CHAPTER 48 - NOT ALONE

Avery's POV

“Now…now, don't rush the girl,” Maya said to Amos with a frown.

“Come darling, please eat something,” Maya pleaded, handing me the spoon yet again and urging me to eat.

The way, Amos and Maya bickered back and forth, one would think they were siblings, I enjoyed the drama as I ate my food, I didn't know when all that food finished.

“Perfect, well done my darling,” Maya said delightedly, surprising me with a hug.

It felt so warm and wholesome, I didn't know when last I was hugged like that, I don't think I was ever hugged like that, and so the tears rolled down uncontrollably.

“Oh child,” she whispered, understanding why I had begun to cry.

“You must have suffered so much,” She said patting me on the back.

“It's okay, let it out,” she said and I continued to cry, I didn't know how long it had been, maybe an hour or two but soon I slept off.

“I need to go now, please take care of her,” Maya whispered as I began to open my eyes.
