CHAPTER 42 - RESCUING AVERY

Amos’ POV

“My guess is that the room is laced with a spell,” Jack said to me as he put the flash drive in his pocket.

“How do we break the spell?” I asked him, still deep in thought.

“The problem is we don't know how the spell was cast,” he responded, seeming ready to give up.

“Tell the guards to try to open it again, I will watch from here,” I said to Jack as I watched intently.

Jack left to carry out my orders and I prayed it was what I was suspecting, during the war I had seen a similar spell and only the Alpha’s staff could break it, I just hoped this was one such.

“You locked us in?” Avery asked Jane with a look of surprise as she attempted to open the door.

“Yes and?” Jane replied, I never realized how foolish she was until now, she was acting like a little child.

“You don't want me to get out, that's fine but how would you get out?” Avery asked her, looking in amusement. I always thought Jane was smart but I had never seen this version of her before.
