Cody's pov
_____ "Every darn body here looks like they got a stick up their ass, what's with the freaking glares, it should be their happiest day," I said in a whisper to my friend Lou, we had sat down for like ten seconds and the glances we had gotten were provocative."Well if it's true what they say about the North then that stick is far up their asses than we thought" Lou spat out.
"And what fine asses they are" Clinton, another friend that I had sent to the North earlier before I came eyeballed one of the workers who was hurriedly cleaning the ornaments by the aisle.
"I agree," Lou said licking his lips, I knew I never should have agreed to them coming along but I needed close people around in case a shit storm tried to happen.
"How do you think your queen-to-be is gonna look like?" Clinton asked.
"Bet she's gon have a hole that deep in for days"
"Shut the fuck up Lou," I said shunning him. "That is my wife-to-be you're talking about," I said with a smirk on my face. I didn't care about the marriage, I was just here to receive my part of the deal, this was the fun part. I liked to see how miserable they looked when they offered up something they loved the most.
"Everybody is getting seated I think your bride is coming in soon," Lou said tapping my thighs. I nodded my head, things were about to get exciting.
"Remind me again how these things work?" I asked Clinton.
"I think the bride would be coming in soon," he said.
Before today, I had sent out Clinton to come and learn everything he could in the short time he was here. I had yet to ask him because we were going to be here for a while and I might figure those things out for myself. But I did need to know how the North did their things, so I could easily cajole them into thinking I would respect their tradition. As a King, I would do only what I wanted to do.
The loud trumpet or whatever funky instrument they decided to play to welcome my bride-to-be came on loudly, too loudly I tell you because it had us cringing from the terrible sound.
"Great, now there's shit music too," Lou said with a loud sigh and I chuckled.
"Be quiet mouth" Clinton said and I just couldn't help but laugh, everybody started to rise, as they walked in. I recognized Akkar, he had a frown on his face as he held my bride and it lightened up my mood to see him disturbed. This was going to get so good.
For a minute I looked around before looking over at the bride in a white dress, she didn't have a veil covering her face so I could see her stained cheeks, she was blushing so hard and it made me chuckle at her naivety.
"Wow, your bride is hot" I heard Lou say but his voice was drawn out of my head when my eyes fixed on golden eyes, that was all I could see, big golden beautiful eyes, fuck.
"Who the hell is that?" I asked, my eyes sweeping the girl behind the bride and Clinton answered.
"That's Princess Kaliya"
I repeated the name out loud letting it roll off my tongue, it was an interesting name, Kaliya. I turned to look at her again and this time our eyes met and fuck me, the way she stared at me was sexier than how I could ever stare at her.
"Why is she dressed like that? Is she some sort of disease?" Lou asked the same question that was in my head, except I didn't think someone with such beautiful eyes could be a disease.
"No, she is being made to dress like that because of what she represents"
"Which is?" I said trying to catch her gaze back but she refused to look back at me.
"Purity, they have some sort of rules here but she is not allowed near men and is still a virgin, and would die as one."
"Really? That's interesting. Princess Kaliya, that means she is also the King's daughter?" I asked.
"I inquired around and I was told, Lumi is Kato's daughter but from the information reaching me, Lumi was the deal between both regions before Kaliya was born" he explained.
I felt my demon twirl at such delightful news. The deal between the North and the South was Akkar's daughter. Was he trying to play me? I adjusted my tuxedo as I took a step forward with Lou and Clinton behind me.
With graceful stance and stride we made our way towards them on the aisle and the closer we got the more my bride's cheek tainted red and the more two men glared at me.
"Akkar," I said with a nod.
"Cody," he said through gritted teeth I almost chuckled, he brought this upon himself when he came to ask me for a favor, so he shouldn't act like I was the villain.
"And you are my bride," I said to the girl in front of me who stretched out her hand and I took it placing a kiss on the back of her hand softly.
"I'm Lumi" she blushed.
I felt eyes staring at me so I turned to make my introduction.
"Cody," I said as I tried to take the hand of the one in a burqa when I felt warmness spreading through my fingers, it was only when Lou reacted that I realized Akkar had slapped my hand away, I turned to look at him.
"Don't ever try to do that again" he said glaring at me. I straightened but still maintained a smirk. Akkar really thought he could play games with me? Not only did he try to fraud me, but he was also trying to act like a saint.
"After this is over may I have a word with you " I said as I watched his eyes go up, ahah now that was what I love to see, fear.
Cody's Pov ___________"Let us have a word, now!" Akkar uttered, trying to sound authoritative in front of his people but all I could see were his dilated pupils which appeared troubled and that soothed my heart. He then whispered something to the other man and led the way. I followed him, not because I was a puppet, but letting him remain in his reverie. Let the others think he was in charge today, I would give him that privilege.Far behind the wedding aisle, Akkar took me to a room and the instant he shut the door, my hands gripped his throat, till his old cranky skin started to redden. "Coward!" I spat on his face. "I see that the North has been doing better than I expected, how do you thank me for that?" He could not speak because I wouldn't let him, I strangled him further till it looked like his eyeballs were going to pop out from his socket. "You sought my help only to play tricks?"His claws dug into my skin causing me to retract from his neck, and he growled at me. "What d

Kaliya's Pov _____________Midnight came, but we were still not asleep. It was overwhelming, the stress Lumi had to face for a wedding. I was extremely glad I was part of this process, I wasn't going to experience it anyway, so why not soak in the moment? The first minute I tried closing my eyes to get some sleep in Lumi's room, the door opened and she squealed. "You need to see this" She dropped a dress on the bed. "You are going to be my bridesmaid."I sat up, looking at the dress beside me. "You know that is not possible. I have to stay with father all through the wedding.""No one else can take your place, Kaliya and you don't have to do much. You only have to stay beside me" she said, not waiting for me to say anything, she started to tear the wrap of the dress. "It's a burqa dress specifically made for you, no skin, all covered.""It's beautiful," I muttered, my hand brushing the fabric of the dress. Indeed no one else dressed in a burqa like me, so if I rejected Lumi's offer,
