Present day:
It was a bright Monday morning when Becky woke up in her bedroom at 5:30 a.m. She wore a light blue nightgown and rushed out of her bedroom to tidy up the house. She knew that it was the first day of school, and her younger stepsister, Mia Adams, was going back to college.
Stepping into the living room, Becky swept it and went outside to sweep the entire surroundings too.
Through with her work, she went back into the house and resumed mopping everywhere.
Six months had passed since she lost her parents. A tear slipped from the corner of her eye, and she hastily wiped it off as she worked.
Becky finished mopping everywhere to make it look neat. Then she discarded the bucket and mop in the laundry room before going to the kitchen to clean it up and prepare breakfast for her younger sister.
Becky knew that her stepmother and stepsister would soon wake up from their sleep, so she hurried to finish the cooking.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Gina Adams, a 39-year-old woman, woke up in her bedroom upstairs. It was the first room given to her when she initially married Mr. Leo Adams.
She yawned and stretched as she carefully sat up in bed. Looking around her bedroom, she felt like the madam of the house again.
"Hmm... How time flies," she said, dropping her legs down from the bed and standing up.
Mrs. Gina wore a long white nightgown and her slippers that were beside the bed. She knew that it was school resumption day, and her 14-year-old daughter, Mia Adams, was going back to college.
It was 7 a.m. sharp in her room. Mrs. Gina then went downstairs to the living room to inspect the house, wanting to know if Becky was through sweeping and mopping the entire mansion to look neat like she had ordered her to.
Stepping into the living room, Mrs. Gina saw that Becky had cleaned everywhere. A satisfactory smile curved up her face, as she intended to get her revenge by punishing Becky too.
Walking up to the dining table to have her seat, Mrs. Gina waited for her daughter, Mia Adams, a 14-year-old girl, to step out for her breakfast, just before the school bus would arrive.
Meanwhile, Becky walked out from the kitchen and saw her stepmother in the dining room.
She came out to find out if her stepsister Mia was ready to have her breakfast.
Upon seeing her stepmother seated on the dining chair and glaring at her, Becky quickly greeted the older lady, "Mother, good morning."
Mrs. Gina swiftly turned to face Becky, her blood boiling hot at hearing Becky call her "Mother."
She rushed up to meet Becky and landed a hot resounding slap on her left cheek. [SLAP!]
"How many times have I warned you never to call me mother again in this house? Do I resemble your late mother?" Mrs. Gina questioned, glaring at Becky.
"No, Mother... I mean, Ma," Becky replied, sobbing, while Mrs. Gina glared at her again.
She released Becky's shoulder that she had gripped tightly and questioned her, "Have you prepared my daughter's breakfast? Or do you want Mia to be late for school today?"
"No ma, I have prepared Mia's breakfast," Becky shakily replied.
Mrs. Gina's eyes narrowed at her before she moved away and sniffed her palms that she had used to hold Becky.
Mrs. Gina hated Becky's scent as she smelled like apples. She immediately went into the kitchen to wash her hands off Becky's fruity scent, as she felt irritated to be reminded of late Mrs. Zoe.
Becky looked like her late mother and smelled like her too, and Mrs. Gina hated that.

Meanwhile, Mia stood up on the balcony upstairs and saw when her mother had gripped Becky by her shoulders and delivered a hot resounding slap on her left cheek. The sound of the slap reverberated around the living room and shocked Mia. She just stepped out to walk downstairs.
Mia knew that her mother hated Becky, as Becky had enjoyed the luxury of their late parents' wealth. She knew how her late father loved Becky and the late Mrs. Zoe.
Mia wore a blue school uniform with her white stockings and black shoes. She was carrying her black school bag on her shoulder. She carefully descended the living room stairs, stepping down to have her breakfast as her school bus would soon arrive.
Mia was not ready to say "sorry" to Becky, so she looked away and walked up to one of the dining room chairs to sit down and have her breakfast.
"Good morning, Mom," Mia greeted her mother before sitting down. She was a dark-skinned 14-year-old girl, while Becky was 17 years old.
Mia resembled her late father very much, and she knew her mother had told her the whole story of how Becky's mother had begged her then to agree to marry Mr. Leo Adams.
Mia had witnessed how her late father had treated her mother and was not happy with it. Her mother was treated unfairly while Becky and her late mother were treated like queens. Becky was also the apple of their father's eye.
Settling in her dining chair, Mia kept her school bag on the next chair beside her. Her mother stepped out of the kitchen and glared at Becky, asking her, "What are you standing there doing? Haven't you prepared Mia's breakfast yet? Get lost into the kitchen and dish it out now, before I break your head!"
Becky's brown eyes welled up with hot tears as Mrs. Gina yelled at her. She quickly ran back into the kitchen and served Mia's breakfast because she didn't want her stepmother to discipline her.
Sobbing, she dished out the delicious noodles and fried eggs onto a red flat plate. She then placed it on a white tray and stepped out of the kitchen to serve it on the dining table in front of Mia.
Mrs. Gina sat there silently, knowing that she had to live with her guilt of killing her best friend and their husband.
"If only I had known, I should have signed the divorce documents and left Leo when I still had the opportunity too. Becky resembles her late mother, while Mia also looked like late Mr. Leo Adams too," Mrs. Gina grimaced, remembering when Mr. Leo was still alive, he usually fed Mrs. Zoe in her presence at the dining table. He pampered Mrs. Zoe in front of her, whenever they had their breakfasts together in the dining room, before she was sent to live outside the mansion.
Mrs. Gina wished that she had peacefully signed the divorce papers and left. When Mr. Leo had offered her a divorce after she first quarreled with Mrs. Zoe. But she stubbornly refused to leave because she loved Mr. Leo so much and wanted him as her husband too.
Now she had killed the driver to hide her secret for life. She lived in the Emerson housing estate with her daughter and Becky, and feared what the news would be like when it got out to the public.
Only the billionaires lived around, and Mrs. Gina was not ready to go to jail yet.
Mrs. Gina sighed heavily, and Mia asked her, "Mom, what's the problem?"
"Hmm, nothing, Mia. I am fine. What's Becky still doing in that kitchen serving your breakfast? Does she want me to storm into that kitchen and break her head?" Mrs. Gina questioned aloud, her anger boiling.
Becky swiftly rushed out of the kitchen after hearing her stepmother's statement.
Walking up to the dining table, Becky served Mia's breakfast while Mia adjusted her seat closer to the dining table properly to resume eating.
Becky moved aside, wondering if she could ask her stepmother about the need for her to resume her tutorial classes. She really needed to further her education to become a nurse.
Standing beside the dining table, Becky paused and met Mrs. Gina's irritated gaze.
"What are you standing there doing again? I thought I asked you to leave?" Mrs. Gina queried.
"Ma..." Becky shuddered in fright and moved backward a little toward the kitchen door.
Mia smiled and ate the delicious cooked noodles and fried eggs on the dining table. She knew that she didn't know how to cook, and Becky was forced to learn how to cook by her mother.
Becky stopped beside the kitchen door and thought about trying her luck to plead with her stepmother on the need for her to resume her lessons.
"Ma... It's about my tutorial class for the university entrance examination that I have spoken to you about?" Becky began, shivering and fearing her stepmother's wrath.
Mrs. Gina stood up from her dining chair, moving it backward and stepping out. She yelled, "I told you that you ain't going to any university! How did you graduate as the best in your class when you cannot understand simple English at home? Just get out of my sight now before I give you another hot slap!"
Mrs. Gina glared at Becky, who sadly went back to the kitchen door and stopped, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
Becky paused at the kitchen door, as she didn't want to give up on trying to beg her stepmother. She had graduated as the best in her school, and if she had known, she could have accepted the school scholarship program that was offered to her then. But she thought her father had better plans for her.She turned and begged Mrs. Gina again, “Please, Ma, I really need to write the university entrance examination to gain admission into any university.”Mrs. Gina growled, “And who will sponsor your school fees, Becky? Did you forget how your loving father cast me and Mia away? Well, in case you've forgotten, let me remind you that the money that I'm using to feed you now is the money that I'm supposed to use to pay the previous old maids that I have sent away. There’s no money in this house, and I cannot take my business money to sponsor your education fees at any university. Why am I even explaining all this to you? Just get out of my sight now! Before I break your head!” Mrs. Gina shouted
Becky nervously replied, “No, ma. I've checked the kitchen cupboards and there's no foodstuff there.”Mia frowned as she was hungry and asked, “Why didn't you speak up this afternoon?”Becky stared from Mia to her mother in shock, as she had been helping Mia with her school assignments. Mia was acting nice and friendly with her, but once she saw that her mother had arrived home, Mia would change and start acting rudely, mimicking her mother's toxic behavior.Mrs. Gina sighed, “Hmm, and you sit down here with Mia, watching television. Didn't you know that you were supposed to come to my shop at the marketplace to ask for money to refill the house with foodstuff and the things you will need to prepare our dinners for tonight, or did you expect us to starve because of you tonight?"Mrs. Gina glared at Becky in a cold voice. Becky fearfully replied, “No ma.”Mrs. Gina's eyes narrowed at Becky as she opened her purse, brought out some new cash notes, and counted it first. She said, “Here’s
Becky then found a taxi, and she entered into the back seat and told the taxi driver her destination, “To the Emerson estate.”The taxi driver replied, “Okay.” He started the car and drove ahead as Becky was the only one seated in the cab, arriving at the Emerson Housing Estate gate entrance. The taxi stopped while Becky paid for her ride before she alighted from the taxi and rushed into the estate gate, running home speedily. The estate security men stared at Becky and wondered what was chasing her again, as they knew her.One of the estate men said, “She's a gorgeous young lady, and she mostly runs about on errands after her parents were gone.”The others kept quiet and continued with their job, as there were four security men there.Becky finally arrived home in front of her late father's mansion gate, and she banged heavily on the gate, calling out to Nathan.Nathaniel quickly approached the gate from within, pulled the small gate open, and asked her, “Why are you banging on the ga
Nathan dragged Becky outside from the mansion, and she sobbed and begged him, "Please, sir, don't throw me out. I don't have anywhere to go too, please, Nathan..."Becky cried, and Nathan replied, "I'm sorry, small madam, but I cannot help you now. You have to leave this house."Nathan was also worried as he didn't know what Becky had done. He had seen her when she returned home and ran back speedily into the house, and now she was sobbing heavily, and Mrs. Gina ordered him to throw her outside.Becky begged, "Please don't throw me out. This is my father's house. I don't have anywhere else to go, please."Nathan let go of Becky's hands and raked his short black hair in frustration. He is a dark-skinned man and was of average height.Mrs. Gina stepped out from the mansion and questioned, "Nathan! Is that witch still outside?"Nathan stared at Becky in fright and pulled the gate open as he replied, "No, madam. I have sent her outside."Nathan wasn't yet ready to lose his job, and he open
Justin stared at Jesse's face in the strip-club parking lot, and after a while of contemplating, he said, "You remember the pretty lady that we saw earlier when we were leaving the estate today?"Jesse smiled and replied, "Yes, you mean the young lady who ran away from you when you tried to approach her?"Justin glared at Jesse, but Jesse laughed and apologized, "Forgive me, boss."Justin yelled, "Jesse!.. How many times do I have to remind you to stop calling me boss?"Justin never liked it when Jesse tried to maintain the master-to-servant relationship between them.Jesse apologized, "I'm sorry, Justin, but you know that your father will be angry with me if he finds out that I am being friends with you and calling you by your name."Justin replied, "I know, and that's why I want you to call me by my name, especially when we are not at home and in public places like this. It reduces the eyes of other people on me."Jesse agreed, "Okay, Justin."Justin sighed frustratedly and said, "I
Jesse's eyes widened in shock as he saw Becky's face and knew that she was the same young lady that Justin was asking him about earlier when they were still at the club, but now she looked more battered than when he had seen her before.Jesse couldn't believe that she was the one, and Justin was seriously worrying himself about her too.Becky was still unable to speak about who had hurt her as she cried and begged Justin, "Please, sir... help me get to the estate gate?"Justin asked her, "Why?" He held her left hand closely as he didn't want her to run away from him again, but his phone continued ringing out in his black suit trouser side pocket.Jesse's phone rang out too, and Justin knew that his parents were the ones calling him. Even though they acted blindly toward him sometimes, his mother still always called him to know where he was and if he was alright.Justin said, "Wait first..." He immediately took out his phone from his trouser pocket, and at the same time, Jesse's phone w
Justin's car finally drove into the garage and parked. He stepped down from his car first and saw his mother standing at the mansion's frontage, staring at him as he walked over to the other side of the car to assist the young lady in stepping down.Mrs. Juliet was wearing a red, long, rosy nightgown, and upon hearing the sound of her son's car arriving in their compound and parking in their garage, she immediately rushed out to take a peek at who had arrived. Seeing it was Justin made her feel relieved. Her husband had traveled out for a business trip abroad to other states where he owned other mega houses, and she knew that her husband usually cheated on her, much more than Justin. But her husband, Mr. Emerson Robert, kept his promiscuous lifestyle a secret, thinking she wouldn't know. She had seen a lot of photos and more likely videos of him with some shameless young ladies who were proud to host her husband in their beds, despite knowing that he was a married man and a billionaire
Justin walked into the living room with his mother, but Mrs. Juliet wasn't in a good mood at all, and she questioned her son, "Son, just take a look at the time you're arriving home now—after 12 a.m. in the midnight!"Mrs. Juliet ranted, and Justin apologized to his mother, "I'm sorry, Mom. I saw her by the road, and I couldn't just drive past her.""Why, son? We have the estate security agency to help her out, and now with you bringing her here, that will prolong the matter and warrant more questioning and explanations. What if that young lady did something more terrible in her family home or killed someone there, and you shamelessly brought her here to us, implicating us too?" Mrs. Juliet roared out her frustration at Justin."No, mother! She's innocent and cannot hurt a fly," Justin said, and his mother shook her head as her black eyes narrowed at her handsome son."It's okay. It's already late now, and I want to go to sleep. Tomorrow, I want you to take her away from here. Or don't
Mrs Juliet still wanted to bond with her grandkids and she begged Olima and Justin to stay and not leave with the twins.Justin smiled and told his mother, "Mom, we are not yet leaving the house."Mrs Juliet sighed in relief and she took Mike and Henry around the mansion, she didn't want the two boys to leave her side. She called her husband on a phone call and showed him photos of the lovely two boys and also video calling with him.Mr Emerson smiled and told her that he wasn't aware and that he would book a return flight back to the country to come see his grandkids too.Olima and Justin stayed back in Justin's family house. They bonded together as a family and ate dinners at the dining table with his mother.Mrs. Juliet finally asked Olima if she had ever gone to pay a visit to her family house again since she left.Olima shook her head and replied, "No ma."They were eating on the dining table and Mrs Juliet spoke about Olima's stepmother. She told Olima that Mrs. Gina had been jai
Olima met with Mrs Juliet's gaze on her. She knew in her mind that if Mrs Juliet had another alternative, she wouldn't be in her office.Olima sighed and replied to Mrs Juliet, "I can understand your decision then ma. But Justin didn't want to."Mrs. Juliet frowned a little and met Olima's nervous gaze on her, She asked Olima, "Didn't you like my son? You made it look like it was only Justin who wanted you?."Olima's cheeks flame red in embarrassment and she replied to Mrs Juliet, "I did like Justin.. but.."Mrs Juliet stopped Olima from finishing her words, she asked Olima, "Tell me the truth. Are you now married? You look like a married woman and I am so scared of what I would tell Justin. I promised him that I would visit you and beg you on his behalf to come home Please come back home and forgive me in particular. I was just hard on you and I cannot explain why."Olima's face turned red as she almost sobbed, but she told Mrs Juliet, "I am not angry with you ma. I can never be angry
Two months passed after Olima and Justin reunited back as lovers, and they became a family even though they hadn't gotten married.Olima hadn't gone to Justin's house was beside hers, to see his house's interior decoration, as she was mostly staying in her own house. She has a lot of entertaining spots in her home, and they usually spend time together whenever Justin visits. They swim in her swimming pool and their twins get used to seeing them together.Mike and Henry already accepted Justin as their father, and Justin now looks healthy and has recovered from his previous slim looks. Unlike the last time that he looks unhealthy.****Jesse has not yet seen the lady of the house that Justin usually visits and even sleeps in her home every day.He only saw the maid of the house and he couldn't ask the maid any questions. One day, Justin's mother called him to return home and she thought to inform him that she had been searching for Olima and she hadn't seen Olima.Mrs. Juliet was not ha
Justin looked up at Olima's face and smiled. He replied, "Yes, I have. I owned the estate.""What?? But I didn't get to see your name there" Olima looked stunned, that she was running away from Justin's family, and she still ended up with him again."I know. I didn't put my name there, but your name is on the document and in my registry too. How about your dad's company? Don't you usually go there, or how do you cope staying here?."Olima smiled and replied, "I go there only once in a while. Mr. Luke gives me an update about the company and he's very trustworthy too. So I don't have to be there always or visit there.""Mm, I hope that you don't run away from this house before I should go to work and return. Or I shouldn't even leave at all, as I don't want you to run away from me again?" Justin asked, taking more steps to meet Olima, while their two sons kept staring at the two of them.Olima smiled and replied, "No, I won't. Where am I going to run away to?.""Do I know? Anywhere of
The following morning, Olima woke up feeling a small hand tapping on her shoulder as she and Justin were still sleeping on the bed "Mummy!" Mike screamed out as he looked shocked to see a man on his mummy's bed.Olima and Justin startled awake and woke up on the bed as they stare at the pair of blue eyes that was staring at them too."My goodness Mike! What are you doing here?" Olima asked in surprise and had totally forgotten that her two kids usually comes to her room every morning to wake her up early in the morning and she didn't usually lock up her room door too..Mike didn't responded, as he sat on the bed beside Olima on her left side and staring intently and suspiciously at Justin's face, as Mike hadn't seen Justin before, and seeing him for the first time, The little boy was wondering who Justin is?.The bedroom door pushed open again and Henry also walked into the bedroom as he wore similar white pyjamas like Mike's own.."Mom!" Henry exclaimed in shocked too as he walked i
Justin replied, "No, I am not... I am not angry with you. I am happy to see you and to be a father, and meet with you again. If there is anyone I should be angry with, Is my mother and not you."Olima frowned and Justin told her, "You shouldn't be feeling any pity for my mother, she doesn't want our happiness.""No, don't tell me that. She's your mom, she carried you for nine months and raised you all by herself. So you shouldn't be mad at her, She would have her reason, I don't know..""Hmm, You are kind" Justin smiled and walked up to meet Olima. He pulled her into a hug again to his chest as she was barely reaching his shoulder height. He said, "I know that is because you're a mother now that's why you're advising me not to be angry with my mother, but is alright, I won't, so long she doesn't come in between us again."Olima frowned a little knowing that Justin's mother didn't truly like her.Justin kissed her cheeks and said, "I do not hate my mom. I am just angry about everything.
Olima feels guilty and not being able to hear that Justin is there. She fears that he might also want to sleep there at her gate. She finally told her security man, "Is okay, Let me go out to see him. Or no, Just let him inside."Olima was worried that someone else who knew her might go out to inform Justin's mother and if truly he was the one, then there was no how he wouldn't have Jesse with him..The security man went outside to meet Justin.Justin looked at the man as he was typing on his phone and chatting with a client. The security man was older than Justin and probably Jesse's age group. He said to Justin, "Madam ask you to come in and see her.".."She has? I knew she was lying to you before., thank you "Justin stepped into the compound and saw Olima standing there in the center of the compound she stared away to her garage not wanting to stare at him as he walked up to meet her...Justin could see that she looked very maturely like a married woman.Even as the night sky had f
Olima was restless after she ran into her sitting room. She has a very strong feeling that the tall dark man that she saw earlier was Justin Robert."How is he the one that's living in the next compound? Justin? Are you sure he is the one?." Olima was worried as she knew that if truly that man that she saw was Justin, then she would be in trouble as he would find out the whole truth about her."What am I going to do now?" Olima had sent her two kids away to go and meet with Lady Eve downstairs, and though her two sons didn't want to leave her side, she had to call on their nanny to come and carry them away.Olima heard the loud knocking sound on her house gate at first, and with each passing second, she knew that the tall man was already at her house gate to confirm his suspicions and he was Justin too"Oh! What am I going to do now? Should I send Lady Eve to go and pretend that she's me and attended to him on my behalf? But Lady Eve is a black woman. Should I send Amara? But Amara i
Justin was stunned as he was standing outside in his garage and speaking to Jesse. He wanted to leave for his new company, which he had recently built, as his company was a fine art company, where he decided to try out his drawing skills and also meet with other top fine artists that were in their city.He was more into entertainment and though he still hadn't forgotten about Olima and wished to meet with her someday, no matter how many times he had gone to her company, and hired a spy to know when she secretly arrived. He was told that she hadn't visited the company for a long time now.Justin hasn't given up hope. He focused on his business and warned his mother never to speak to him about marriage and that she should adopt a grandson if she needed one.He stopped going home, after seeing that his mother wasn't yet ready to listen to him.She called him and told him that she would visit him, but he told her not to, to avoid them getting any further problems. His mother wouldn't stop
