“Lady Kyra, why don’t I help you look for a carriage that will take you home?” Gerald asked her, his breathing heavily labored.

Kyra actually had the grace to look embarrassed and she was panting as her eyes dropped to the ground, “I do not want to wait behind, I really want to go home, but I don’t have any money with me,” she said as she focused on kicking invisible pebbles on the floor.

She was too ashamed to glance up at Gerald, she would rather not see the look on his face. He must be so surprised right now. What grown up walks around without money and she also looked rich, it was really embarrassing.

“Alright then. Since you have no money with you, I could give some to you.” Gerald said almost immediately after she told him of her poor state and empty pocket.
