Alex got down from her bike and immediately parked it by the alleyway, besides the backdoor of the diner that late afternoon once she got out from work. She took off her helmet and made sure that she had securely lock the vehicle.
She went through the back door and immediately placed her helmet on the shelf to her right.
“What happened?” She immediately asked when she saw the faces of the kitchen staff.
“Alex, Kathleen was here a while ago,” Sally started.
Alex’s mouth formed into a thin and tight line and immediately went to the dining area. Thankfully, there are no customers inside. She stopped short when she saw Ashley, with her tear-stained face and looking shaken, she had a suspicion of what might have happened. Their aunt is currently comforting her.
“What did she do?!” Alex demanded, clutching her fist. She walked towards her sister and looked down at her, concern on her face as well as anger. &ldquo
Zach watched tersely as Damon pulled out a chair for Alex to sit and accepted the jacket she took off. They entered a not so crowded Mediterranean restaurant and were led to a private booth seating at one side of the establishment that has full-height glass windows with a picturesque view of the garden the restaurant has.“Thank goodness it’s not crowded, considering it’s a Friday,” Jacinta commented after everyone has seated. She turned to Zach and smiled up at him. “Remember when you first took me here back then? I was so distraught that time after losing a patient on the table, and you decided to bring me here to wallow my frustration in food.”“Yeah, well I do know that food helps you feel better,” Zach replied with a smile. He turned to the two. “Have you experienced losing a comrade, Alex?”He noted that Alex shifted uncomfortably and saw Damon placed a hand on her knee that irritated him.
Alex scanned her ID the following day as she arrived at the office and immediately proceeded to her cubicle. She placed her bag inside the filing cabinet under her table and automatically turned on her computer. She heard her phone sound for a message notification.“Hi, Alex! I’ll be discharge in a few minutes,” Ashley informed in her message. “Malc’s here beside me while we’re waiting for Aunt V from downstairs. Please come home early this afternoon so we can have dinner together. I promise that I will rest today so you don’t need to call from time to time to check on it. I mean it, Alex.”“I can pass by and buy some dessert later,” Alex replied with a smile, typing on her phone. “How about cheesecake? Anyway, you are going to rest. It’s very tempting right now to just laze all day, doing nothing.”“I mean it, Alex,” her sister immediately replied. “Don’
Zach stepped on the brakes of his car as he arrived at the Clementine North High School parking lot where several police cars had already filled up. He immediately went out, shouting orders over the radio, calling for his agents to assemble at the command center. He saw Malcolm talking with one of his men, looking down at the floor plan of the campus they were able to procure. He could hear them discussing possible entry points as he approached them.“We were able to infiltrate their CCTV system,” Malcolm informed when he looked up. “My men are just connecting the monitors to for visuals. Information so far, we had received that it’s a group of men, around ten of them. They are targeting the two sons of a businessman and we’re still narrowing the identity.”“Are there students who managed to escape?” Zach asked.Malcolm pointed at one direction where police officers are escorting and guiding them out, tellin
Alex stayed behind Mark, pointing her firearm on the ground as the agents in front of them rammed through the door. She immediately noticed that the hallway is dimly lit from the emergency lights that were strategically placed.“We’re in,” Mark informed over the radio. “The gym is fifty feet away from our position.“We’re by the locker rooms of the gym already,” she heard Zachary’s voice. She looked towards the hallway and caught a glimpse of the SWAT team from the window going through the entrance opposite from where they went in. She could hear muffled cries from the gym as well as shouts and orders from the gunmen.“We need to split up,” Mark instructed.Alex pulled out her phone and checked the images of the plan that Zach had sent to them before they took off. She looked at the location of the gym as well it’s neighboring areas. She then pocketed it and let the rifle hang over h
Alex placed the tray of empty plates and glasses on top of the counter the following late Monday morning and smiled as the waitress manning the counter, took them immediately and brought it towards the kitchen. She then resumed arranging the vacated tables, arranging the chairs. She then grabbed the mop she left leaning on one counter and started mopping the floor. She looked up when she heard the bell from the entrance sound and frowned.Vincent Worthington, her stepfather’s stepbrother walked inside the diner and stopped when he saw her. He gave out a wave at her aunt, who appeared behind the counter from the kitchen.“I’ll have some coffee ready for you,” Vicky called out politely.“Very domestic,” he drawled as he sat on one table and gestured for Alex to sit as well.“Very clever as well by calling my aunt that you’re coming,” she countered tightly as she sat on the chair, facing him. &ldqu
Zachary opened his eyes, removing his hand from the back of Jacinta’s neck when she finally pulled away and rolled off on top of him on a Wednesday morning. He cradled her to his side as she snuggled up to him, kissing his uninjured shoulder.“For someone who just got out of the hospital, you still know how to make me happy and sated,” she said with a teasing smile on her face. She propped her elbow up, supporting her head while her other hand drew circles on his broad chest, caressing the few hairs lightly.“Well, I haven’t fully paid my doctor yet,” he commented with a grin.Jacinta laughed as she straddled one leg over his and rested her chin on his chest.“I can collect the remaining balance later,” she replied jokingly. “I need to get ready to do some rounds on my patients. I’ll be back early afternoon.”Zach playfully pouted, not wanting her to go.“Can’t you
Alex surfaced from the water at Boulder Coast beach and walked back towards the shore, running both hands over her wet hair and then shook her arms to removed excess water on her skin. She saw Damon stood up from their spot and grabbed her towel. With her height and physical form, Alex is aware of people looking at her. With the sunset behind her, the image she projected to the onlookers are jaw dropping. During her younger years, several talent and modelling scouts had approached her, inviting her to audition but she paid no heed and declined them politely. But that didn’t stop them from trying to convinced her.“You should have chosen the modeling life,” Damon drawled as he placed the towel around her shoulders, immediately covering the scars on her back. “If you did before, I’m sure you’re already touring the world.”“I am touring the world with the job I am in,” she returned defensively. She walked beside
Zach, with a splitting headache, groaned as he opened his eyes, holding his head rolled onto his back and stared up at the ceiling, wondering how he ended there. All he could recall was that he went with Alex and Damon to Boulder Coast.“I want to sit at the front,” he insisted firmly when Alex was opening the door. He gave her a dull look as he placed a hand on top of the door and got inside the passenger seat. “Thanks for opening, Walters.”“Piss off,” she cursed as she slammed the door and finally got inside the car, situating herself behind Damon. She put her shades on. “I’m all set.”Damon then droves off towards the beach, starting a general conversation to which Alex would reply from time to time. By the time he parked at the beach parking lot, the sun was already high up.“Just right on time for lunch,” Damon commented as he opened the door for Alex. He raised his phone to her. &ldq
