Alexis pov

We all waited for him to return, donning a sad look on our faces, what's taking him so long?" I asked being paranoid when he walks out colored in blood.

"Keith ! What happened?" He sked his brother after seeing him in such a manner. He pulls off his blood-stained shirt and told on what exactly happened the moment he was left alone with his father.

(Inaudible conversation)

After he told us his version of what exactly happened, Jason ran a sorry look on his face and said, "hope he roots in hell for the sins he has committed, no offense son!".

"None taken sir, father was a shitty dad!". Keith wears a weak smile and walked back Into his room.

(The following day)

We all packed up our bags and left after giving our statement to the police, Keith decides to stay back to fetch the ashes of his father, neither did we know he has something else planned, as we all returned home.

(noon)

The airplane docked and out of fear of my safety, Jason's decided that I stay with them at their home, although I didn't want to accept it, I had no choice too after he refused to take no for an answer.

I walked over to the guest room the second we got back in, Chris left to his and locked the door to his room, which was two rooms away from mine.

It's was passed two hours now and Keith veers in holding his suitcase on, bedside him was the ashes of his father, who he accidentally killed because of my safety.

"Hello, Keith!"

I took sight of him coming and rushed over to meet him, he runs his eyes back and asked, "what are you doing here, I thought you might have gotten home now?" He says to me.

"No! Jason sir asked I stay for a while and left when everything has been settled!". I answered back donning a smile on.

Hmm," he walks away without altering more words to me, which got me tensed.

(8:00 pm).

We all came downstairs and saw the table was filled up with a variety of food and drinks, it was a celebration of good conquering over evil, and Fabian was the evil whom we conquered.

I sat opposite the fisher brother's, on my right was David while on the other hand was Keith who shoots a warm smile at me. (Weird)

Abruptly after an hour, I left for my room, Alvin followed suit and walked in behind me.

"Hello! Alexis, how are you?" He gains my attention by talking weirdly.

"Hello, Keith ! I am fine but why are you talking in such a manner, are you okay?" I asked sensing his weird behavior not normal.

"Nothing! I just wanted to wish you a lovely day at work today!" He veered back and left the room.

Something feels fishy, Chris was acting weird but why?. Well, I think he forgets we both walk in this same company and I am his assistant, or did he?.

(At the office)

I left home and took a cab to the office, everyone there kept glaring weirdly at me, I had no idea why or maybe I had something on my face, quickly I rushed into the restroom just to find out that, there was nothing written weirdly on my face, urgh! So why the unnecessary glance at me.

My pending question got answered when I walked into my office and saw it decorated with rose Flowers and a written note that says, "come meet me at the office lounge", underneath the card it was signed by Chris.

I walked out Into the lounge and took notice of the hug smile on Keith's face, he dragged me closer and placed a kiss on both my cheeks.

"What's this for?" I asked  curiously glaring at the decorated room.

Happy birthday miss Alexis" he lets out idling to see my reaction, I donned a weak and said, "oh my goodness!! I forgot today was my birthday".

(Smiles) he smiles and handed over a wrapped gift, "here you go!".

I took hold of it and placed it aside, "I'll open it later on", he frowns at my words, when the rest of the workers at the company pushed the door open.

"Happy birthday miss Alexis" they all yelled out and wished me a happy birthday.

Surprisingly Keith decides to set tht whole day as a fun one, he seats and watched me chatter away.

After working hours, we both returned home, "good evening everyone one" I said repaying their attention on us.

Jason smile and reciprocates with his word, then Chris walks out from the kitchen and sewed his eyes on me.

He pins a weak smile and walks away to his bedroom, "please excuse me" I said and walked away after giving him a head count.

I locked myself in the room, somehow I had this urge to speak with Chris!! Doesn't he that  know today is my birthday? Or his just acting like he doesn't care.

"I'll go speak with him!" Initially that was my plan, but I veered back disapproving the idea, what will he think about me, if I walk to his room and what exactly will I say to him, when he catches me there.

(A sat down back on the bed) this an hour later, a knock on my room door attained my attention, I walked further, pushed the door open and took notice of the same person, I watched to talk with.

"Chris.. is that you?" I suprised to see him.

"Y..yes, it is me" he mimicked my tone, wearing a smile, "come with me!!!" He says iddling to hear my response.

"Where are we going too?" I asked, rather he hold me by my hands and dragged me out in my nightwear.

We both strolled out of the house and caught the gardens donned with decorations and a huge sign that reads, "happy birthday, miss trouble".

A cloud of relief covered me the second I found out that, my birthday wasn't forgotten by Chris, he pulls down a string and fell a bunch of flowers on me, it feels like one of those Indian love story, indeed this is what I wanted, although I do appreciate Keith loving gesture back at the office, Chris has a way of getting to me, I don't want load of expensive gifts, I only need something simple that I could always reflect on anytime my eyes falls on it.

"I know this isn't much but I feel like, a loving romantic dinner, will be okay for you and with a side of a homemade present made by your's truly". (He bows his head, still maintaining the same look.

Chris and I spent the remaintaing hours chatting at the garden, we had so much to talk about, I never knew Chris had that side in him.

(Still talking, when Chris walks passed and sighted us from the window placed at the living room.

His squeezed his face at the sight of us together, afterwards walks away conserving the same look.

(A few hours spent under the stars)

" well!!! I think it's time for you to go back to your room". Chris says to me.

"Yes!!! Good night david" I retroted back, veered and left him still seated at the garden.
