Alexa's POV

The next day was filled with all sorts of lingering thoughts about what I read in the letter. Not only was it disturbing, it sets my heart on a pace I didn't understand either.

I wanted to find out the truth as soon as possible. Was Nora my real mom or did she lie to me? If she lied to me, that would make a lot of sense on why she refused to train me deeply, and took offense when I asked her to teach me more.

If she lied to me about being my mom, I swear…

Tears rolled down my cheeks which I angrily wiped away.

If Nora wasn't my mother, I wondered what she would get from lying to me? It didn't make sense why anyone would lie about that.

There was a knock on the door and I cleared my throat, “Come on in,”

I wiped my face and the door opened revealing a cheerful Angel.

“Hey, the Alpha is training warriors today. Would you like to come and see?”

I stood from my bed. “It's fine..I already watched the Alpha train the warriors yesterday, it was amazing.”

“Come with me, I don't w

I'm not going to let anyone deceive you.” Shirley held my hand and I sighed, relieved that she was here.“What do you suggest I do, Shirley?” I asked and she smiled at me. “It's pretty easy, lovely.”“We're going to Deep into the woods to find out the truth. For now, don't talk to Nora about anything, okay?”I nodded. “Then when are we going to take this trip to Deep into the woods?” I asked and she grinned. “Well, about right now. That's why I took a day off.”I sighed, knowing just how lucky I was to have Shirley take a day off of work because of me.“Then we should go. But what about permission from Alpha Nate. We're going to need his permission before we move anywhere.”“Well, you're right. It's great you know about the rules of the pack right now, Alexa.” I smiled, “Well… after being here for such a long time, I have no choice but to learn.”Shirley chuckled. “Well then, let's go tell th

Alexa's POVAfter I couldn't take it anymore, I decided to see what Nora wrote. To Alexa,From Nora.Dear little one, I'm beginning to get worried as I haven't seen or heard from you after our disagreement the other day. I look forward to hearing from you again, cheers. The letter did sound like what Nora would write but I was more than convinced that she'd heard or sense something which was making her write this letter to me.If she could do it… send this letter to me without being seen,I could also send a letter to anyone else without being seen. It was one of the perks of being half-witch, wasn't it? Although I wasn't fully taught on any of these things, I was willing to expediate my morals and knowledge on these things. How? By focusing. We were nearing winter period where I usually bruised easily. But before that period, I was willing to give it a try.I grabbed a paper from one of the books in the back and grabbed a pen. Alexa's POVAlthough this wasn't something I asked the Alpha for, it sounded like something that he really needed to get done and so I yielded to that desire of his.“Well okay, Alpha. Thank you for considering getting me an office.” I said politely and he nodded.“Don’t worry about anything, okay?”“Okay. Thank you, Alpha.” I saidI stood up from the edge of the bed and the Alpha got up too. He headed to the door, “I'll see you later.”I bowed my neck, then he stopped midway and turned back to me. “By the way, a woman asked for permission to see you not too long ago. I think her name was Shrek or something,”I stifled a laughter. “It's Shirley, Alpha.” I said.“So you know her.” He said and I nodded, not wanting to get into details with him. He seemed to understand that too because he folded his arms and turned to the door before walking out of it.I was left alone once again in my room. I sat cross-legged on the floor and began some breathing exercises. I wanted it to last long. An

I'll wait until she gives birth and then I'll hold the child captive. Once that happens she'll have no choice but to help me.” “Oh, you're so mean Alpha Nate.” I said. “And what will you do about me?” “What will I do about you?” He hummed to himself. “It depends on how useful you prove yourself to be.” “Are you trying to say that I'm not as powerful as Alexa?” I asked. It was only a harmless question but it sank deep into the pit of my groins. Was he trying to insinuate that I was not as powerful as Alexa or was he saying that just to piss me off? “We’ll have to see based on your performance then, won't we Nora?” He said and disappeared out of my home. I watched through the window as he left, my eyes filling with rage as I watched him leave. Alexa's POV *** One week later I w

Alexa's POV I kept drinking the water until it was nearly finished. Afterwards, I closed the lid of the bottle and Shirley watched me closely. “How has your stay at the packhouse being? I still don't feel very comfortable you being away from me but guess what, ,I have to suck that in don't I?” I exhaled. “That's not very probable, your thoughts I mean. Even though I stayed with you in your house for days, it doesn't mean that you automatically shouldn't trust anyone to host me. For example, this is your own Alpha you are talking about. Alpha Nate. He couldn't possibly do anything to harm me.” I said. “Even if that's a possibility, I don't want you to be too relaxed at the packhouse.” I smiled, “At this point just take a job at the packhouse so you can watch over me like a hawk.” I said with a slight giggle. “Don't challenge me, Alexa.” Shirley said annoyedly. “Don't challenge me because I'll do it.” “Don't be silly!” I said jokingly. “Are you going to come with me to see my p

Alexa's POVI took two steps in front of the garden and all of a sudden, I felt a gust of wind on my face. I turned around to see who it was and was shocked to see Nora right in front of me.“Nora,” I gasped, taking a step back. She was dressed in a black coat and cream heels. I did not know why but I was scared to stay in front of her. Partially because I had promised to Shirley that I wouldn't go to see Nora again. At least, not untill the truth was confirmed that she wasn't my mother.“Why…” she said. “Have you not paid me a visit lately?”I remained quiet, unknowing when to act or how to. This was a sensitive issue. Couldn't be sorted out by just opening my mouth and saying whatever came out from it.“Nora—”“—Mother, mom,” she interrupted me. “Why aren't you calling me that?” She asked and I sighed. Did I just tell on myself?“Well…”She stopped to look at my face clearly, then she hesitated as she talked to me. “Don't tell me that you are still mad at me because of what happened

I noticed that they were freshly painted.“What's the use of that when you're going to shift into your wolf?” I said, referring to her nails.“Oh, it won't spoil just because I shift into my wolf form.”“Are you sure?” I asked.“To be fair, you have a good point. By the way, I haven't seen you shift into your wolf form? When will I get to see it?” “Probably when the baby is out.”“Right.”“I don't want to do anything that's gonna risk the health of the baby.”“I see.”“By the way, I should get going.” I said to Angel. He nodded at me, a gesture for me to do as Beta Boaz had said.I nodded and follow Beta Boaz out of the room. “Since you did not give up on your training, I'm going to have to pass you up to someone I trust to teach you.”“I thought you were going to train me,” I said.“Indirectly I am. I had found that out but myself.“Call me Edward,” he said causing my jaw to drop.“What?”“My name is Edward.”“Well Edward I don't know what to do concerning you. You are my brother?! That's crazy. My parents, I mean, our parents never told me that they gave birth to a boy.”“That's probably because they didn't want you to be any sadder If they told you that your twin brother is missing.”“Twin brother?” I said, feeling shocked a second time.“We're twins?!” I asked.“Yes,” he nodded, “And stop acting so surprised everytime, it's annoying.”“I see.” I answered, but then I said, “We're really siblings. I couldn't let the death of the white wolf be in vain. Also, Zaria was dead. And there was nothing that I could do to ever bring her back. So now my focus should be on my pack, Deep into the woods and how to make it prosperous again without any interference from the shadow Wolves.“Wait,” I said causing the Shadow Wolves leader to halt in his steps.“What?” He asked before looking at me.“If you don't have any magic then how come you don't react to my magic?” I asked.“Oh,” he turned to me. “Ever since I was little, I always carry a little pendant with me which makes me immune to magic. I don't know who gave it to me but somehow it always works and protects me when I'm in danger. It's like a little pocket charm.” He said. “By the way,” I said, “I want to you to stop attacking Deep into the woods.” “And what w

I have come here to announce a truce with your leader.”One of the Shadow Wolves scoffed, “Attack!”They all sped towards me and I stretched my hands forth causing magic to explode out of me causing them to all fall back to this ground with blood gushing out of their mouths. They were all dead.I looked to the while wolf beside me and it howled. I stepped over the dead bodies and continued to walk ahead over to see more shadow Wolves rushing tow

I focused my gaze on the crowd. “Everyone, I would like you to put a hand together for Phillip North. He put his life as risk to find out the truth that Alpha Nate was with the enemy. Because of him we know who our enemies are and who our friends are.” I said and they all applauded him.“I would also like to announce to you all that Phillip would be the Beta of Deep into the woods, I hope you all listen to him as well as you listen to me.” I said. There was a little bit of hesitation amongst the crowd. After all, most of them were aware of what had happened in the pack with Zaria North. However, some clapped and I instantly knew that Phillip would have some problem controlling the people and ruling them but I also knew that he would have to prove himself. Only then would he be accepted.“Every

He did as I urged with his eyes widened in anticipation for what I would say next.“What's the problem?” He asked.“I choose today to officially make you my beta.”“But why what's the hurry?”“I just thought about it and to be frank with you, I don't like how everything in my pack is moving so I decided that I would go to meet the leader of the shadow Wolves. That's the only way that the pack would ever make progress. I'm tired of people dying on me.”“Alpha, that is dangerous. Is there anyone else you've spoken about this to?”“Just you, Phillip.”Phillip cleared his throat, “How is the baby doing?”“Good. But the most important thing here isn't me or the baby. It's the pack. After all he said about Zaria North?I stood up from the chair.“Arthur, you said Zaria killed your son and now you're saying you don't think she killed your son?” I said, feeling absolutely disgusted by what Arthur was saying.“Now that Zaria is dead you're changing your mind?”“It's exactly because she's dead that I think she didn't kill my son. How could she do that and kill herself, it doesn't make sense at all to me!”“What makes sense then Arthur, tell me?”“I think Zaria was controlled before she died. One of the warriors told me that she died during the war but she was brought back to life. I didn't believe him but now that she's dead, I think he might be onto something.”“She told me something similar before she died but I…” I trailed off, while thinking deeply. “I don't know.” I said while exhaling. I still hadn't thought of what to do with Alpha Nate. He'd betrayed me of course but his betrayal made no sense to me. What do you know about that?” I asked. She shook her head at that agressively. “Nothing I swear!”“Tell me everything you know, Zaria. Did you decide to betray me because I didn't give you everything you wanted? Instead I chased you out of the pack to represent the shadow Wolves. Did you regret being affiliated with Deep into the woods so you met with their leader instead and did his dirty deeds so he could let you go?” I asked with my eyes glowing with tears. But I stubbornly wiped the tears. There was no way I would cry because of Zaria. She wasn't worthy of my tears.Zaria suddenly stumbled back in the prison cell and her eyes widened. She clenched onto the side of her top and said, ”I remember now.”My eyes widened.“Tell me,” I said.
