That... that can't be him, I thought to myself. There was no way in hell that… that thing was going to be my mate. The deep red eyes that seemed to have been submerged in the blood of the dismayed, those long sharp claws that could tear the strongest warrior wolf in half with one swing, his long fangs that he brandished from time to time as he licked it with his forked tongue, and the hair. It was so red that it reflected the sun's rays and shone like it had been sprayed with blood.
I shuddered in the cage as I felt a cold shiver run down her spine. The guards too, I should have seen it earlier. They possessed the same traits as their alpha, long teeth and forked tongue, they were the same except that the alpha looked like he could do ten times more damage than the two guards combined.
"Oh, fuck no," I mumbled to myself as I scooted away to the end of the cage. I looked down at my hands and grunted as my skin sizzled after coming in contact with the silver bits.
I have to get out of there.
With a small grunt, I turned to my side, slowly and carefully to make sure that the silver chain did not come in contact with my skin again, and then crawled to the other side of the cage. With a groan, I stretched my left hand to the bars and shoved out her claws. If I could just tear the gate, then maybe I could escape.
That would have been a very good plan. But if only I had thought of finding out what the bar was made of first because the moment I came in contact with the gate, I felt a burn and without hesitation, I threw her hands off it. I clutched my burnt hand and moved away from the bars, biting hard on my lower lip in an attempt to muffle my scream of pain.
The bars of the cage, it turned out, were made from pure silver.
"You touch the bar and I'm not sure you will be able to touch anything anymore," I heard someone from behind me say and I turned to see who it was. It was one of the guards that had been chained to me before. No wonder they weren't that bothered about me escaping. They knew that I would not be able to.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," I cussed silently as I looked down at my burnt hands. They seemed to be healing, slowly but painfully. There really was no chance of me escaping anymore.
"Is that her? My... mate?" I heard a deep bass voice say. The voice was scratchy and seemed to claw at my ears. I didn't need to see who had spoken to know who it belonged to. Still, my curiosity to see what was going on got the best of me and I turned. "She looks... thin."
"She... sh-she is... she can be in the best shape, I assure you," Vermont said with a slow nervous chuckle. "Just some days of feeding and I tell you she will become as fat as... fat." Even with the pain I was feeling, I couldn't help but stifle a laugh. This was the first time I was seeing my step-father scared and it was very funny.
"She doesn't look for enough to hold talk less of birthing one of mine," the Alpha said with a growl as he turned to my stepfather. "Take her back from wherever you brought her from."
"Birth his child?" I muttered, feeling a frown appear on my face. It was then that I realized that the main reason that my step-father was giving me to the alpha was so that I could carry his child. I wasn't his mate, I was his childbearing thing. "Fuck, no."

"I can assure you that she will birth your child," Vermont said, trying his best to sound as convincing as possible. "She just needs time."
"I need someone who will be able to bring forth my generations without killing them off," Alpha Logan said with a small smile as he leaned towards Vermont. "Your little merchandise here doesn't look like she can even last a day more."
"N-no," Vermont said quickly as he shook his head vehemently. "You don't have to think that. She is actually a very, um, strong and resilient wolf and I am sure that--"
"Does she know what you brought her here for?" Alpha Logan asked as he turned suddenly to Vermont, causing him to almost jump out of his skin.
"D-does.. does she w-what?" Vermont asked confused.
Alpha Logan held his head and turned it towards my cage. He pointed with a small growl at me and said, "She doesn't know why she was brought here, does she?"
"N-no," Vermont answered, shaking his head. "But I can address her and explain it all to her--"
"Do so and get back to me," Alpha Logan said before turning and walking back into the pack compound.
When the gate finally closed shut, Vermont fell to the ground and held his chest and he began hyperventilating. He had probably been scared that Alpha Logan was going to snap his neck. Unfortunately for me and fortunately for him, today was his lucky day.
Vermont stood up from the ground after he had finally regained his composure and wiped the dust away from his shirt before walking towards my cage.
"You almost cost me my life with your stupid display," Vermont said with a frown as he stopped in front of the cage.
"I was brought here to give this beast a child?" I asked him, ignoring his statement. "You... you really are heartless."
"You're just noticing now?" Vermont replied with a grunt before turning his back on me. He whistled, calling the attention of the guard that had been left at the gate. When the guard turned to him, he pointed to me and said, "She is ready."
