Chapter two : Christy’s Heart

It’s been six months since Alexi and I got together. I’m back at school. I got an A plus on my summer project for history. I doing pretty well in all my classes.

The council should be getting together tomorrow and they will talk about my situation tomorrow night. Tomorrow is Friday and I don’t have any classes on Friday. So I can spend the day with Alexi and Amanda. It’s s about midnight and I am finishing my Spanish III homework. Alexi walks into my office and rubs my shoulders.

“Hey there gorgeous, are you almost done?” Alexi asked.

“I’m almost done. I’ll be there in a minute is Amanda asleep?” I asked.

“Yes put her to bed an hour ago.”

“Okay,” I finished my assignment and turned it in.

I got up and kissed Alexi on the cheek. I went to Amanda’s room and kissed her on her forehead. I went into our bedroom. And as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out. Alexi got me out of my clothes and into my pajamas.

I woke up the next morning with Alexi staring at me.

“You know that staring is rude.” I said

“You know your voice is so sexy in the morning.” Alexi said.

“Thanks, I guess.”

“You’re welcome. So what are your plans for the day?”

“I’ll just clean up the house including the attic. It’s filled with things we don’t need.”

“Okay, but can ask before you throw of the things out. There are important things up there.”

“Okay.”

I went up into the attic. Put my music on and got to work. There were tons of boxes with labels on them. One boxes said Alexi. I opened it. There were baby pictures. He was an adorable baby. Amanda looks like him when he was a baby. There was an album of pictures titled Tiffany and Alexi wedding the year of 2000. I looked at the pictures. He looked happy. I never knew he was married. He never told me he was married so recently. I can’t believe this.

My brain started to spiral. What if I am the side piece. He just wants me here until his wife comes back. He’s been using me. I dropped the book.

My anger rose and I wanted to burn it all. I felt power flowing through me. My body rose in the air. I twirled and changed into the red dress and my wings grew out my back.

Alexi walked into the attic.

“Christy, what’s happening. Are you alright?” Alexi asked.

“Tell me right now why I shouldn’t burn you to a crisp Alexi Daniel Bellefonte.” I said.

“Christy, what is going on?” he looked at the floor and saw the wedding album. “Christy, I can explain.”

“You better or I will burn this house down.”

“Christy, I got married to Amanda’s Mom. We in a very serious relationship for a long time. I loved her. So after three years of dating I proposed, and we got married in June of 2000. But when she left Amanda we got divorced. I promise I would never cheat on you. You are my mate.”

I calmed down.

“Do want to go through this together Alexi?”

“Sure.”

He grabbed a box labeled council and handed it to me. I opened it and there was a book inside

“What’s this?” I asked.

“That’s the council book. Every councilman or councilwoman is in this book and every detail of what we talked about.”

I opened it. I saw names of legendary people from all over the world. It’s amazing. I kept going through the book and I saw her name. My mother’s name, Elizabeth.

“My mother was a council woman?”

“Yes she served on the council for a long time.”

“That’s nice.”

From the corner of my eye I see a box labeled crown. I go over to the box and open it. And there before is the most beautiful crown I have seen. More beautiful than Queen of England herself. I pulled it out of the box.

“Alexi, what is this?” I asked.

Alexi looked at me and his face turned ghostly white.

“Where did you find that? I thought I threw it away. Mom come up here .”

His mom came to the attic.

“Yes son?” she asked.

“I thought I told you to throw away the crown.” Alexi said.

“You know you can’t throw away the crown. You are the crown prince. Once your father retires you will become king.” His mother said.

“We all know that dad will never retire that is until he dies.”

“Alexi who is your dad?” I asked.

“Count Dracula.” He said nonchalantly.

“Count Dracula is your dad? The father of all vampires is your dad. “ I said.

“Yes, and he’s a real pain in the ass.”

“Well, Prince Alexi. I guess I’m a princess now. That’s weird. Alexi before we move on am I going to find anything else. Please let me know. No more secrets.”

“There shouldn’t be any. Not that I know of.”

“Okay.”

We finished the attic. I cleaned up the rest of the house by the time I had finished. The council meeting had started in our sub basement. I was told I was not allowed to go down there. But I needed to be there I have questions. I took down some glasses and gave them all water.

Alexi stared at me.

“What are you doing?”

“I thought you would need some water.” I said.

“Are you Christina?” An older man asked me.

He was sitting at the head of the table.

“Yes I am.” I said.

“You may sit with us for this meeting. I know you have questions about yourself and your mother and we will tell you everything we know.”

I sat on Alexi’s lap.

“ Your mother was the most powerful fairy in the realm and your father was a powerful wizard. So my dear your are half fairy and half wizard. Your fairy powers and the same as your mother fire. And your wizard powers are light.” He said.

“Wow really, that’s cool but my powers only show up when I’m either in pain or angry.” I said

“Magic responds to your emotions. Especially your strong emotions. We will help you control it.” He said.

“So who are all you?”

“I am Arthur Pentadragon the tenth.” The old man said.

They all went around and spoke their names.

“So, King Arthur what can you tell me about my mother?” I asked.

“Elizabeth was a magnificent woman. She always outshined her peers in school. When ever trouble showed its face she never backed down, she would always find a solution. I still can’t believe she is gone.”

“My father said she died in accident. But he won’t tell me any details about what happened.”

“Your mother was taken by the government the day after you turned ten. It was no accident. Your father turned your mother in. But we don’t know why?” “Arthur said.

“He wouldn’t do that. My dad loves my mom. He still talks about all the happy memories they had. I can’t imagine him doing that.” I said.

“Well that’s what Camie told us. She was on the council but resigned the day after your mother was taken away.”

“Camie is married to my dad. That witch.”

“Oh yes she is a witch.” Arthur said.

I felt my anger rise. How dare he betray my mother. I rose in the air. I twirled and I changed into the red dress and my wings grew out my back. I flew out of there. Alexi changed into bat form and followed me. I flew to my Dad’s house. I burst through the door. Dad was standing I the kitchen making dinner. I made the flames grow bigger. He backed away from the flames and fell on his ass.

“Christy is that you?” Dad asked.

“Oh yes, it’s me, Dad” I said.

Alexi landed next to me.

“All my life you told me that witches, vampires, fairies, and wizards weren’t real. You lied to me. You made me look like a fool. How could you lie to me. Was it because you were hiding a secret. You got mom captured so you could be with Camie. You were cheating on mom. You disgust me. Tell me why I shouldn’t burn this house down with you and Camie in it.”

“Because I am your father. You don’t even know how to control your magic. I can help you.” My father said.

“I don’t need your help. I have Alexi and the council. I will never forgive you. But it you want to do something for me. Leave town and never come back. And you do I will burn you to a crisp. And don’t try hiding. I will find you. I will always find you. Good bye father.” I went back home.

We went back down to the sub basement and back to the council.

“Where is this government facility. I getting my mom out of there.” I said.

“Christina, before you do that. You must train. You are powerful more powerful than your mother and you father. You might be the most powerful fairy and witch we have ever seen. But under the guidance of the council. You will grow stronger and will be able to rescue your mother.”

“How long will I have to train.” I asked.

“Six months with the witches. And six months with the fairies.” Arthur said.

“A year. I’ll have to drop out of school.”

“How close are you to graduation?” Arthur asked.

This is my last year and I’ll get my PhD in American History.” I said.

“Don’t drop out you are close to your dream. We’ll figure something out. But for now I will have Klara the witch and Laura the fairy write down some exercises you can do we shall see you soon. This meeting is adjourned.”

They all left. Klara and Laura left behind some exercises for me.

“Well that was exhausting. I’m going to go take a nap.”

“Momma.” Amanda cried.

“Oh no. Why does she always cry for me. You are her father. Why doesn’t she cry for you.” I said.

We go upstairs to Amanda’s room. I pick her up and she stops crying. I put her back in her crib and she starts crying. I pick her up and she stops crying.

“Do you want to go to Dada. Momma needs to take a nap. “ I hand her to Alexi. And she starts crying.

“Okay I get it.” I took her back and she stops crying

“She really likes you.” Alexi laughed.

“This isn’t funny. “ I said.

“Okay, you go take your nap with Amanda. And I’ll make dinner.”

“Okay.” I went to our bedroom and laid down.

An hour into my sleep I heard a knock on the door. I went downstairs and opened the door.

Dad? Officer how can I help you? “ I said loud enough for Alexi to hear.

“Hello Christina right. I’m sorry I’m going to have to ask you to leave the premises.” The officer said.

“And why is that officer” I asked.

“You are trespassing.” He said.

“No I am not I own this building and everything in this house. I bought it from the city four months ago.”

“What about this child is she yours?”

“No she’s adopted. I have all the papers in my office. Would you like to take a look.” I asked.

“Yes.”

I lead to him to my office . He looked at the paper work.

“ Everything looks great. Thank you for your time and sorry about the misunderstanding.?”

“No problem. However I would like to file a complaint. This man has been harassing me and my daughter.” I said.

“I’m your father. I’m just looking out for you.” He said.

“I told you to leave me alone. You’re scaring my daughter.”

Amanda dug her face into my chest.

“Could you please escort him of my property.” I touched the officers shoulder .

“With pleasure. I will escort him out state. As you wish. And I will make sure he never comes back.”

He takes my dad and puts him in the cop car and drives off.

I go back to our room and go back to sleep.

Alexi woke me for dinner. I put Amanda in her crib she was finally sleep. I went downstairs and joined Alexi and Delores for dinner.

“Are you feeling better dear. I heard about what happened with your dad.”

“I’m okay I guess. We just need to be careful. It seems like my dad is trying to sell me off to the government. We have to make sure we look like a normal family. Winter is coming soon and we can go outside. We can wear coats and gloves and we won’t burn up in the sun.” I said. “I don’t think we won’t have any problems with my dad for a while. The officer should be escorting him out of the state as we speak.”!

“That’s great.” Alexi said.

We finished up our dinner I cleaned up the dishes and went into our bedroom and took the pages with the exercises and went into my office. I looked at the pages on my desk. I looked at the spells Klara left me. I said the first one out loud. A sphere of light appeared in my hand. Curious to see if I could control my fire magic at the same time. I focused on my fire power and a ball of fire appeared in my other hand. Fire is another form of light. I put my hands together and a great fire arose my hands. It flowed beautifully around the room. Like a majestic dragon.

“Alexi come here you have to see this.”

Alexi walked into the room and watched in awe as my fire dragon flew around the room. It came back to me and wrapped it self around my arm. And imprinted itself in my arm. It now looks like at a tattoo.

“Wow what was that. You have a dragon tattoo. That is so bad ass. How did you do that?” Alexi asked.

“I just combined my light magic with my fire magic.” I said.

“That’s amazing.” He said. “You are amazing Christy.”

“Thanks Alexi.”

He kissed my cheek. “I’m off to bed. See in there soon?”

“I’ll grab Amanda and come lay down with you.” I said.

I grabbed Amanda out of her crib and brought her into the bedroom. We fell asleep.

I woke up in the middle night to a dark figure standing over me. At first I thought it was Alexi but Alexi was asleep next me. I shook Alexi awake without taking my eyes off the person in out room.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

He turned on the light and looked at the person standing over me.

“Dad? What are you doing here?”

“Dad? That’s your Dad? Respectfully speaking were are your manners. There is a thing called knocking. I don’t care if you are the father of vampires, Count Dracula.” I said. “Also don’t stand over people while they are sleeping, that’s creepy. “

Amanda stirred in her sleep I patted her back.

“You caught a feisty one. I like her. I might take her to be my wife.” He said.

“You can’t do that. She’s my mate.” Alexi said.

“I can do what ever I want son. You don’t want to take the crown when I retire. So I’ll make an heir with her. And have a child that will take the throne.”

“Like you would ever retire.”

“If I had a woman like her by my side. No, I mean if I had her by my side. I could retire in peace.”

I looked at Dracula in disbelief. “I’m not going to marry you. I love Alexi. He is my mate.”

“I love you too, Christy.” Alexi said.

He turned to his Dad. “Please leave.”

“I’m not leaving with out her.”

“Dad I don’t have the energy to go back and forth with you right. I’m exhausted and so is Christy. And I don’t want to wake up Amanda. Go to the guest room and we can talk about it later.”

Dracula left and went back home to sleep. Alexi held me tighter in his arms.

We woke up in the late afternoon. Dolores was yelling at Dracula.

I groaned and got out of the bed. Amanda woke up.

“Momma?” She rubbed her eyes.

“Its okay baby I’m here.”

I went downstairs carrying Amanda on my hip. I put her in her high chair and went into the fridge and grabbed her food. I fed her. Dracula walked over to me and rubbed my shoulders.

“Don’t touch me.” I said.

“I’m not done talking to you, Dracula.” Dolores said.

Alexi came downstairs looked at his father.

“You’re still here. Great.” He said.

“Yes I’m here and like I said. I’m not leaving with out Christy. Do I make myself clear.” He said.

“And I told you I’m not leaving with you. Did I not make myself clear.” I said. “ I don’t want to be your wife. From what I heard from Dolores and Alexi, you were abusive.”

“That was a long time ago. I’ve been in my castle thinking about the things I have done. I even went to counseling. I’m a better person.”

“Dracula, I can’t leave Alexi and Amanda. They are my family.” I said.

Dracula walked over to me he held me in arms I tried to get out of grip. I kicked in the balls, but he didn’t let go.

“I’ve been kicked the ball s so many times it doesn’t hurt anymore.” He said.

He moves my hair out the way. He bites down on my neck. I feel power flow through me. When he finished I pushed him away. I looked at him angrily. I slapped him.

I rose in the air and twirled in the air. My wings grew out my back and I changed into the red dress.

I hear Alexi say uh oh.

I look down at Dracula.

“What have you done?” I asked..

“Wow, you are so beautiful. I mad you mine.”

My dragon tattoo came out my skin and flowed around the room.

“I will never be yours. Your mark is void, Dracula. Now get out of my house. Before I before I burn to a crisp and make Alexi the ruler of Transylvania.”

“You wouldn’t.”

“Dad you gave her some your power and she’s already a powerful witch and fairy. She will. So unless you want to die right now, I would do what she says.”

“She wouldn’t dare.”

I flew behind him. I twirled my finger. My dragon came towards us. I stopped it a centimeter before it came in contact with Dracula.

“Don’t test, Dracula. I will end you.”

“Okay, I leave for now. But I will be back for Christina. My beautiful Queen.” Dracula said.

He finally left. There was a knock on the door.

I opened it and this walked in.

“Alexi where are you my darling?” She said.

She saw Amanda.

“Oh my sweet baby you are so pretty.” She went to pick her up.

I moved her out the way.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“I’m Tiffany I’m her mother.”

Nope, are not doing this. Get out.” I said.

Alexi came into the kitchen. Tiffany walked up to him and tried to kiss him. But he pushed her back.

“What do want Tiffany?”

“Momma!” Amanda cried

I picked her up.

“It’s okay, baby Momma is here.” I patted her back.

Tiffany looked at me. “Who is this whore?”

“She is my mate. And watch your mouth.”

“Mate?”

“Yes, my mate. Now please leave. I literally just dealt with my dad trying to marrying her. I don’t have time for you. So please leave and never come back.”

He pushed her out the door and locked it.

“Well this has been interesting day so far what else could go wrong.” Alexi said.

“Don’t jinx it” I said.

The dragon came back to my arm.
