Chapter 221

“I want just the baby”, Barbara replied Emily who glared at her as though she just saw a ghost.

“What baby?” Emily stuttered as her eyes shifted towards the child who laid on the bed, some foot away from where they stood.

Barbara smirked and ignored her, clearly thinking of the next step to take in her utterance.

“Here! I got you a drink”, Barbara suddenly smiled excitedly as she lifted a bottle of whiskey towards Emily.

“You don’t expect me to drink that!” Emily whispered, wondering why Barbara suddenly switched up her mood in a split second.

“We are not enemies, are we? I came to say hi to the baby as good friends that we are!” Barbara noted and pushed Emily aside.

Emily’s week was quite frail, and it didn’t come as a surprise when Barbara swiftly shoved her aside.

A deep sigh escaped Emily’s lips as she turned to look at Barbara, who was now peering at the baby and giggling in excitement.

Her heart was still out of her chest, and Barbara’s presence made the hairs on her skin stand.
