Chapter 75

Mike sat at his office, sipping from his mug of coffee and staring at his laptop with a wide smile on his face.

“You haven’t told me why you decided to go with your maid. Is everything okay?” Mike asked calmly, winking at him in the process and breaking into loud laughter.

Richard smiled from the other end of the call, after which he darted his eyes towards Emily, who was sleeping peacefully on the bed.

“It’s been long I felt peace. It feels so good”, he replied, with different emotions running through his eyes.

Last night was the first great night he had in a while. He had changed his number to deny Barbara any means of reaching to him.

Ever since he got married, that was the very first time he felt so peaceful; without the series of nagging, emotional torture and arguments that came from Barbara.

He glanced at Emily again and smiled calmly. Not only was she wise, she was also capable of melting a man’s heart.

“You haven’t answered me. Why did you go with your maid?” Mike asked again
