RAVEN POV I snatched my towel from the wardrobe and headed to the bathroom. Only four more days and my vacation was over. I hadn't seen the doctor yet which shouldn't be so. The thought of this reminded me about how careless I could be sometimes, although I was certain that the babies were safe. They didn't have issues in the meantime and this was because of how I prioritized fruits and vegetables. As soon as I finished my bath, my gaze darted to the wall clock in my room and there it was. I had almost three hours more to spend in the house before finally leaving for the hospital. I must have something to eat before anything else. So with the towel wrapped around my large stomach, I walked into the kitchen - thinking of what to eat and then making up my mind the very next moment. Turning around, I walked to the store where crop fruits were kept. Taking about three small potato crops, I walked back to the space and set to work. It didn't take long for me to be done with the cooking
RAVEN POV Thankfully, I was more than ready for my trip with Logan. With my handbag that was brought down from its shelf, I walked out of the room. “Hello, Logan. Come on in. Welcome.” With a smile, he did just that. And that was when he took his hand from behind where he kept it all this while, revealing a bouquet. A beautiful one. “This is for you. I—I don't know but—”“Thank you!” I was grinning from ear to ear at this point and took it from him. “It was so thoughtful of you to do this, Logan. Thank you so much. Would you like to eat? I have some potatoes I fried that haven't been touched yet.” I explained to the man who was shaking his head already.“Okay—” A smile that was still plastered on my face. “I'll be right back. I need to keep this somewhere very safe.” I mouthed and was gone from his sight. The next time I came back, I had taken shots of the flowers in my room where it was kept. How did Logan know I needed to teach Rune some lessons? I smiled at him and asked.
RUNE POVThere was an awkwardness existing in the house. A lot of them and I feared the beauty of the pack was beginning to vanish from our eyes. What was wrong? What did I do wrong too? Staring at the ceiling from where I lay, these and many thoughts ran around my head. What was I going to do to change the look of things? Why did I get myself involved in all of these in the first place? Sitting up on the bed, I heaved a knowing sigh and picked up my phone from the table next to the bed. And just then, I stared at its screen. The wall clock before my eyes was not enough means of checking the time, and I was not myself. Not for a moment. Standing on my feet, I decided to go about my daily routine as usual. How could I forget it? Taking a seat again, I stared at the screen of my phone for a long time before making up my mind to do the usual: stalking Raven's page like I used to. And now I was staring at her profile. Something was off about it. What was that? Looking at the p
LILA POV I was all set, ready to leave the pack for the hospital this morning. But not without Rune. “Good morning, my lord,” taking a seat on another chair, I greeted the man who moped at me, nodding his head on second thought. “Did you have a good night's sleep?” He nodded again. But this time, he looked like he had something to say so I kept mute. “Good morning, Lila. I had a good night's sleep. How did you sleep?” “I tried.” The silence that ruled the space was somehow. Not so good for someone I was in love with, but I was still willing to give it a chance. I would wait for him to come around, especially when we were leaving the house together. “Uh—” he looked up. “You look like you're leaving the pack for someplace. Where are you headed this morning?” Asking, he turned around to look at the kitchen door, leaving me to wonder if there was something he was expecting, but what did I know? I had joined him at the table for a reason. A reason I was about to make known to him
RAVEN POV The day we finally got to leave the house came. As promised, I was holding on to the words of Logan who promised to be at the house soon. This way, we could make it to the hospital before the end of the next hour. Something made a sound. It was my phone. Somehow, I expected it to be Logan but it wasn't him. It was Aella. Taking the device in my hand, I asked. “What do you want from me?” In a playful tone. “I'll leave the house soon. Do you want to come over?” She heaved a sigh. I could hear it from my end. “No, my lady—” she mouthed. “I just wanted to be sure you're fine. You know I would come with you but I can't. I'll only drop by later tomorrow. In the evening. I'm glad Logan is coming with you.” She was right. “Well, you're right. He's coming with me and I have him to thank for that.” I got on my feet at the sound of the kettle alarm. “I'll talk to you later. I need to pack up.” And without waiting to hear whatever it was she had to say, I ended the call and ru
Ravens' POV“It is time, Young Luna.” I glanced up to find my slave maid Aella standing there. Taking a shaky breath I nodded."Thanks. Um.. I'll be there shortly."She nodded. I waited until I heard her receding footsteps before dashing to the window, peeking out for any sign of the car. The black Mustang was right below my window.I put on a smile, then turned and walked towards the door. "All right, let us go!" I called out to Aella as I got outside, who smiled and started the car engine. I looked into the car, and my smile paused. My husband was nowhere to be found.I looked around; no sign of him. My husband, the man I love, he was not there.I felt a growl in my chest, my wolf was upset and restless; it felt like she was pacing back and forth.Obviously because Rune promised to bring me to the hospital but didn't show upHis mother, the current Luna, had promised that he would come to the hospital, and I believed her. I believed he would appear, and the thought of it kept m
Raven's POVI looked at him, then at her.“Hi, sister—” Lila, my sister, interrupted my thoughts and rushed to hug me. “It's been two years. You don't know how much I missed you.”She let go of me while I just stared at her. She was seriously sick years ago, shouldn't she be recuperating at a human hospital now?She was well-dressed with a full face of make-up. I, on the other hand, had a simple shirt and jeans, and nothing else. I had stopped applying make-up, ever since I got pregnant.Suddenly I felt very uncomfortable.“Why are you here?” Rune's voice interrupted my thoughts again. I looked up to see him with his hand on Lila's shoulder. Was he kidding?“Why are you here?” I shot back instantly.“Isn't it obvious?” he asked, then looked at Lila, who smiled up at him.I hated the thought of me that they really looked like a cute couple.“Lila was transferred from the human hospital to the Pack's hospital three weeks ago, Raven. I only came to pick her up and take her home.”I sco
Raven's POVI opened my eyes and stretched out my hand. Rune was not on the bed beside me.Where was he?His side of the bed was rumpled. Oh so he had left. Why should I care where he went? I sat up with a sigh. Glancing down, I saw that I was still very naked. My clothes lay in a pile on the ground. My thoughts drifted to Lila again. Maybe he took her with him to my parents' pack.Where else could they be?I jumped to my feet and wore some clothes. I was headed to the door when my eyes caught a picture on the dresser. A picture of myself and Lila with our parents. We were thirteen years old.I stared at the picture, at the smiles that brightened our faces then. Where had it all gone wrong? How did things get this bad?Was it wrong to take in an orphan as my sister? Tears fell from my eyes as I wondered. Why was I thinking about this?Lila used to be an orphan, pitied and given much attention. I cared for her a lot, and sometimes overlooked the things she did. Maybe that was why
