Kyra’s loud screams of terror woke Anton who was sleeping peacefully beside her, his heart almost stopped beating at the sight of blood everywhere on the bed. He was out of the bed and rushing to command the guards at her door to get him the pack’s doctor before he returned back to Kyra.Anton's hands were shaking as he reached to hug her to him hoping to remove her from the middle of the blood, but her screams increased the moment he tried to move her close to his body. He let go of her immediately. He could not fully grasp what was going on, but he knew that her baby was at risk with the amount of blood that had flowed out of her onto the bed.Even though he could not breathe a sigh or relief just yet, Anton was grateful when the doctor arrived a few minutes after he sent the guards to call him. Somehow, Kyra lost consciousness as the doctor entered the room and Anton refused to step out after that. He remained by the doctor's side, breathing fast and with his heart in his mouth as
Kyra stared ahead, unblinking and unseeing. She had been forced into a sitting position earlier today because according to the doctor, leaving her to lay on her back until anytime she decides to break out of the shock could cause her problems in the future. She slept for eight days and some hours, that’s what Anton told her when he entered the room a few days ago to deliver the blow of her miscarriage that sent her into this state of nothingness that she was now caught up in.After her cries ceased, she had been mute, and nothing anyone did or said could make her speak. According to the doctor, she had gone into a state of shock. This was her own way of coping with what had happened.Kyra could hear them, but even when she tried to move, to speak, her body refused to cooperate with her.“I want to see her, Anton. You’ve been keeping me away for days. I know you are still mad at me, I’m mad at myself too, but she’s here, she did not die, and she needs a friend,” Kyra could hear Tanya y
A whole lot of questions but no answers. Kyra continued to stare straight ahead as Tanya spoke softly beside her.“I’m really sorry about your baby. I wish it never happened but it did. No woman deserves to lose her child and I’m so sorry it happened to you.”Kyra flinched inwardly but her body did not move when Tanya placed her hand over hers that was folded on her lap.“I wish I could bring back your baby but we both know that it’s impossible. The maids who did it are dead already.”They are dead? Who killed them? How would I find out why they fed me abortion drugs if they are dead. Kyra wanted to scream loudly, she wanted to throw and break things but that was impossible in her condition. She could only remain in the same position as she screamed and cried in her mind.“Tristan did this to you.” Tanya’s voice broke, “I’m so sorry. I don’t know how a man could be so cruel to his mate to the extent that he would get together with her because he wanted to deal with her father then he
It’s been over a month since she lost her baby and approximately two weeks since Tanya visited her room to tell her about Tristan and his new mate being the reason for her baby’s death. After her scream that day, both Tanya and Anton rushed inside and Anton nearly brought down the roof on Tanya’s head, thinking she must have done or said something to trigger Kyra.He only calmed down when the doctor arrived, checked her and said that she was okay. It was a good thing that she was out of that phase of shock because it wouldn’t have been good for her in the long run and she could have chosen to remain that way forever.Anton still asked Tanya to repeat to her everything she said to Kyra, and she did, not omitting anything. Anton went mad again, but the doctor told him that it was fine.According to the doctor, the reason Kyra came back was because Tanya had given her another reason to live. “You know that you can talk to me right, Kyra? If you have anything on your mind that you care t
Why had Kyra ever thought that the training was not going to be hard or that Anton would take her weakness or situation into consideration and go slow with her? He did not do that. Immediately her body was okay, and he got the go ahead from the doctor, Anton gave her another two weeks to rest despite her protest, and it was only now that she understood why he did it.His idea of training was not just giving her a sword and teaching her how to swing it and take off someone’s head while at it. He was helping her build her stamina from the scratch and her ability to fight and kill with just her bare hands. They would only move on to sword fighting after he was sure that she was strong enough to defend herself with just her hands. The only person who gave her leeway, too much of it, was Tanya. Once Kyra started to breathe fast and started sweating and asking for a break, Tanya would let her be, even if it was just five minutes into the training. Kyra did not see anything bad in it. Anto
Kyra sat on the floor in the corner of her room with her knees to her chest and her arms wrapped around it as she rocked slowly with tears flowing freely down her cheeks. Where she was sitting was a hidden spot behind her closet where she could not be easily seen.“I’m so sorry, baby. Mother could not do anything to protect you. Mother was unable to do anything to protect herself either, but she’s learning and soon enough, she will take revenge for everything they’ve done to us,” she kept moaning these words over and over again. “Miss Kyra?” Cynthia called as she walked into the room with Kyra’s dinner. She said she was not going to eat with Anton today, as has been their ritual since she lost her baby. Her excuse was that she was too tired from her training where Anton did not give her more than a thirty minute break in between every session, so Anton let her be, and it was just this one time. After her food was poisoned, Anton became apprehensive and ran a background check on ever
“Kyra?” Anton called as he burst into the room, ignoring the guards at the door who now had fearful expressions.“You are both in trouble,” Cynthia did notmind rubbing salt on their exposed wound, and she opened her mouth, ready to scream loudly when one made a move to hit her. “I will scream, try it,”“Watch your back,” they both warned her before they went into the room to join Anton.“She never came out after she walked in, alpha. I think we should check the—” the guard slammed his mouth shut without completing his statement about them checking to see if she’s thrown herself out of the window because Anton was already walking to the window and staring outside.“There is nothing out there to show that she jumped out.” Anton turned around, his eyes blazing red with fury as he grabbed the guard who was closest to him by the collar, lifting him up effortlessly. “Where is Kyra? Where did she go?”“I… I d…do…don't know.” The guard was shaking and sweating in Anton’s hold, “We were stand
“Kyra,” Anton called before he rushed over to where she was huddled on the floor. He wanted to wrap his arms around and pull her out so he could hug her close and know that she was finally safe, but he hesitated. She was staring straight ahead and when he placed himself in her line of focus, it looked as if she was not seeing him. She was staring through him while rocking and muttering words he could not hear.“Kyra?” He slowly moved to knee in front of her as he waved his hand in front of her face, but no reaction came from her. Anton was confused on what to do. He has never seen anything like this before, but she appeared the same way she was when she went into shock after her miscarriage. He was scared that if he touched her, he would spook her and there would be problems. He moved back and faced Cynthia, “Go out and tell the guards that she had been found. Everyone can go back to their duty post and call the doctor.”“Doctor? Is she hurt, Anton?” Tanya asked with widened eyes as
