CHAPTER 50

ELODIE

“She is alright,” Kathy said for the tenth time. “There are no issues.”

I turned to Tedros with a playful grin. “See, I’m perfectly fine,” I said, giving him a reassuring pat on the arm.

He had driven to the hospital after we left Lucas' home. Even though I tried to stop him, he didn't listen and brought me to Kathy.

“Did you say she was unconscious?” Kathy questioned.

Turning my head to look at her, I found her eyes narrowed and her lips pressed into a thin line. Her fists clenched at her sides, trembling slightly as if she were barely restraining herself from lunging at Tedros.

“Yes, she was unconscious,” Tedros replied, not understanding the look on her face to be that of anger.

“How many days was she unconscious?”

“Five days.”

As soon as the words left Tedros’ lips, I knew he was done. And we would be so late and miss our ride to Huinsia.

If I knew all this was going to happen, I wouldn’t have gone to meet Lucas. Now, seeing that he is fine has made me a display case for Ka
