CHAPTER ONE
“I’ve never been so glad to see someone leave,” Lois sighed.
“Look, for a moment there, I thought she was about to murder you.” I laughed.
“There are bitches, but Miss Bell is on another level. Christ Almighty,” Lois said.
We watched from the second floor window as the brunette got into the cherry red Chevy and sped off.
“Good riddance.” I said.
“Honestly.” Lois replied.
Lois and I had been best friends since I had walked into the hotel for my interview and stumbled into her bucket of soapy water. That had been four years ago. We weren’t exactly opposites, but we differed in some visible ways.
Like for example Lois was loud and a spitfire while I was more quiet and reserved. We somehow made it work though regardless of our differences.
“I call dibs on her tub.” Lois said.
I gave her a smug look, “you have to go attend to the Forsythe Heir, have you forgotten?”
She groaned, “that little shit. He’s always trying to hit on me and he doesn’t even leave tips. He also leaves the room in a complete mess every time. Only heaven knows what kind of whirlwind sex he’s having in there.”
“Only heaven should know,” I shuddered in revulsion.
Not only was Ben Forsythe a creep, he was also very overweight and was a misogynistic asshole. I pitied Lois for the fact that Ben had picked an interest in her and now always requested she be the one to clean his room.
Lois hadn’t been shy about telling me the horror stories from cleaning his room.
Suffice it to say, Ben was a disgusting pig.
“Well, I’m off to dip myself in a sunken, jet bath tub with amazing water pressure. Toodles,” I winked at her and hurried away amidst her angry mutterings.
I got to the room Miss Bell had just vacated and sighed with happiness. I had three hours until her check out time when I’d have to turn in her key. Three hours where I could soak in her tub and give myself an illicit moment of enjoyment.
I immediately locked the door before ditching my uniform and walking into the bathroom.
I tirned on the hot water and shook with excitement at the steam rising up the room. I grabbed the bottle of essential oil and poured a generous amount into the water.
Minutes later, I slid into the water and felt it soothe my tense muscles.
I groaned.
It was so amazing. But of course, it had to be amazing. This room cost an arm and a leg. All rooms in the BellaClavé were exorbitant, but these row of suits were something else.
I could feed myself for six months with the cost of this room.
I was too lost in the feeling of bliss that it took me a moment to hear someone clearing their throat.
My eyes flew open in shock and I stared at the tall figure standing before me. I immediately pinched myself to make sure I hadn’t fallen asleep in the tub and was now dreaming.
I realized too late that I was stuck in the tub. The towel was too far and before I could reach it, I’d have flashed this man all the goods. The water was the only thing keeping me decent. Or decent-ish.
I cursed myself for not making this a bubble bath.
“Hello, Vittoria.” He said.
I took a moment to admire him. Lord, but he was divine. Over six feet tall with a head full of inky black hair, sharp blue eyes, and a bone structure that rivaled Michelangelo’s greatest work.
A leanly muscled body was encased in a dark, tailored suit with a dark, silky shirt inside.
He looked like he’d just stepped off a GQ magazine.
How the hell had he gotten in here? Who the hell was Vittoria?
“I’m surprised you’re still here. Patience was never your strong suit.” He said.
Oh God. Did he think I was Miss Bell. We had the same brown hair, but that was all. What the hell was going on here?
“Come.” He held out his hand.
I gulped, waiting for a miracle to save me from the inevitable. It was clear this was some kind of sex meeting. I couldn’t tell him I wasn’t his Vittoria of course. I’d lose my job and I really needed this job.
Why hadn’t I let Lois take the tub? She’d have known how to deal with this mess.
I took the man’s hand and he pulled me out of the tub and out to the bedroom His eyes didn’t leave mine as he wrapped me up in a towel.
I couldn’t do this. I had to say something, but just as I opened my mouth, he spoke again.
“You’re far more stunning than in the photos,” he said, one big hand cupping my jaw, his thumb brushing over the bottom of my lips in a maddeningly slow move that made my legs tremble.
The man was sex personified. Just being this close to him with his scent filling my legs was making me feel a stirring at the junction of my thighs. Something I hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Thank you,” I squeaked out.
“Far more modest too,” he observed, eyes narrowing.
I froze, thinking that the jig was up,but a second later, he relaxed.
Then he took a step forward. I tensed as he entered my personal space and I craned my neck to be able to meet his gaze.
“Turn around,” he ordered.
I turned slowly, facing the full length mirror. The discordance between us www striking. While I was pale and wrapped in a fluffy white towel, he was tan and dressed entirely in black. I looked like a virgin headed for the slaughter and he looked like the devil whose altar I would be slaughtered on.
His hand wrapped around my throat lightly and he bent his mouth to my ear.
“You look like a little angel. I cannot wait to corrupt you.”
Chapter two DesireeI creeped out of the bed slowly so as not to wake up the sleeping man. When I was sure he was still asleep, I gathered my uniform into one arm, shrugged on the hotel bathrobe and hurried out of the room. At the door, I looked to either side of the hallway to make sure nobody was out and about before rushing into the stairwell. I flew down the stairs faster than I had ever done in my life. The elevator was too risky to use and so even though I was on the nineteenth floor, I ran all the way down to the ground floor where the staff rooms were, all the while praying to not be discovered. I was dead if anybody saw me doing my walk of shame. It was against the rules to sleep with a guest. But not only had I just done that, I had also literally impersonated another guest. Oh my God. Luckily for me, Des was alone in the staff room filing her nails when I rushed in. She looked up and did a double take. “Des? Where the hell have you been girl?” I locked the door behi
Chapter three Killian“What do you mean by Vittoria left the hotel thirty six minutes before I arrived?” I asked.“Well, she was at the Dashers club at the time you were at the hotel. There are Instagram videos of her doing shots.” My assistant, Alex said. I lean back in my chair, my expression carefully neutral, “if Vittoria wasn’t in the hotel room with me. Who had?”Because there had definitely been someone in there with me. A brown haired goddess that had blown mind and done a disappearing act afterwards. My mind flashed with images of her big, doe brown eyes staring up at me as I’d brought her to another orgasm. There had been something so innocent and pure and open about her. Something that should have clued me in that she wasn’t Vittoria Bell. Vittoria was an experienced escort, and she’d have been eager to take the lead and wow me with her prowess. The woman that had been in my bed last night had been content to let me lead. She had been soft and pliable and fucking perfec
Chapter four Desiree“Des, there’s someone here to see you,” one of the hotel servers poked her head into the staff room. “Who?” I asked in confusion. I didn’t have any family in the city and my only friend worked in the hotel too. Who would be visiting me? My mind came up blank. The girl shrugged, "no Idea. He’s with Gia” She said then sauntered away. I made my way to the receptionist’s desk. Gia met my eyes and winked and I understood her reason for winking a second later when a bespectacled, suited man unfolded himself from one of the waiting room chairs and approached me. The man was tall and good looking. Not as good looking as Killian Donovan, my mind supplied. I shut that shit down immediately. Killian was a mistake that would not be repeating itself. He was also in the past. There was no way on earth I’d ever run into him again. It had been a week since my unusual experience with him. It felt like it had happened to someone else a million years ago. Some times I still fo
Chapter five DesireeI whirled around to face him. “That’s impossible. You’re bluffing.” “We both know I’m not. I wouldn’t even know that date if I were bluffing.” I gritted my teeth, “what do you want?” He didn’t smile. He didn’t stare down at me with triumph. As if he had known from the beginning that this was how this conversation was going to go. I had fallen right into the shaded lines of his plan. “As I said before. I have a proposition for you.” He said, “I want you in my bed.” “Why?” He looked surprised for a moment, “it doesn’t matter.” “It does to me.” I snapped. “You don’t hold any cards here. You’re quite literally at my mercy Desiree.” I shivered at the sound of my name rolling off his lips. Even though I wanted to strangle him with his own tie, I still wanted to climb him like a ladder and hump him. What the hell was wrong with me. “I’ll pay you of course. Five thousand dollars per night.” I gaped at the sum. Oh my freaking God. Did he seriously intend to jus
Chapter six Killian Was it the audacity, or was it how her eyes met with mine? Was she intimidating me right now? How dare she??? “I hate you”!! I recalled how the hatred in her face surmounted to the most I had ever received from a woman, men?? Men don't even dare to look up at me, cowards, but Desiree , she just … “Wear your hair down”! I commanded while I walked out of the room. I could have decided on a different room, but wouldn't it be perfect to remind her as a torture, it was fun for me, but I knew it was going to be the most annoying thing to her. I wanted her and that was it, there was no other way around it. I walked gracefully out the door and decided to use the elevator, something about the stairs screams “less privileged”!!! As I was in the elevator I realised that there was still a smirk planted on my face, I was having so much fun torturing her, I mean life should be this way. Rich, And Sassy! The word might be for the ladies, but at this point
Chapter Seven Desiree I wish there were more words in the dictionary to describe how I was feeling the moment Killian or killer bee or whatever his name was, left the hotel after blackmailing me to agreeing to sleep with him, no cap the amount was breathtaking, but that doesn't mean I'm as cheap as Lois’s two dollar wig?!!!! The thought of that alone made my stomach twist with aggression, yes I was hungry but Killian's proposal when I remembered what I signed up for just amplified the hunger. “Girl this is the third time your stomach will be making that really funny sound, let's go get something to eat.” Lois teased. I looked her dead in the eyes. “Like you don't know what's going on?” I tried to remind her. “What tell me?”.. Sometimes I just want to give her a little tour in my head to make her see how many times I have thought of punching her face and pulling her hair for the kind of remarks she gives. How could she be so unserious?!!! “Don't give me that look,
Chapter Eight Desiree “Girl you seem pretty made up today, better than last night!” Lois noticed as we got dressed and headed for work. “Yeah I guess, I just needed a shower that's all” I replied, almost cold. I wasn't mad at her, I just needed that attitude to be able to put up with Killian, my bone of contention, and he is going to be there for a while. I just hope he gets tired of me sooner so I could just vanish, after all vanishing was my thing. “Hey, forget all I said yesterday, if you want to quit this, I am fully in support of it, no one wants to be taken as cheap”. Lois pulled me softly by my arms. She suddenly felt like my mom at that moment. Though Lois can be so unserious, I need a little bit of unseriousness in my life, life is complicated for me to be serious all the time. I sighed. “I have no option now, Lois at least I could use the money for my mom's surgery then maybe find something to do with the rest”. I explained to her. Not to forget that my secret had
Chapter Nine Killian The morning was quite sunny and I decided to wear long dark pants with a bold hunter green turtle neck t-shirt, I pulled my dark coat from the rack and headed out. “You are three minutes late” I called out to my driver who was barely running late. “They had some construction going on, on the highway, so I took a longer route” He explained calmly. The two external people apart from my kid sister that were so confident to talk to me were my financial advisor and Oliver my driver. I love confident people, they put me on edge. “Hmm” .. I replied. The ride as usual was silent, I already had Alex waiting for me at work, I had a few things to check out at the office and sometimes I go to the office to catch some people lacking at their work. “Are we still heading for the hotel this evening sir?” Oliver asked genuinely, I had never told him we were going there again, but I love when people catch up real fast. He is smart, I love it. “Yes…. I have some busines
