Another Chance

Darren and I sat together on a bench, feeling the cool breeze gently caress our faces.

Finally she was gone, Vivian had been banished. I hope she would be out of our lives for good.

I believed that this was finally our time, Darren and I, and after giving him another chance, I could only hope for a brighter future. One with him and our child.

Darren looked at me and I felt butterflies in my tummy. I could melt under his gaze as he smiled like I was the most precious thing he had set his eyes upon, with a deep breath he held my eyes his eyes glowing with a hint of nervousness. He cleared his throat and spoke, "Miranda, I want to make things right between us. I want to rebuild what we once had, to start anew."

My heart skipped a beat. Could this be the moment I had been yearning for? I met Darren's gaze, my eyes filled with hope, and replied, "Darren, I've been waiting for this. I long for our happiness together, leaving behind the past and embracing a fresh beginning."
