the very formal and ‘ancient’ language was what they knew as it was deemed necessary for Isdis as a princess and for him, since Isdis was the only one who had ever spoken to him he learnt it naturally.
Khary kept silent as he stared on at the lady in front of him, she was easy-going from her actions now but he knew better than to stupidly feel comfortable around her. With the kind of aura she was emitting…she was definitely a deadly person.
“Sigh, I see you don’t believe me which is only natural but anyways come with me” The girl said as she walked out.
Khary was a bit stumped on how the girl expected him to walk with her on chains then he noticed that he could move around with the chains to his shock.
In a panic he screamed as he ran after the girl-
“What about her highness?! My lady?!” Khary screamed looking like he was ready to devour the red-haired girl whole if she didn’t say anything.
“Calm boi, you’ll soon see ‘your lady’” The girl giggled as he led a paranoid Khary onward.
Khary followed the girl as they walked through the huge castle that simply had no ending to it, if they were simple humans, then their legs would have given up on them from the sheer speed and distance they had to travel and most especially for Khary who had top walk with heavy chains all around him but he did not as much flinch at all.
‘I thought that all that time locked in the human world would have made him rust but he’s still as sharp as ever. As expected from a royal blood, my blood!’ The red-haired girl thought.
“By the way my name is Samantha so you don’t end up renaming to ‘the red lady~’” Sam said dramatically with laughter.
Khary just stared at her as they walked ahead with the everyday gaze you give to trash that failed to impress you.
“How cold~” Sam said with a pout as they went on.
They went on to the never-ending castle and finally arrived at their destination. Samantha held a big smirk as she gave the wooden door a good shove, opening it and leading them to an entire family all seated on thrones.
The room was huge to say the least and was decorated with different decorations, statues, paintings, etc. The lightning was very dim giving the room a feeling of an awakening evening and the surroundings were cold.
Beside the thrones was a huge red curtain that covered whatever that was behind the thrones. The people all had royal clothes with an insignia which Khary guessed was the royal’s family’s insignia. Khary did find it a bit strange how the King and the rest of the family had their crown off leaving only the Queen who had hers on but decided to forget any unnecessary thoughts.
Sam bowed respectively as she reported-
“Father, Mother, Princes and my fellow Princess, I have brought him~ the one who we for so long seeked!” Sam said with glittering eyes.
After her salute she walked towards the family, climbing through the stairs and to the throne room she saluted her father while she gave her mother a kiss on the hands only to notice how it was visibly trembling making her smirk knowingly as she took her seat.
Khary stared at the sight in him and found himself sweating buckets at his situation, he had never ever felt so much oppressive energy being emitted all his life. It made him feel like his life was no longer in his hands and sub-consciously he started releasing his murderous intent towards the group as he stumbled back a bit.
‘Is there a possibility actually?’ Khary thought with heavy breaths showing just how panicked he was.
The family consisted of two boys and two girls with a grown-up male and female at the middle, the one the red-haired lady greeted as father had black hair and sparkling ruby eyes just like Khary. Their resemblance was so striking that Khary seemed more or less like a younger clone of the male.
The lady had beautiful, golden hair that glimmered and lovely green eyes that were glistening with tears, a valiant male with golden hair and red eyes and the other having his father’s hair with his mother’s eyes.
The other female apart from Samantha had lovely auburn hair and gray eyes with an ice cold expression that was more stoic than a statue’s.
The man in the middle whom Khary assumed King was looking at him with a perplexing gaze filled with nostalgia, care, alert, sympathy and even though very hidden- love. The Queen however was more expressive as she was tearful and her entire expression only expressed love and anxiety.
The golden haired male stared at Khary unimpressed with a cold look on his face as one has when looking at an intruding personality whilst the black haired one looked unto Khary with a gentle smile that looked reminiscing.
The female had a stoic appearance that only gave off unimpressed vibes and a person who couldn’t care less and last but not least was Samantha who acted fondly with him.
‘So that’s the royal family’ Khary wondered in awe when he suddenly went on high alert, the queen suddenly leapt at him!
Hello everyone! After today and tomorrow's update I'll try to be updating at least three times in a week with minimum of two days a week! Thank you!

There wasn’t a single exchange of words, there was not a change in expression of either of the duo and only the soft whisper of Isdis could be heard as she commanded. “Downwards” And without a single hesitation, Khary let go of the princess. Isdis parted her eyes and was greeted with the sight of a homely barn, in an instant she gasped as she jolted upwards in shock. “Khary…!” “I am here my lady, don’t be anxious for I am here and will forever be at your aid throughout my living” Khary said with a hum while placing a cup of brewed herbs before Isdis “What is it with you, I only required an answer and not an oath” Isdis said tiredly while taking up the herb and sniffing it curiously “What is this?” “Jasmine flowers, helps keep the body warm and quite delicious” Khary explained like a professional chef “Hmm, where are we?” Isdis asked again while glancing around as she sipped her tea “Delicious” she muttered “Is it not? We are on an abandoned barn in the far mountainous regions of the Kingdom of Florence, just like your map stated that we should be in” Khary said “You flew all the way to this location? Are you not weakened?” Isdis asked worriedly “Indeed, I was overwhelmed with tiredness as I stopped at this sit
