A pinch of love

To add salt to the damage begin performed, the police walk in through the front door.

It hasn't been a long time since Chris left the house, I prayed it isn't what I am thinking.

"Hey! Did you call the police?"  Elena inquires the truth from her husband, Leonardo walked close to the uniform men who stood there gazing at us.

"Good morning officers, how may I be of help to you?"  He curiously asked, when one of the officers wanted to know if he was the father of Chris

He looks at his wife before confirming with them.

The officer related that Chris had been arrested, and he was caught drinking and driving.

Keith rushed in, he begged his father to get his brother released.

Leonardo didn''t want to, however, he told them to keep Chris locked up for a month.

Keith didn''t want that and so asked the police officers to disregard his father's instructions and get him released at once.

Leonardo left disheartened.

Elena and I impatiently waited for his return, and after, he walks in with his brother.

Elena gets emotional and ran ahead to hug him.

David pushed away and warned her not to touch him, he left to his room with Keith.

Elena held her hands together and cried.

Keith comes back to the living room, he finally gets some time to talk with me.

I was asked by him to go to the office and make sure everything was fine since he wouldn't be able to make it.

I asked him not to worry and left for the office.

Keith went to his brother's room and on the way, caught his father there.

"Yes, dad! Any problem"

He pulled him away from his path.

Leonardo laughed and wanted to know if Keith was angry with him.

However, Keith ignored and tried walking into his brother's room, when his father pulled him back to his gaze.

" Okay, I know that you're angry but trust me, everything I am doing is in your interest".

He clarified.

Keith couldn't understand what he meant, he spoke to his dad with so much anger in his tone.

He words hurt's him, but he pretended not to care.

He leaves and stormed into his bedroom.

Chris POV

After the incident a while ago, I had to drown myself in alcohol, although it wasn't the best option it was the only one my head could think of!!!.

Keith walks into my room and saw me staring at the window, my thought drove afar and if he hadn't called me back, it would have gone further, most likely never to return. 

"Bro" he pulls me by hand and saw the deplorable look on my face, I had every right to cry, but I couldn't, all my life I have always been the second, the black sheep of my family and in the eyes of the man I thought was my father.

"I am fine, let go of me".

I tugged his hands away and walked in the opposite direction as he veers to me, "you're not fine bro! You do know is okay to cry, don't try to bottle up your feelings, it will only burn you down!".

My little brother is now giving me advice, it wouldn't have hurt but finding out we weren't related, got me upset, I veered back and asked him to leave.

He took a step closer to the door and returned his eyes to me, he says and quotes " I understand, no matter what happens, you will always be my elder brother". ( Unfrozen and left the room).

It felt like my whole world had crumbled on me, who am I? What am I?". My identity was nothing to write home about, the whole year I had spent here, being matched on played back to back in my mind, to a point I took hold of a vase and smashed it to the wall, not knowing mom walked in and got Injured by it.

She lifts her head and saw the furious look on my face, mom realized any word she tries to let out must be thought carefully before reciting it to me.

"What do you want?, Better yet! Get out!".

In a fit of anger, I nudged her out of my room and banged the door to her face.

" Chris ! Open this door". Mom shrieked out, standing outside my room door.

(A while later)

A knock whirls my attention, I turned back and guess who I saw, my brother's assistant, Alexis standing in front of me.

"What do you want?". I asked in a distant tone.

"I wanna talk with you!" She affirms idling to hear my response.

"Talk to me? Why?". I had no idea the silly reason running through her mind.

Tori ran quietly for a while before returning her words to me.

(Inaudible conversation).

After the discussion I had with Tori, I opened the door to my room and veered downstairs.

I took heed of my father sitting at the dining room table, he veers and shoots a devilish smile at me.

"The unfavoured son is finally out of his room, how lovely right!".  He says trying to get on my nerves, luckily Alvin butts in before I could, I left home yet again feeling disturbed and unwanted.

The worst thing was that I had no clue who my real father, and I know mom will give me the answers that I seek.

The next morning, I walked into the living room, I wandered past a man who gazed at me delightful, mom as well noted that I paid no attention to them, she calls out to me attaining my attention, as I finally saw the strange man with her.

The man I know nothing about walks closer and hugged me, for a strange reason, I felt comfort in his arm, surprising a man I had no clue who he was.

Dad walks in after his morning jog, he lifts his head and took notice of the man that hugged me. When he veers closer,  and finally came in contact with him, dad pulled back in disbelief.

The bottle of water he held slipped out of his hands and the water spilled to the floor.

He turned to mom, who looked on and saw the uneasy demeanor, the moment we pulled apart the man veers back and saw dad.

"You!!".. dad says in shock.

"Yes me, hello Leonardo" he replies resentful to him.

Quickly father ran upstairs and locked his room, it felt like he has just seen a ghost and it made no sense to me.

"What's going on?" I asked them, attaining mom's and the man, father ran upstairs for.

Mom shoots a smile and sewed my eyes over to him, again, I had that feeling, the feeling as if I had a connection with the man, more like, was he my father? I asked myself.
