RAVEN POV

Why was he calling me?

What does he want from me this time around? Ever since the young Alpha found me at the mall, with Logan who paid the bills for what I got - my phone has not had the rest it deserved. It rang all day and I did all I could to avoid taking his calls.

It was a Monday morning, and a month since I started working in the company. Even if I wanted to take his call, there's no way I'd do that right now. I had a lot to do and my desk was filled up with documents and files Mr. Johnson, the manager, asked me to treat.

A knock on the door diverted my attention. It had to be Jane. Only she knocked that way on my door but was I in the mood to have a conversation with her - anyone in fact? Not with the emotional trauma I dealt with since I set my eyes on Rune and Lila in that mall.

I let her in.

“Do you need something?” Managing a smile I didn't know whether or not it was genuine, I asked as I relaxed my back on the chair.

“Take a seat, Jane.” I added and the w

  • Alpha's Regret: Chasing My Forsaken Luna   Chapter 175

Raven’s POVThe wind was sharp tonight, carrying the metallic scent of rain and the faint echo of distant howls. The kind of night that made memories crawl out of the shadows. The kind that made my chest ache.I shouldn’t have stepped outside.I shouldn’t have wanted him to follow. But of course… he did.“Raven.”His voice slid through the darkness like a blade deep, calm, far too controlled for the storm raging behind his eyes.Logan stepped out of the doorway, the dim porch light catching against his jaw, his hair, the tension written into every inch of him. He didn’t come closer. He just watched me… the way he always did lately. As if every breath I took dragged him closer and further away at the same time.“I don’t want to fight,” I muttered.“Good.”He stepped closer.“That’s not what I came out here for.”My pulse betrayed me instantly.I hated how he affected me.Hated how the bond still twisted beneath my skin, no matter how much I fought it.His eyes flicked over my face, dow

Ravens POVLogan didn’t move for a while after that. His knee stayed warm against my shoulder, his fingers hovering just close enough to mine that I could feel the tiny shift in his breath when he finally stood up.“Come on,” he murmured, tapping my hand lightly. “You’re exhausted.”“You’re injured.”“Still doesn’t change the fact that you can’t sleep on the kitchen floor.”“I wasn’t planning on it.”He gave me a look that said you absolutely were, and I ignored it.When I pushed myself up, my legs felt weird like the panic from earlier had soaked into my bones and was only now fading out in little tremors. Logan noticed of course he did and he reached out instinctively. His hand hovered at my waist like he was waiting for permission.I didn’t pull away.He steadied me with one hand and kept it there longer than necessary. Neither of us mentioned it.The hallway was dim when we walked through it, but the house felt warmer than before, as if his presence had melted a layer of cold I di

Raven Logan barely had time to take off his hoodie before I reached for him again.I didn’t mean to.It wasn’t planned. My body just moved on its own like some leftover panic was still stuck inside me and touching him was the only way to quiet it.He didn’t pull away.He let me grip the front of his shirt and lean against him for a second, like he understood that I needed that tiny moment to make sure he was real.“You didn’t eat.” His voice was quiet but firm.“I wasn’t hungry.”“You still should’ve eaten.”I rolled my eyes at the tone, but my voice came out softer than I meant. “I was a bit busy worrying whether you were alive.”His jaw twitched, like my words hit him harder than I intended.Aella cleared her throat from behind us. “As much as I love watching emotional reunions, I’m going to bed before I turn into a third wheel. Kids are sleeping. Keep your volume low.”Logan shot her a glare. She smirked, waved at him, then disappeared down the hallway. The house went quiet again,

  • Alpha's Regret: Chasing My Forsaken Luna   Chapter 172

RavenThe house was quieter than usual, the kind of quiet that made every small sound feel very loud and obvious. The faint ticking of the wall clock, the soft hum of the heater, Aella flipping through a children’s book on the couch while the twins leaned against her… everything sounded too sharp. Too too obvious. I sat at the edge of the dining table, elbows on my knees, hands clasped so tightly my knuckles had gone pale. I tried to steady my breathing, but it kept slipping, breaking, fluttering in my chest like a bird desperate to get out.Logan had been gone for hours. He said he’d check in.He said he’d be quick. He said he’d come back the very same way he left. But every minute that passed felt like another invisible fist pushing down on my lungs.Aella lifted her head. “You’re going to chew through your lip if you keep doing that.”I blinked. I hadn’t even realized I was biting it.“I’m I’m fine,” I murmured.“No. You’re not.”I didn’t respond. I didn’t have the energy for a li

  • Alpha's Regret: Chasing My Forsaken Luna   Chapter 171

LOGAN’S POVNight was drawing close as we rode deeper into Moonfyre territory. The air was cold, colder than it should’ve been for autumn, and every breath left a faint white cloud in front of me.But even the icy wind couldn’t numb the heaviness lodged in my chest.I kept hearing Raven’s voice, raw, broken, furious.“This is all your fault, Logan!”I inhaled slowly, letting the ache settle in deeper. Raymond rode beside me, silent as always, though I caught him glancing my way more than once. Probably checking if I was going to break apart before we reached Seraphine’s home.I wouldn’t. I didn’t have that privilege.“Alpha,” Raymond finally murmured, adjusting the cloak around his shoulders. “We’re close.”I nodded once. “I know.”The scent of ash was faint but unmistakable. The wind carried it straight to us, threading through the cold air like smoke trailing from an extinguished candle. My jaw flexed.Seraphine hadn’t deserved to die alone here. Not like this. And Raven… Raven dese

  • Alpha's Regret: Chasing My Forsaken Luna   Chapter 170

RAVEN'S POV"Raven? Are you awake?”A knock followed Aella's voice from the door, and I cupped a hand over the flickering flame of my candle, to steady it, as I answered, “yes, come in.”I furrowed my brows as I shot a worried glance at the connecting door, the room had been quiet for so long that even the smallest sound felt like a shatter, and I didn't want Aurora or Reed to awaken.I dragged my sleeve across my face, smearing away tears that had already dried and cracked on my cheeks as the door creaked open.Aella stepped in, still in her tunic, her hair half undone like she hadn’t slept either. She gave me a warm smile as she made forward and sat down beside me on the bed.“Why aren't you asleep?” She asked and I shrugged, shoving down the knot in my throat.“I was, I just woke up…before you knocked.”Aella nodded, then placed a warm, gentle hand on my arm. “I came to take the children,” she said quietly. “So you can get a well deserved rest tonight.”I tried to smile, but it di
