Mia’s POV
Everyone looked at him in shock.
“What do you have to say to her?” Veronica shouted angrily, “She is a sneaky little slut! You must have been fooled by her last night—”
“Silence.” Draven said coldly.
Veronica shut her mouth abruptly, looking as if she just got slapped.
My father quickly stood up, bowing and smiling apologetically at Draven, “The thing is…Mia lost her mother when she was little, so she lacks proper education. I am afraid that she might offend you…”
Draven frowned impatiently. The soldier behind him snapped, “The Alpha has already asked you to leave.”
My father’s family shuddered. No one dared to argue, and they hurriedly left. Veronica shot me a venomous glare before leaving.
The door closed. And Draven said to me with a nod:
“Sit.”
I glanced at him and cautiously moved toward a nearby chair. But he clicked his tongue impatiently and pulled me onto his lap.
Burying his head into my shoulder, he took a deep breath, letting out a satisfied sigh.
I blushed, sneaking a glance at the soldiers.
Each of them stood straight, staring ahead, as if they hadn’t heard their Alpha’s groan.
“Are you sure your wolf isn’t strong?” he asked hoarsely.
“Yes, she almost never wakes up, nor speaks to me… Why?”
“My wolf likes your scent. And he seems to sense a certain… dark and strong power in you,” he said thoughtfully.
I almost laughed.
Dark and strong? Power?
No one had ever said those about me.
“What’s your relationship with the Alpha here?” he demanded.
“Alpha Carl is my father. My mother was a… prostitute.” I whispered the word, “…She left after giving birth to me.”
Saying those made me feel even smaller in front of him.
But he didn’t seem to care. With one arm around my waist, he extended a hand to a soldier.
“The contract.” He ordered.
The soldier pulled out a piece of paper and placed it on the table in front of me.
“I wanted to give it to you this morning. But after I am back from a meeting, you were gone already.” he said. “It saved me the trouble of finding you when I met you here. Look at the contract now.”
A sudden joy rose in my heart.
So he didn’t want to avoid me on purpose, he didn’t despise me, he just went to a meeting.
But then I realized something that made me feel more ashamed—
“…I can’t read.” I stammered.
Luna Helena hated me to the gut. She would never let me go to school.
He raised an eyebrow but didn’t mock me.
“Doesn’t matter. The contract is only about one thing,” he said, staring at me. “I want you.”
I looked at him blankly, “Me?”
“Yes, you.” He nodded, “Sign this contract and come back to the Full Moon Pack with me. In return, I give you anything you want.”
I was stunned.
The uncrowned king of the Northern world…wants ME?
Of all the women he could choose from, he picked ME?!
“But…why?” I blurt out.
It couldn’t be because of my performance last night, could it?
He looked deeply at me, “I like your scent. I’ve had insomnia for a long time, but last night, with your scent, I slept well.”
I blushed.
I thought we hardly slept last night.
“You wouldn’t think it was because of the sex, would you?” he smirked. “You are a cute little wolf. But you still have much to learn in bed.”
God, his soldiers were listening!
I wished I could vanish in thin air.
He chuckled and rubbed my lips with his rough thumb, then planted a kiss on my lips.
“Think about it, little wolf. I don’t care about that stupid sister of yours, but I want you with me when I depart in 3 days.”
With that said, he stood up and left the room with his soldiers.
I stood there frozen, holding the contract, my thoughts in turmoil.
Alpha Draven wants me.
But I was not even his mistress because mistress had a title.
I was just a…plaything. Someone to have fun with in bed.
BANG!
The living room door flung open again. Veronica rushed at me, grabbing my hair and roared:
“You slept with Alpha Draven?! HOW DARE YOU!!!”
“I... I didn’t know who he was…” I begged with tears, “please let go…”
Helena came in as well. She asked Veronica with a frown, “What was that, sweetie? Weren’t we going to reject Alpha Draven?”
“But he’s so young and handsome, nothing like the rumors!” Veronica said excitedly. “And think about it, Mom. If I become his Luna and survive, I’ll be the most prestigious woman in the Northern world! All the small packs will respect us!”
That was true.
The Full Moon Pack was the largest pack in the Northern world. Marrying Draven would mean marrying into power and wealth.
Helena’s cheeks flushed with excitement, “Indeed, but those rumors... Hey Mia! What’s he like in bed last night?”
They both stared at me.
I felt extremely ashamed, not wanting to tell them my private life, but I had no choice.
“He... was gentle,” I said lowly.
“What?!” Veronica shrieked. “He’s an Alpha! How could he be gentle with a whore like you?”
“H—He was gentle at first… but then he got a bit rough… I don’t know…”
I stammered. Last night’s scenes flashed through my mind. My body heat up again.
Helena looked at me with disgust, “Anyway, she survived after sleeping with Alpha Draven, so his wives didn’t die in his bed.”
“They must have died of their own ignorance.” Veronica said disdainfully. “I’m different. I’m smarter and stronger than all of them combined.”
“And why did Alpha Draven want to talk to you in private?” Helena demanded?
I quickly hid the contract in my pocket, not wanting them to see it.
“He... he simply asked a few things about you...” I lied.
Veronica beamed, “Really? I knew he had nothing to say to a slut like you! What did he say about me?”
I stammered, “He said that...Veronica is very beautiful and asked how old she is...”
I had to make up something.
I couldn't tell them that Alpha Draven called Veronica my “stupid sister.”
Veronica flipped her hair with a smile, “Of course he would notice my beauty. Didn't you tell him that I love music and am great at hunting? You are so bad at this, Mia!”
“We might need to prepare your wedding dress right now! Alpha Draven has definitely fallen for you!” Helena exclaimed with joy, “Spend more time with him at tonight’s party!”
“Yes, mom! Maybe in 3 days, he won't even consider other candidates and will announce me as Luna straight away!”
Helena glanced at me, her smile vanishing as she said with disgust, “Don't just stand there! Go pack your things! The day your sister leaves with Alpha Draven, you're going to the border as well!”
Blushing with shame, I lowered my head and left the living room, their excited laughter trailing behind me.
The contract in my pocket felt like a burning brand.
And I suddenly realized something.
If I don't sign the contract, I'll have to go to the border and become a camp whore.
Mia’s POVI went back to my room in the basement and began packing absentmindedly.I didn’t know why one I was going to choose, but whether it was the border or Full Moon Pack, I needed to pack my stuffs.I didn't have much things—just a few old, patched dresses, which I folded neatly together. I only had the shoes on my feet, so there was no need to pack those. I had no suitcase, but my things could fit right into a bag. Finally, I carefully took out a pair of gold earrings from my pillowcase and examined them under the dim light. They were placed on my cradle when they found me on the doorsteps. The earrings were the only thing that my mom left me.I always hoped that one day, these earrings would help me find my birth mother.“Hey, Mia!”Loud laughter came from the doorway.Startled, I turned to see several maids gathered, grinning at me maliciously.“Look who it is, our rising star!” Jenny giggled, making the face.“…What do you mean?” I asked.“Stop hiding! Marcus told us everyth
Mia’s POVI stared at him in shock. He didn’t want me to hang his clothes, but wanted me to be his date for tonight’s party?!These people had always been mean to me, never even taking a serious look at me.Why is he being so nice tonight?I tried to pull my hand back, but he held on tight, his gaze hot on me. “Why haven’t I seen you in the Dark Fang pack before? What’s your name?”That’s when I realized—he didn’t recognize me at all.“Elijah!”His friends came rushing over. A curly-haired girl glared at me and snapped at Elijah, “What are you doing? You are supposed to be Veronica’s date! She is going to be mad when she gets here!”Elijah rolled his eyes. “So what! Let her be mad. I am so sick of Veronica’s princess attitude. Besides, she’s not as pretty as this lady right here.”The curly-haired girl stomped her foot. “Veronica is the Alpha’s daughter! Who the hell is this nobody?!”I was surrounded by these rich kids, sweating nervously.“Look at her dress, her aura. She has gotta
Mia’s POV“Th-Thief?”I stared at her in shock. This dress was clearly a gift from Alpha Draven! How could it be Veronica's?“I-I didn't!” I raised my trembling voice, trying to explain. "This dress is mine!""LIAR!"Veronica yanked up my skirt, revealing my worn-out shoes, and shouted:"Look at your filthy, old shoes! If you could afford an expensive dress like this, why not get decent shoes to match? And those cheap gold earrings? They don't go with a dress like this! Anyone with taste knows that you should at least wear diamond!"My face turned red with anger as I glared at her."So, this dress is definitely stolen!" Veronica declared loudly. The guests looked at me with suspicion, whispering words like "whore" and "thief."My anger and frustration grew.I clenched my fists and cried back, "I didn't steal it! It was a gift from Alpha Draven!"The moment I mentioned his name, my heart raced. The room went silent, then erupted in laughter. The rich boys shook their heads, the girls r
Mia’s POV“Y-You gave it to her?” Veronica gasped in horror. “How is that possible?!”My Alpha parents and all of Veronica’s friends looked at me with shock and disbelief, as if they just knew me this very day.Draven glared at her, a storm looming in his dark eyes. “Are you questioning me?”Veronica's legs went soft, and she nearly collapsed in fear. She wouldn't dare question Draven. After a moment, she stammered, “I-I must have mixed it up. There’s a dress just like it in my closet.”“Impossible, ” said the soldier behind Draven’s back.I recognized him as the one who gave the dress to me and helped me snatch the earring back from the mean maids.“When I bought this dress, the shop assistant assured me that there is only dress like that in the whole world and Miss Mia is wearing it right now.” he turned to Veronica with cold eyes. “If that is the case, how could you have one exactly like it?”Draven smirked. “Are you sure, Adam?”“Absolutely certain, Alpha. I know nothing about fas
Veronica’s POV“Mom, look! Even Elijah is talking to that bitch now!” I growled, tears of humiliation welling up in my eyes. Not just Elijah, but several other Gamma and Alpha’s sons were fawning over that bitch.I wanted to rip her innocent-looking face apart and poke her doe-like eyes!“No one asked me to dance today! I’m ruined!” I screamed in frustration. My mom Helena held my hand tightly and said through gritted teeth, “Don’t cry, dear. You are way out of those stupid boys’ league. Remember, you are going to marry Alpha Draven!”Fear surged in my heart.“But, Mom, Alpha Draven just called me a shameless liar because of Mia! And he didn’t dance the first dance with me,” I said, terrified. “Do you think he hates me now?”“No way,” my mom said firmly. “You are an Alpha’s daughter, and your wolf is strong and beautiful. What does that bitch have? And didn’t Mia say that Alpha Draven asked about your age and said you were beautiful? He definitely likes you.”That made me relax a litt
Mia’s POVI screamed and shoved him off hard.Marcus stumbled back, looking desperate.“Easy, Mia, it’s me!”I was breathing heavily as I glared at him. “I know it’s you, but what are you doing?!”“I... I...”He stammered, then took a deep breath and stepped forward.“I came to apologize!”Apologize? I was shocked.“I shouldn’t have slept with Veronica,” he said, looking at me pleadingly. “But she seduced me! She came to my room in just her underwear... I cheated on you all because Veronica is such a slut!”All Veronica’s fault?I looked at him in disbelief.Did he think he had done nothing wrong in this?“You called me a whore and said you chose Veronica because she’s the Alpha’s daughter. You even told the maids you were lucky to have dumped me early, or I’d embarrass you. You said those things yourself! Did you forget?” I snapped at him.He looked embarrassed and let out an awkward laugh, “I was just joking. You don’t have to be so petty, OK? Getting hung up over a few simple words
Mia’s POV“Don’t worry, Mom,” Marcus said smugly. “Veronica said as long as I help her this time, she’ll give me 100 grand. We don’t have to worry about money anymore!”“100 grand! That’s way more than that little slut gave us in two years!” Carol gasped, then added, “Oh son, if you could be with Veronica, you could get as much money as you want. Didn’t you say that she slept you once?”Marcus grumbled, “You think I don’t want that? But Mia messed it all up! Whatever, let’s get the 100 grand first.”“Yeah you are right.”My heart ached.Marcus’s mom’s heart disease... was fake?Just to scam money from me?!I did everything I could to pay for her medical bills. I was still wearing my worn-out shoes. And I often had low blood sugar from skipping breakfast, thinking it would save more money and help Marcu’s mom recover faster...But it was all a lie!Tears streamed down my face.I thought, despite all the bullying, at least Marcus and his mom were kind to me in the Dark Fang Pack. But th
Mia’s POVVeronica’s legs gave out. She fell to her knees, staring at us in disbelief.“You… you were waiting for her?” she screamed. “But you came here for your Luna, and I’m the only one in the Dark Fang Pack who deserves to be your Luna! What does she got?!”Draven sneered. “You? You couldn’t even pass the first round. Why would I waste my time waiting for you? If it wasn’t for Mia, I would’ve left long ago.”Veronica pulled at her hair, shaking her head in disbelief. “No, no, I don’t believe it. The first time you saw me, you said I am beautiful… Remember?! You even asked how old I was. If you weren’t interested in me, why would you ask!!!”“When did I say those? You don’t come close to being beautiful.” Draven looked at her with disgust. “Crazy woman.”Veronica screamed again, and Alpha Carl covered her mouth.I gulped seeing Veronica’s crazy reactions.I told her all those things. But I just said it as a way to stop her from bothering me. I didn’t think she’d believe it so firml
Camille’s POVAfter I said that, I bit my lip nervously and waited.A moment of silence later, Aunt finally spoke, her voice carrying a tone of cold reproach:“This is your second failure, Camille. Last time, when you said you’d have that whore’s daughter die of a high fever, I thought you’d succeed. But instead, she became even more intimate with Alpha Draven. And now, you’ve failed again. Should I trust you a third time, Camille?”My body trembled with shame and anxiety.I gripped the phone tightly and blurted out, “Of course! Please trust me one more time! This time, I’ll definitely succeed in killing Mia!”Aunt snorted softly, “What’s your plan?”I had already thought of a thorough plan before making the call, just needing someone to help me execute it.“That girl is a slut, she loves fooling around with men outside, and Draven has already s
Mia’s POVTears blurred my vision as I looked at him, waiting for his reaction.Part of me hoped he would rush over and hold me tight, telling me he loved me too.But the miracle didn’t happen. After a moment, his voice came again, cold as ice: “Don’t ever let me hear those words again.”My heart shattered.More tears streamed down my face as I cried in despair, not daring to make too much noise.“Stop it!” he said harshly. “This is what you signed up for! I made it very clear before bringing you here, you can't fall in love with me, we only have a physical relationship, it's better for both of us!”I looked at him through my tears, saying nothing. He let out a breath, looking even more agitated, and said coldly, “Think about it. If you really want to ignore the terms, there seems to be only one way to solve this problem—”“No!” I
Mia’s POVMy mind went blank.Shit. How did I forget about Camille? She would never miss a chance to drive a wedge between me and Draven! The thing I tried so hard to hide was laid bare so bluntly.I'm done for.I felt cold all over, struggling to lift my head and look at Draven. He was staring at me too, his deep eyes brewing a storm.“A man?” He said in a low, dangerous voice, still looking at me. “What’s his name?”“Lady Camille didn’t say. She said if you want to know more, she’d be happy to come in and describe the situation in person—”BANG!Draven grabbed a glass and smashed it on the floor, the sound of shattering glass making me shiver.“Tell her to fuck off!” he roared. The guard didn’t need to be told twice, he immediately turned and left the room. All the servants filed out, leaving the two of us
Mia’s POVI froze in place, awkwardly looking at him.… I didn’t expect him to see through my identity so quickly.Seeing me remain silent, Osborn’s expression grew even darker, and he sneered, “I heard Alpha Draven brought a mistress back from outside. So, it’s you?”“That’s right.” I took a deep breath, feeling very humiliated. “I know you look down on mistresses. So there’s no need for us to keep talking.”With that, I turned to leave, but he grabbed me again.“What’s so great about Alpha Draven?” he scoffed. “Don’t you know he’s had 8 dead wives? And yet you still dare stay by his side?”“Those were his wives. I’m not his wife. What’s there to fear?”He stiffened. “You have a point. But since you’re Alpha Draven’s mistress, why are you helping that woman named Ver
Mia’s POV“Why are you here?” I blurted out.Seeing the surprise on my face, Osborn grinned. “I told you we'd meet again.”But I never imagined we’d meet under these circumstances!“Wait, are you the owner of this antique shop?” I asked in disbelief. He shrugged, leaning against the windowsill with his arms crossed. “Do you think I am?”I looked him up and down, suspicious. He looked like a nobleman. But every noble I knew was arrogant and cold, looking at me like trash. None of them were as approachable as Osborn. After a pause, I hesitated. “You can’t be, right? Aren’t you just a chauffer? How could you afford to own an antique shop like this?”He suddenly laughed.“You’re right, I am just a chauffer!” He stood up straight, smiling warmly at me. “This shop belongs to my master, House Longford. I help out sometime
Mia’s POVTo my surprise, a middle-aged man in a suit walked into the store. He had an air of elegance and grace.“Mr. Black?”Camille seemed to know him. She seemed shocked. “What are you doing here?”The man named Black gave Camille a polite nod and said, “The owner of this store heard what happened. He sent me here to ensure Miss Mia and her friend have a pleasant shopping experience.”The owner of this store?I blinked in surprise.I thought Camille owned this store. Was I wrong? And why would this mysterious owner stick up for me?“Mia, what’s going on?” Veronica whispered to me, sounding confused. “Do you know this Black guy? And what’s all this about a owner?”“I don’t know him... and I have no idea what’s happening.” I was just as confused.Could this store belong to Draven? But if it did, Li
Mia’s POV“There... there is one more special gown. Perhaps you’ll like it!”The clerk hurried to the back of the store.Moments later, she returned with a mannequin wearing a vintage gown.My eyes lit up, and so did Veronica’s.The gown was a deep, rich purple, adorned with countless pearls and diamonds, like the brightest stars in the night sky. The skirt was embroidered with intricate gold patterns, telling a tale of ancient and mysterious legends. Every stitch and thread exuded an indescribable elegance, like a serene noble waiting for her arrival.“This is our prized possession, once owned by a famous dancer.” The clerk’s voice was soft and warm, as if breathing life into the gown.Veronica’s face flushed with excitement. She didn’t even bother to try it on before shouting, “This is it! I want it!”All the clerks sighed in relief, and I felt a w
Mia’s POVAfter that incident, there were only three days left until the masquerade ball.I hadn’t forgotten my mission to help Veronica win the nobles' favor at the ball. With time running out, I took Veronica to the fanciest boutique in the Full Moon Pack as soon as I was able to get out of bed.We arrived at the boutique, and the display window was filled with sparkling jewelry and gorgeous evening gowns, almost calling out to us.But as we got closer, the clerk at the door gave us a disdainful look, like we were two obnoxious flies.“Sorry, ladies, this is a members-only store. Do you have a membership?” The clerk’s voice was cold and uninterested. He looked us up and down, clearly confident that people like us wouldn’t have a membership.I felt a bit flustered. I didn’t know this store required a membership. When I asked Lia where to get a dress, she just told me this store was the best c
Mia’s POV"Spy? Are you kidding me?"I was stunned. This was the most ridiculous accusation I'd ever heard! But it was an effective one because if they believed it, not only would Laura go unpunished, but I'd be executed!Camille was both clever and ruthless."Just because I killed a hunting dog, you think I'm a spy? That's absurd!" I cried, my voice shaking. "That dog was about to bite my neck. Was I supposed to stand still and let it?""It's not the killing of Betty that makes us suspicious. It's your secrecy," Camille sneered, her malice plain. "Why didn't you tell us you had no wolf?""Because I really don't...""Then how did you kill Betty? Betty could take down a young bear on her own!"I started sweating. I didn't even know what had happened! Why did my wolf suddenly appear and disappear? I couldn't explain it myself!"Enough!" Veronica suddenly snapped. "You're accusing Mia of being a s
