Was that supposed to be a joke?

It didn't sound like one, and there was no way I would take it from her.

“You are pregnant, Raven,” I let out, pacing the space while she did something on her phone. “You can't leave me with my babies in your stomach, can you?!”

My tone made her look up. Stand on her feet, in fact. “I told you twice that the babies were lost!” She raised her voice also. “You have no rights to the babies in my stomach this time around because they're not yours. Don't you understand it?”

I didn't know what to say.

I didn't want to believe it, but she meant it. The look on her face said it all, and I had no choice but to believe it. Not when I have heard it twice when she still resided in the pack a few months ago.
