Chapter 162

Bailey's POV

I spent the whole day in my room. It was getting late and dad brought me lunch. I guess he had told mum that he grounded me and gave another very plausible reason. I was hitting the books hard all day and sometimes I would stop to take a nap or play a few games on my phone. Dad hadn't grounded me in a long time and I had forgotten how lonely it was being grounded. I hated it.

I looked up at the clock and saw that it was past 5:00pm. I looked out of the window and looked at the forest where dad, the wolves and I had chased Miguel. I wondered if he was alive and suddenly I began to doubt if he had told me the truth. The prophecy sounded bogus and untrue. Maybe he had just made it up to escape? What if he was planining that the whole time?
