All I wanted was to hear her voice. I would rather have her at my side, but I can’t. So hearing her voice is the next best thing. I wasn’t sure what I expected when I called her. But I didn’t expect to hear her friend in the background.
I wouldn’t have minded if her friend was a girl or a mated werewolf. But a human boy, single or not, I don’t trust humans. They don’t have a bond to their significant other as we werewolves do. So cheating doesn’t matter to them.
And I can hear his jealousy and judgment with every word the boy uttered. I don’t know how much she’s told him about me. Doesn’t matter. I suspect he’d be jealous no matter what.
“Do you want me to come? I could get my mom to drive me,” she offered. I chuckled softly. “God, I forgot you’re a pup. You probably don’t even have a learner’s permit, do you?” I sighed, shaking my head.
“Stop teasing me, old man,” she snorted. “How much older than you is this guy?” her friend questioned.
New chapters are posted Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Also, if you enjoy Alpha Logan, please check out my other books, The Princes of Ravenwood and His Pet (soon to be under exclusive contract).
I wish I could be there at Logan’s side. But I can understand why he says I can’t. I don’t want to put my family in danger. And I don’t want Logan to worry about me. He went through so much when he lost Suzu. So I have to take whatever precautions Logan wants for my safety, my family’s safety, and his sanity. After we hung up, I just had to remind myself he was not alone. He has his brother and daughter there. Not to mention a whole pack of werewolves that will help him through this. However, I found myself clenching my jaw at the idea of there being women in his pack that would happily offer him physical comfort. So help me, if he takes one of them up on the offer, I’ll kill the girl and then castrate him. But, wait, where did that come from? He’s not mine. ‘Yes, he is! He’s our mate. And we will defend what’s ours. Marked or not.’ Theia snorted in my head. ‘I'm not usually the jealous type.’ I sighed. “Yes, well, I am, and I have some amount o
The funeral was, as expected, a somber occasion. All members of the pack living in Mount Hood and some other cities had gathered outside my packhouse. Overall it was a good turnout. I’m sure many of the pack warriors who came from the other cities will be looking to help avenge the death of my parents. I need to come up with a plan. Siegfried needs to be put down. I can’t let him live. He is a danger to my pack, and he’s standing in the way of me being with my mate. I cannot and will not bring Aurelia into this war. I won’t risk her or her family being hurt by association with me. As soon as we completed the services, I called David to be brought to my office. I sat waiting for him with John in my office. “Why are you calling for Bryant again?” he asked, arching an eyebrow. “Because he knows who Aurelia is, and outside of this pack, he has a level of authority that means something to the humans,” I explained. “Ahh, so you’re going to entrust her
This was the moment of truth. I’ve put it all out there by shifting in front of my parents and Alex like this. Alex’s shamrock eyes went wide with fear as he scrambled over the back of the sofa. His reaction hurt but was expected. Mom let out a shrill scream before fainting in her chair. And dad... He was holding the left side of his chest with his eyes wide. Oh crap, I’m giving my dad a heart attack! I whimpered and took a step closer to check on dad. But before my muzzle could even get near him, he sunk further into the chair. ‘Don’t blame them. This isn’t something that a human could accept’ Theia sighed, trying to console me. I whimpered again and ran from the living room. My paws thundering against the ground as I went out the back door seeking refuge in one of the fields. Given that I’m bigger than a natural wolf in my wolf form, I don’t blame our horses for being unsettled by my presence as I leaped over the fence. I ignored
I was on edge the moment David and Mikali left my office. “She’ll be fine. David will conceal her scent. You really did think this through when you choose who to guard her,” John nodded. “I do that on occasion. And this is the safety of my mate we’re talking about,” I snorted. I won’t take chances with Aurelia’s safety. David was chosen not only because he has authority in the human world as a state trooper. Plus, he is mated, so I don’t have to worry about him hitting on my mate. Mainly he was selected for the special gift his family has. They can conceal their scent and the scent of another. So hiding her scent will be an added security. The last thing I need is anyone sniffing her out. She could get mistaken for a rogue even if she doesn’t smell as putrid as one. Or someone from a neighboring pack tries to force her to join their pack. It was rare for a werewolf to be born without a pack and not be a rogue. I need to get Siegfried han
I can’t believe I gave my dad a heart attack! ‘Alex said he was fine, but your mom insisted on an ambulance.’ Theia tried to sound encouraging. ‘Not helping. I still gave my dad a heart attack.’ I frowned. “Don’t blame yourself,” Alex nudged me as we reached the fence. “How can’t I? I tell you guys what I am, and look what happens. You hid from me, afraid of me. I can still smell your fear. Mom fainted. And dad…” My words trailed off as I saw my dad being put into an ambulance by two EMTs. “DAD!” I shouted and rushed across the yard to the ambulance. Mom still looked pale, with her arms wrapped around herself like she was cold. She wouldn’t even look at me. “What is his status?” David questioned, taking his badge from his back pocket. “Didn’t realize any law enforcement was on the scene. He’s stable. Probably just a mild attack. We’re taking him to Alliance Medical just to be sure,” one of the EMTs answered with little hesitation after seeing Da
‘ALPHA!!’ a voice shouted, waking me from my sleep. I groaned, squinting trying to determine what was on my face. “Ugh, Hana…” I groaned, pushing her little foot off my face. I love this girl, but she always seems to end up upside down in her sleep. ‘ALPHA!!’ the voice shouted again. It took me a moment to realize the voice was that of Mikali. ‘What’s happened?’ I growled, sitting up. ‘I am sorry I have failed you.’ Mikali whimpered. ‘WHAT HAS HAPPENED!?’ I demanded. I swear if something has happened to Aurelia. If someone’s hurt her. If she’s dead. I will lose my mind. Jericho and I will go feral and kill everything and everyone we see. ‘She’s missing.’ Mikali started. ‘What do you mean she’s missing?’ I questioned, getting out of bed. ‘Last night was very intense for her. Her family didn’t take the news that she was a werewolf well. Her mother wouldn’t even look at or speak to her.’ he said. My heart broke for my mate. I was also
I don’t even know how long I’d been crying before I fell asleep. I woke up when I heard the house phone and Mikali answering it. It must be mom calling to come home. I don’t know if I can face her. I don’t know if she’d even want to see me. I don’t even feel welcome in my own home anymore. I slowly got out of my bed, looked around my room, and heard Mikali starting the truck. My fingers traced the picture of my parents at my last riding championship and me. We looked so happy. They’d been so proud that I won. Now I was just a monster in their eyes. It would never be the same again. ‘What are you doing?’ Theia asked as I grabbed a bag and started to shove some clothes into it. ‘I’m leaving.’ I answered, and as a second thought, I grabbed the picture tossing it in the bag. ‘This is a bad idea.’ Theia sighed. ‘They don’t want me here. Learning what I am nearly killed, dad and mom won’t look at me. I can’t stay here. We can’t say here, Theia.’ I argued, hea
Silvercloud gave an excellent presentation. Using the information we’d gathered so far to get a general location of where Siegfried and his pack may be hiding. It's not enough to give a definitive location. Still, it was enough. I sent out scouts to start looking and get me an exact location. I want that bastard’s head on my wall. Once he’s out of the way, I can be with Aurelia, and my pack will be safe. And that’s all I really want. I was on edge through the whole meeting, waiting for any updates from Mikali or David. Once the meeting was over, I issued orders for scouts to investigate the area we thought Siegfried was hiding in. I took my phone out to call her. I wasn’t going to sit around idle. And maybe if she has her phone, we can track her. So help me if they don’t find her. “Silvercloud,” I called out, snapping my fingers before he could leave my office. “Yes, Alpha?” he questioned, turning around with his laptop under his arm. “I’m going
