CHAPTER 41 - A WAY TO CLEAR HER NAME

Amos’ POV

“The safety of the pack is most important,” I said to Jack and we discussed the next course of action.

I still felt like something was off but all indications pointed to the human and also Avery.

“I worry that the humans had some help from the witches,” Jack said after a long time of silence.

“I suspect this too, humans and witches, the worst kind there are,” I commented, their thought leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

“For the witches, I can agree but humans, not all of them,” Jack corrected me, he had always been against my hatred for humans and I didn't know why.

“Not after what Avery has done to me,” I spat unwilling to yield to him this time.

“I hope he can hear all this,” I heard Avery think, I have been trying to hear her thoughts but she blocked me out, why did she finally open it up?

“What have I done? So he didn't betray me after all,” she lamented, what was going on? She seemed to be having a conversation with someone and I could sense she was in danger.
