*First Person's Perspective*

~Enise~

The moment I stepped into my bedroom, I couldn’t contain the excitement that had been building up inside me all day. A loud squeal escaped my lips as I grabbed my phone from the bedside table, eager to call Lucian and tell him the good news. The first phase of our plan had been a success. Lucas had agreed to the investment, and now things were set in motion.

I quickly dialed Lucian’s number, my fingers trembling slightly with anticipation. It was hard to suppress the bubbling joy I felt. This was it. We were finally on our way to destroying everything Lucas had built, and I couldn’t help but relish the thought of it.

Just as the phone started ringing, I heard a knock on my door. I froze, phone still in hand, my heart suddenly racing. Who could it be? The knock sounded deliberate—quiet, but firm—and I knew it wasn’t one of the staff.

I turned the phone’s screen off and tucked it away in my pocket, trying to steady my breathing. The last thing I needed right now was Lucas catching me in such a vulnerable moment. I walked toward the door, still slightly giddy with the success of the plan, and opened it to find none other than Lucas himself standing in the doorway. His deep brown eyes locked onto mine, and for a brief moment, neither of us spoke.

My heart leapt in my chest, thumping so loudly I was sure he could hear it. Did he hear me squeal? What if he was suspicious? I couldn’t let my emotions give me away. I couldn’t risk him discovering what I was really after.

He didn’t say a word, just stood there, staring at me with that unreadable look on his face. I was caught off guard by the intensity of his gaze, but I quickly cleared my throat to break the silence.

“What are you doing in my room, Alpha Lucas?” I asked, my voice softer than I intended but still calm, controlled and collected

He didn’t respond immediately. His gaze lingered on me, and it felt like he was studying me, perhaps searching for something I wasn’t ready to reveal. Then, before I could say another word, he stepped forward and closed the distance between us in a heartbeat. His lips pressed against mine in a kiss so sudden and forceful that I had no time to react.

The kiss was unexpected, leaving me completely stunned. His lips moved against mine, demanding, and I could feel the heat of his body, the tension in the air. It lasted for what felt like an eternity, but it was only about two minutes before he finally pulled away.

I stood there, unable to move, my mind in a fog. I was too stunned to speak. The world around me seemed to blur, and my pulse pounded in my ears. What had just happened? Had Lucas really just kissed me?

He didn’t say anything as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. The warmth of his embrace was almost too much to handle. I could feel his heart beating against my chest, steady and strong, and I knew at that moment that something was shifting. Something dangerous.

But I quickly snapped out of the daze. No. This was not part of the plan.

I pulled away from him, my breath shallow and my chest tight.

“What are you doing, Alpha Lucas?” I asked, my voice firmer this time, more demanding than before.

He looked taken aback by my sudden distance. His eyes widened, and he opened his mouth as though to say something, but he faltered. “I… I’m sorry,” he muttered, his gaze dropping to the floor in embarrassment. “I shouldn’t have done that. I… I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”

I stared at him for a long moment, my thoughts racing. I could see the genuine regret in his eyes

“You need to keep yourself in check, Lucas,” I said, my voice much softer now. “I know I resemble your late wife, and seeing me might stir up some old feelings, but you need to understand that this is not right.”

He nodded quickly, almost too quickly. He seemed to agree with my words, but his eyes were clouded with something deeper—something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. “You’re right,” he said, his voice low. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have crossed that line. I—”

I held up my hand, cutting him off. “It’s fine,” I said, though it wasn’t fine. I needed him to feel the guilt, the shame, the internal conflict. That was what would make him vulnerable. “But just… stay away from me, Lucas. It’s not fair to either of us to let this go any further.”

He nodded again, clearly disappointed but trying to hide it. “I’ll leave you alone, Denise, I’m sorry.”

He turned to leave, but just before he stepped out of the room, I called out to him.

“Lucas,” I said, my voice soft but steady. “Please, sit down for a moment.”

He hesitated, then turned back to face me. He seemed to struggle with himself, but eventually, he walked over and took a seat at the edge of the bed. His posture was tense, as if he were still processing what had just happened. I sat across from him, keeping some distance between us. I didn’t want him too close. Not yet.

“I know this must be difficult for you,” I began, my voice calm, almost soothing. “I understand that I remind you of your wife. I look like her, I speak like her, maybe even act like her in some ways. But you have to understand that I’m not her. And what we just did… it wasn’t right. We can’t let ourselves get caught up in something that’s just a reminder of the past.”

He looked at me, his brow furrowed, and for a brief moment, I saw the man he once was—the man who had lost someone important to him. “I didn’t mean for this to happen,” he said, his voice rough. “I never meant to cross any lines.”

I leaned forward slightly, my expression softening. “I know you didn’t. But you need to keep your emotions in check. It’s the only way we can move forward.”

He nodded, slowly standing up from the bed. “I’ll leave you alone, Denise. Again, I’m sorry for what happened.”

As the door clicked shut behind him, I couldn’t help the sinister grin that spread across my face. It was brief, fleeting, but it felt so satisfying. I was succeeding.

I was luring him in, getting him to trust me, to care for me, and the more he let his guard down, the easier it would be to tear everything apart.

Lucas had a lot to lose, and he didn’t even know it yet. But I was patient. I had waited this long, and I would wait a little longer. The moment he fell in love with me, the moment he let himself believe that I was different from his late wife, was the moment he would lose everything.

I smiled to myself, the plan unfolding perfectly. He didn’t know it, but his downfall was already in motion. And there was no turning back now.

*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~The coffee shop was tucked away on the outskirts of town, far enough from the main streets that it was easy to disappear into the shadows, away from prying eyes. It was a quiet place, perfect for meetings like this—secretive, private. No one would suspect anything. I liked it.Lucian and I sat opposite each other in a booth near the back of the shop, the dim light casting soft shadows over the table. Our coffees sat untouched, as we both had more pressing matters on our minds. I leaned in slightly, excitement practically vibrating off me as I began to recount everything that had happened with Lucas.“Lucian, you won’t believe what happened today,” I started, my voice brimming with excitement. I could barely keep the grin off my face. “Lucas came to my room—”I watched as Lucian’s expression remained stoic, but I didn’t let it deter me. “—and kissed me, Lucian! He just… grabbed me out of nowhere, and for a few seconds, I thought I was dreaming. It w

*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~The silence in the air between Lucian and I was suffocating, but before I could collect my thoughts, Anna spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. Her gaze was locked onto us, wide-eyed and full of surprise. "I knew it. I knew it was you. It just had to be. All that facade was just too convenient to believe" She said and there was utter silence. No one spoke for about four minutes before she slid into the booth beside me and wrapped me in a tight embrace, her hands trembling slightly as she pulled me close. I stiffened at first, unsure of how to react to her sudden closeness but her warmth was comforting in a way that I hadn’t expected, or rather, in a way I didn't realize I needed. It brought back old memories and tears gathered in the corners of my eyes. She held me like she’d never let go, and before I could speak, I felt the warmth of tears trickling down her face. She was crying too"I missed you so much," she whispered into my ear, and I cou

*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~"I'm coming for you, you better run" Her voice echoed and the sound of laughter followed through Miracle and I were in the garden. We were running around, her laughter filling the air, and I couldn’t help but feel lighter than I had in a long time. For that brief moment, everything felt perfect. The sun was setting, casting a soft golden hue over the garden, and we were just two souls enjoying each other’s company, free of worries. But then, as I spun in circles with Miracle chasing after me, I suddenly felt a prickling sensation at the back of my neck. Eyes on me.I turned around to find Lucas standing by a corner, his posture stiff, arms crossed, just watching us. There was no expression on his face, as usual, so I couldn’t tell what was going on in his mind. His dark gaze was fixed on me, unblinking, as if trying to see right through me. The air between us felt thick, charged with something I couldn’t quite identify.I smiled faintly and waved.

*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~We continued our walk in silence for a while, the night air cool against my skin. The sound of our footsteps echoed in the quiet streets, and I could feel the distance between us growing smaller. But there was something about Lucas tonight, something different. His usual stoic demeanor was gone, replaced by a quiet vulnerability that made me uneasy.“She was the sweetest person I ever knew,” Lucas said suddenly again, his voice low and steady.I glanced at him, but he didn’t meet my eyes. His gaze was somewhere in the distance, lost in a memory I couldn’t reach. “You mother?” I asked softly“Enise,” he said, and my heart skipped a beat. “My ex-wife. She was kind-hearted, loving... shy, but still sweet.”I froze, and to say I was shocked is an understatement. Did he really just say that because he meant it? Or was he just trying to pull my legs. My heart raced as I turned to the window, my gaze locking onto the same bird from my first day here. It perched on the sill, its dark eyes staring directly at me. A shiver ran down my spine, and I quickly glanced away. That’s when I noticed it—a folded piece of paper sitting on my bedside table. My chest tightened as I reached for it, my fingers trembling slightly. Unfolding it, I read the chilling words scrawled across the page:*I see your plans are going the way you like it. The air in the room was thick with the scent of antiseptic. As I laid in the bed, my body ached from the recent labor, yet my heart was swelling with the purest love for the tiny life I had just brought into the world. I could still hear her soft cries echoing in my ears, a sound that had filled me with a joy I had never known before. My daughter. She was so small, so perfect. I was exhausted, but every thought of her made my heart flutter with happiness.I could not help but smile at how lovely and adorable she looked when I laid my eyes on her.I'm sure Lucas will love her. I mean why wouldn't he? He is the father after all.The sound of the door opening and footsteps approaching pulled me from my thoughts. My heart leaped in my chest, and I struggled to sit up.It must be Lucas. My husband, the Alpha. He hadn’t been there when I was rushed to the hospital in labor, but surely now he would come. Seeing our daughter, I believe he would look at me with love in his eyes, a love I

“Enise?” Anna’s voice was soft, like she was trying not to scare me.Her face was serious, but I saw something else in her eyes.Sympathy? Or was it pity? I didn't like the look on her face but before I could tell her, my vision blurred. When I opened my eyes again, I was laying in bed.I looked around, the memories from earlier crashing into my mind like a wave.I jerked up, wincing in pain but I Ignored it as I tried stepping down from the bed.“ At this rate, I'm afraid you'll be stuck here for months, Enise. Can't you be careful considering you have fresh stitches in your body?" A soft reproaching voice sounded from the door and Anna walked in.“Where is she?” My voice was barely a whisper. Anna sighed. “Enise, you need to focus on your health right now,” she said, avoiding my question. I shook my head weakly, the tears already burning in my eyes. “No, Anna, where is my daughter?” I tried to sit up, but my body was too weak, too shattered. The room spun, and darkness crept in.

Enise POV Five years later Screams, wails and cries of help filled my ears. The desperation as I banged the hot metallic door as I shouted for anyone to come to my rescue.Flames surrounded me,dancing alive, scorching the very same ground I stood. My heart raced as I screamed for help, my voice hoarse from yelling, but no one came. I pounded on the door, my fists raw and bleeding. The fire edged closer, the heat unbearable. At that moment, all I could see was Laura's face, an evil smirk on her face, a reminder of a promise she made when she confined me in those white painted walls. “ Enjoy your life while it lasts. I'll soon send you to hell." I smiled bitterly, my heart finally resigning to my fate. I collapsed on the floor and then… I jolted awake, drenched in sweat, my breath coming in short, rapid gasps. For a moment, I couldn't tell where I was. The memories of that night stirred something deep inside me. I sat up, clutching the sheets as though they were my only proof of

*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~Weeks had passed since I moved into Lucas’s mansion, and with each day, I found myself settling in more. At first, it felt like a temporary arrangement, like something I had to do to keep up the charade. But now, it was different. Living here, spending time with Miracle, and being in a place where everything seemed calm—it almost felt normal. Peaceful, even.I’d grown to care for Miracle in a way I hadn’t expected. Don't get me wrong, I knew I loved her so much, I mean it only made sense right? She was my daughter. But the bond grew and it was very intense. Almost like I couldn't do without seeing her for a day. She was such a sweet girl, and the bond I had with her was undeniable. We spent hours together, playing games, reading books, and just talking. I knew I was missing so much time with her while I had been away, but I was here now, and I made sure to savor every moment.Lucas had become closer to me in the past few weeks. We’d shared more mom

*First Person's Perspective*~Lucas~My fists clenched by my side as I paced back and forth in my office. Slade had crossed the line. I didn't care anymore about whatever twisted reason he had for what he was doing. If he wanted war, then he would get it. I had no intention of backing down now. Not when he hurt one of my own. Maybe I would have let shooting me slide, but this, I can never forgive this. I would make him pay dearly for it My pack had already been put through enough, and I wasn't going to let him use Dr Denise whom he was so interested in for whatever reason, I won't let him use her as an excuse to destroy my pack. To disrupt the peace I had fought so hard to maintain "I'm going to kill him," I muttered to myself, voice laced with venom. Marcus, who had been standing by the window, narrowed his eyes at me. "Slade's a problem, but I think you've got a bigger one right under your nose." Samson, sitting quietly across the room, simply grunted in agreement. I shot a gla

The atmosphere felt cold, and the tension in the air seemed to hang around me like a heavy cloud. I was already dreading the conversation that awaited me. I had no idea what Lucian was going to say, but I couldn’t ignore the unease that settled in the pit of my stomach. Something must have gone wrong. From the way he sounded, I knew something must have gone southI was here to meet him, and yet I wasn’t sure what kind of conversation we would have. When the elevator doors opened, I found him waiting for me in his usual spot by the window, his back to me as he stared out at the city skyline. The dim light from the room cast long shadows on his face, making him look almost unreadable.“Lucian,” I said softly as I approached, trying to keep my voice steady. He turned around, his lips curling into a half-smile as he nodded toward the ch
