KALILA’S POV

Wendy was oblivious to my presence the whole time, she didn’t even bother to turn or look around while she carefully mixed whatever she put into the wine. That was a very big mistake, this was the break through.

Ares came into the living room and immediately she plastered a warm smile on her face and walked towards him with the glass. The devil!

“Here you go, Ares.” She said and handed the glass to him.

Before Ares could take a sip, I walked to him and snatched the glass of dangerous liquid from his hand and placed it on a table. I didn’t bother talking to him at that point or even accusing Wendy, I just walked past him. As expected I heard his footsteps behind me as I ascended the stairs and all I thought about was what I had seen in his study when I ran in earlier.

I kept on walking and before I entered the bedroom he caught up to me and held my hand.

“Dahlia.” He called, his deep voice husky and hesitant. It was rare for him to sound so unsure of himself.
