Brian smiled at Emily who currently didn’t seem to be in the mood to have a conversation.

“You were crying”, Brian finally said.

He had seen her crying inside the restroom. At first, he made to keep mute and pretend as though he didn’t see her. However, seeing her looking so quiet and troubled made him crave to know what was wrong.

“Was i?” Emily asked rhetorically, chuckling as she did and trying to hide her face that was now red.

“I caught you! You shouldn’t lie to me about that”, Brian said with a small smile.

Emily took in a deep breath as she gazed at Brian. He was a great young man who would have loved her with everything he had. He was a billionaire, just like Richard, but he was willing to show her to the world with every pride.

“Well, times can be hard. Tears becomes something of essence”, Emily said and sniffed calmly.

“The baby?” Brian asked, peering piercingly into her eyes and searching for answers.
