KALILA’S POV

This was going to be a very uncomfortable night, I could already foresee it.

“Hey, Dahlia.” Wendy said as I walked in after Ares.

“What are you doing? You don’t have a chef at home?” I asked, not minding how rude I sounded, then I looked at Ares. “Ares, I thought you assigned servants to the house she’s crashing in?”

“I did.” He replied flatly as he sat down. “Rough day?” He asked Jeremy.

Jeremy nodded, “Understatement, it was crazy at the office after the horse race. Can I stay at the ranch? Away from people?”

“No.” Ares said and they started eating, he stopped and looked up at me. “What? You won’t eat because Wendy and Jeremy are here?”

“I don’t know why she has to eat with us.” I replied flatly.

“I can’t cook.” She said, her eyes were like blazing embers of fury but there was a smile on her face.

“Lucky you right?” I scoffed and sat next to Ares.
