View MoreAfter throwing up black liquid for what feels like forever, I finally brush my teeth and walk out to the living room.Liam hasn’t left my side since I entered the bathroom, but Dallas grabs my hand as soon as I exit. Pulling me and Liam next to him, so he can be close to me.I lean my head on his shoulder and sigh. The pain in my stomach still there, but less. They walk me over to the couch, and I look for Hazel.I see her standing over the desk, holding all of her books and ingredients as she searches for something. She senses me looking at her and sighs heavily, then looks over at me. “I’m so sorry, Amy.” She whispers, and Dallas and Liam both tense next to me. I look at her confused, “For what?”She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath. “It didn’t work.” She says, then turns back to her things. It didn’t work.It didn’t work! All of that! And it didn’t work? I go to stand but can’t find the strength to fully pick myself up.“Damn it!!” Liam yells, standing next to me and helping m
We all stand in the field, waving good-bye to the helicopter until it was completely out of view, per Heather’s request. Granted I don’t think I could have stopped anyway, I feel like two pieces of my heart just flew away.I stand there clutching my heart, as Liam pulls me into his chest, kissing the top of my head. “They’ll be safe, and we’ll see them soon, Angel.” I nod, hoping like hell he’s right.Hoping everybody here is still standing when all of this is over. I look over at Hazel, who has tears in her eyes, and she smiles knowingly at me. “They’ll be okay.” She whispers and I nod.At least they won’t be in danger here.“Okay, let’s get this connection broken. The sooner we get things done, the sooner this can all finally be over.” Hazel says and everybody nods.We all stand in the living room of Liam’s house, while Hazel starts setting up around me.Candles at each point of a star she has placed on the ground, ingredients set up around me, that I’m not even sure I want to know
We stay up for hours, coming up with a plan. A plan to get the kids out and a plan for taking down my father. I’m trying so hard to stay awake, but I’m failing miserably. Liam keeps begging me to go to sleep, but I need to be apart of the plan. I can’t go into it half assed because I needed to sleep. The kids went to sleep a few hours ago so John and Julia are down here with us. “I don’t like this plan; I need to be here with the pack when this takes place.” John says, talking to Liam. “Dad, I get it, but you and mom are the only ones we trust to keep them safe.” Liam explains to him. Our group already got in a fight about this. I obviously can’t leave, which means Liam and Dallas won’t leave. Which means as Liam’s Beta Walker and Dallas’s mate Nick, they won’t leave. Which means Mia won’t leave. Hazel can’t leave, being our only witch which means Cole won’t leave as her mate. None of them are willing to sit aside while everyone else is in danger. So, in comes John and
Cole comes in carrying a small box of I don’t know what, but looking down at it. “Why was I sent on a mission to retrieve a bunch of random crap?” Cole says grinning looking up at Liam. Liam shrugs, “I don’t know, Hazel said she needed it.” Liam explains motioning to Hazel, Cole’s eyes follow his hand until they land on Hazel. The box of random crap falls to the ground, “Mate.” Cole nearly whispers, my eyes go wide as I stare between the two. “Hi Cole.” Hazel says casually. Cole walks over to her and kneels down next to her. “I asked for these things, specifically from you, because we needed to have a conversation before this…” She gestures between her and Cole, “was reveled.” I just gap at them, so happy that they found each other. Cole looks at the group frowning, “What conversation?” He asks, clearly not happy that he wasn’t included. I smile down at my hands shaking my head. She clearly wanted to have this serious talk, before her and Cole had their moment. Which t
I guess it makes sense that it’s my stress levels, every time the spells happen there’s some major thing happening. Granted, I’m not sure when my stress levels were ever at a normal degree lately. Liam goes on, “Okay, Hazel. Explain.” I know he wants to get this out of the way. See what explanation she has for why she did what she did to me. The plan will probably take up much more of our time than this. Hazel takes a deep breath, “Amy, you know I get feelings and can sense things that most people can’t.” She pauses and I nod. “Well, the night Nick and I got into a fight, not long after I joined you guys on the road. I had finally gotten the sense that you weren’t aware of Nick being a wolf. You were passed out in the hotel room so Nick and I went outside to talk about it. I told him I was going to tell you. I honestly didn’t really think about your father being the problem at the time, I just thought you deserved to know.” She pauses and looks at Nick sadly and he nods,
My cheeks are bright red as I sit up and face Heather. “You guys were kissing! Are you getting back together?” Heather exclaims loudly, I glance up at Liam and turn back to our daughter. “No sweetie, we got caught up in a moment, but your daddy and I have a lot to talk about. Let’s go downstairs and get something to eat.” I don’t look back at Liam, not wanting to know how he feels about what I said. I’m not sure it’s even true, I just don’t want to get my baby’s hopes up. They’ve been through enough with more to come, without adding this to the mix. I grab onto Heather’s hand and start leading her down the stairs, with Liam close behind. When we get downstairs Heather lets go of my hand and starts racing to the kitchen. “Griff! Griff! Mommy and Daddy were kissing!” She shouts to him and the entire room goes quiet staring between me and Liam. I can feel the heat rising in my cheeks. Goddess, if it wasn’t bad enough to have Heather see us kissing now everybody knows.
I wake up wrapped in Liam’s scent, I figure they must have taken me to Liam’s room to rest. When I open my eyes, I am in Liam’s room, but Liam’s arms are wrapped tightly around me. I look up and see him sleeping peacefully. I don’t want to wake him up, but I really have to go to the bathroom. I slowly try and make my escape, but he clamps down and pulls me closer to him. For a second, I just want to stay here and breathe in his relaxing scent, but I really have to go. “Liam, I have to pee.” I whisper, and he chuckles letting me go. When I walk out of the bathroom, Liam is sitting on the side of the bed. I suddenly get cold without his warmth, and I wrap my arms around myself. “How long was I out this time?” He looks at me sadly, “Six hours. Grab a hoodie from my closet and we should go down and see the kids. They’re worried about you.” I sigh, because I’m sure they are, especially now that they know I’m sick. I walk into his closet and grab a black hoodie he has folded
“What the fuck are you doing?” I ask Clara, who for some reason is touching my arm. She smiles, “I just came because I wanted to talk to you about my dads plans.” She says and moves her hands up my arm to my shoulder. I pull her hand off me, “We had no meeting scheduled for today. And I would prefer you not touch me. What are you trying to do?” She looks down and starts playing with her fingers. “Liam, you know we’ve been getting closer. I just don’t want her to come back and ruin what progress you’ve made getting over her.” She says and I chuckle, “You really are delusional, Clara. We haven’t been getting closer, we’ve been working together. And I’ve never made any progress getting over her, and if I had it wouldn’t have been with you.” Her mouth falls open and I see her tears brimming. “Liam, I…”‘Amy fainted, again!’ Dallas mind-linked me. I don’t bother listening to Clara and race down the stairs. Amy’s laying down on the couch with both the kids holding her hands
Liam pulls me down to sit in the chair and he sits in the one next to me now. “Okay, now that we figured out a semi-plan to deal with your father. I want to talk about you.” I look down at our hands still tangled together. “Liam, I just can’t focus on all of that right now. I need to finish this and make everybody safe.” He sighs, “I get that, but Hazel still isn’t here yet, and I have questions.” He says, and I sigh looking up into his eyes. He deserves to know about everything. “What do you want to know?” I ask and he releases a breath. “Was it you? Was it you who called me?” I can already feel the tears starting in my eyes. Being back here, just makes me want to forget about all those horrible years. I nod, “Yes Liam, I called you the day I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to tell you, but I knew you’d never stop looking if you knew I was carrying your child or children. And I called you a couple days after I had them, because I wasn’t well enough to call when I
My story starts with a boy. I’ve lived across the street from him since I was born. Liam, he’s at least six foot six, short brown hair, and the brightest green eyes you’ll ever see. He’s the future Alpha of the pack, but before we understood any of that, he was my best friend. He’s the one that use to take me to the creek behind his house and jumped in mud puddles and caught toads with. He’d protect me when someone was picking on me and bandage my knees when I fell down.My mind wanders back to a time when we were friends. “Liam! They’re coming!” I yell over the creek to where he’s fighting the invisible monsters. Liam runs over to me and jumps over a small opening in the creek, as I slip and fall into a muddy hill and pretend to be falling down. Liam grabs for my arms and pulls me up, throwing himself in front of me to face the oncoming monsters. “Don’t worry Amy. I’ll never let anyone hurt you.” He tells me as he looks into my eyes, then turns to face the monsters again. He loses hi...
