KALILA’S POV

I was still stuck on the reason for Ares’s sudden anger, the glint in his furious eyes had frightened me. Something made me think whatever it was, it was either caused my uncle Lawrence or directed at Jeremy, it was probably both. I didn’t want to get involved, I would ask Jeremy what the issue was the next day.

“Dear Kalila, you’re so naïve sometimes.” Nova said as I walked up the stairs.

I stopped, “What do you mean by that, Nova?” I asked.

“Are you saying it’s only anger you saw in Ares’s eyes?” She asked.

What else was there? I thought, wondering what she was driving at, then I nodded. “Yes, that’s all I saw. From the looks of things you saw something else. Share it with me then.” I said, I stood rigidly, listening with rapt attention to Nova’s words.
