I can’t believe I gave my dad a heart attack! ‘Alex said he was fine, but your mom insisted on an ambulance.’ Theia tried to sound encouraging.

‘Not helping. I still gave my dad a heart attack.’ I frowned. “Don’t blame yourself,” Alex nudged me as we reached the fence.

“How can’t I? I tell you guys what I am, and look what happens. You hid from me, afraid of me. I can still smell your fear. Mom fainted. And dad…” My words trailed off as I saw my dad being put into an ambulance by two EMTs. 

“DAD!” I shouted and rushed across the yard to the ambulance. Mom still looked pale, with her arms wrapped around herself like she was cold. She wouldn’t even look at me. “What is his status?” David questioned, taking his badge from his back pocket.

“Didn’t realize any law enforcement was on the scene. He’s stable. Probably just a mild attack. We’re taking him to Alliance Medical just to be sure,” one of the EMTs answered with little hesitation after seeing Da
