LILA POV

“Has he reached out to you yet?”

I looked up from where I was seated in the diner. “No, Mother. He hasn't reached out to me yet. Isn't it obvious at this point how he doesn't care whether or not I am dead or alive?” I scoffed, sipping from the hot mug. “I am beginning to hate him so much.”

“Shhhh, Lila. Don't say that about him yet. He'll reach out, who knows?”

She sighed and took a seat on the chair opposite to me. “I'm afraid I am short of suggestions at this point. What do you think we should do?”

I looked at her, and placed the mug on the table. “I don't know either. I'm tired of showing up there all the time. Can't you see that my respect looks like it's getting lost?” Standing on my feet, I picked up the tray I ate from, and then walked to the kitchen where I did the dishes quickly.

What have I not thought?

I have wondered since four nights ago what to do and how to go about it. And then at the same time, there was not any answer at all for me, leaving me strande
