ARES’S POV

There was something about Kalila’s timing, she always had to walk in at the worst time possible. Wendy had visited and we talked about the party, she wasn’t happy with the way I had left.

“Ares common, you didn’t even stay up to ten minutes.” She complained, pouting at me. “What happened?”

“Something came up, I had to leave immediately. After all, I told you I won’t stay long and I would send a driver to come and get you but Dolph came back empty handed. Why didn’t you come back with him?” I asked.

“I thought something pissed you off and you had completely forgotten about me, so I hitched a ride with Ralph. I even saw the look on your face before you walked out. I didn’t want to interrupt then because I thought you both were talking about business, because that’s how you look whenever you’re talking about business. So I continued talking with the group of ladies with me, when I turned again, you were gone. Ralph said you left suddenly in an upset manner, what happened?”
