Chapter 6: His gift

Mia’s POV

I went back to my room in the basement and began packing absentmindedly.

I didn’t know why one I was going to choose, but whether it was the border or Full Moon Pack, I needed to pack my stuffs.

I didn't have much things—just a few old, patched dresses, which I folded neatly together. I only had the shoes on my feet, so there was no need to pack those. I had no suitcase, but my things could fit right into a bag.

Finally, I carefully took out a pair of gold earrings from my pillowcase and examined them under the dim light.

They were placed on my cradle when they found me on the doorsteps. The earrings were the only thing that my mom left me.

I always hoped that one day, these earrings would help me find my birth mother.

“Hey, Mia!”

Loud laughter came from the doorway.

Startled, I turned to see several maids gathered, grinning at me maliciously.

“Look who it is, our rising star!” Jenny giggled, making the face.
