"I am not going back to that Pack," I said to Xavier, the Alpha of the Half Moon Pack.
"I know you don't want to leave, and I don't want you to leave either, but we don't have a choice. The Alpha is getting impatient. It has been two weeks since you received the summon letter to return to the Full Moon Pack, and he wants you there by tomorrow morning. He is sending someone to get you," Alpha Xavier said, and I sighed. "Fine. I will go and pack my bags," I said, knowing there was no other choice. "Everything will be okay," Alpha Xavier said, and I smiled at him before leaving his office and heading to my room to pack my belongings. I didn't believe everything would be fine. Not anymore. My name is Justina Summers. I am a seventeen-year-old senior and am from the Full Moon Pack. Ordinary wolves shift at sixteen, but I haven't shifted yet. I am worried I never will because I will be eighteen in four months. The closer a werewolf gets to eighteen without shifting, the less of a chance they have of ever getting a wolf. A knock on my door takes me out of my thoughts, and my Aunt Fiona walks inside and immediately hugs me."I heard the news from Alpha Xavier. Are you okay?" Aunt Fiona "I don't want to go back," I replied as I hugged her back. "I know, but it might be for the best. You can't run from your problems forever," Aunt Fiona said. I knew she was right. It was time for me to face my past, but that didn't make it any easier. Just thinking about what happened hurt more than anything in the world. One Year Ago "Justina, are you listening to me?" My best friend Danielle asked. We were in the cafeteria eating lunch at school. "What did you say?" I asked, and Danielle looked in the direction I was. Chace was sitting at a table with my Twin brother Justin and their Jock friends. "Girl, when are you going to get over your crush on Chace? He is the future Alpha of the Pack and your brother's best friend," Danielle said. I knew she was right. He wasn't interested in me and could have any she-wolf he wanted. Why would he like me? Two days later It was Chace's eighteenth birthday, and he was able to sense his Mate. His parents were throwing him a party in the Packhouse so that he could find his Mate. All the she-wolves hoped they were his Mate, and so did I. "You ready to go?" Justin asked as he walked into my room "Yep," I replied. "No, you are not. Go change," Justin said, and I rolled my eyes. I wore a red sundress that reached mid-thigh and black high-heeled shoes. My hair was hanging down my back. "No, I am not changing, Justin. There is nothing wrong with my outfit," I replied and walked past him out of my room after grabbing my purse. "If I have to kill some guy for hitting on you, it will be your fault," Justin said as we got in the car. "Whatever," I replied, and he took off towards the Packhouse. "You look beautiful, Justina," Luna Greta said at the front door. "Thank you," I replied as Justin and I walked into the Packhouse. "Stay out of trouble," Justin said "You too," I replied, and we parted ways. Danielle showed up about thirty minutes later wearing a black dress that barely covered her. You could see her red thong and bra. She never cared about things like that. She loved male attention. Everyone wondered how I could be best friends with her, but she had always had my back, and I had hers. "Okay, everyone. This is the moment we have all been waiting for. Chace is here,” Luna Greta said Chace walked into the house, and everyone screamed Surprise. I was shocked at what happened next. Chace and My eyes connected, and I knew he was my Mate. I was so happy because my dreams had finally come true. The man I had always wanted to be my Mate was. My happiness was destroyed before it could begin because Chace did something that broke my heart. He walked away from me as if he didn't feel the bond crushing my heart. "What was that about?" Danielle asked after everyone went back to partying. "I need to tell you something," I said, and we went outside to talk away from everyone. "Wait a minute, you and Chace are Mates?" Danielle asked "Yes," I replied "Are you sure? You are not eighteen yet. You wouldn't be able to feel the bond yet," Danielle said. "I am positive, Danielle. You know, if your Mate is eighteen and you are sixteen or older, you can sense your Mate. I might not have a wolf yet, but I can feel the bond," I said "I can't believe this. You are mated to Chace, who will be the next Alpha soon. This is not fair," Danielle said, shocking me. "What," I asked"You get everything, even an Alpha Mate," Danielle said
"What are you talking about, Danielle?" I asked, confused. Was she seriously upset that I was mated to Chace because he was going to be an Alpha? "I am sorry. I had too much to drink. I am going to go and take a walk, okay?" Danielle asked "Okay," I replied and went back into the Packhouse. An hour later, I decided to look for my brother because I was ready to go. I hadn't seen Chace or Danielle since I told her what happened. I went outside to where Justin and his friends usually hung out. I was shocked at what I saw when I arrived. Justin and his friends were nowhere in sight. Instead, Danielle and Chace were together, kissing each other passionately. My heart started to hurt as I watched Chace's hands roam her body. I was so shocked I couldn't move. Then, Danielle's eyes connected with mine, and she had a smile on her face as Chace started kissing her neck.I ran all the way home. I felt like I could pass out at any moment from the heartache I was feeling.
"Justina, what's wrong? Are you hurt? Is your brother okay?" My mom asked worriedly as I ran into our house. "No, I am fine. Justin is still at the party. I am not feeling that good and am going to bed," I replied and headed to my room. I couldn't sleep that night. I couldn't believe my Mate and best friend had betrayed me.The following day, I asked my mom if I could move to the Half Moon Pack with my Aunt Fiona, telling her I needed to get away for a while. It took a lot of convincing, but she agreed, and Justin drove me there the following day.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Justin asked worriedly. We were at the Half Moon Pack, and he was about to leave to go back to the Full Moon Pack.
"I am fine. You don't have to worry about me," I replied
"Then come home. Whatever is going on, we can talk about it. I can help you. I am your twin, and I know something is bothering you. I can feel that you are hurting inside," Justin said. Justin and I had a connection. We were twins and could tell when the other was hurting. I didn't want to cause any problems for him, and I knew if I told him what happened to Chace, he would be furious.
"I am fine. I promise," I replied, and he sighed.
"Okay, but if you change your mind, all you have to do is call me. I am going to miss you," Justin said and hugged me.
"I will miss you too," I replied. We had never lived away from each other, and it would be hard not to see him every day, but I knew I couldn't stay in the Full Moon Pack, not after everything that happened with Chace and Danielle.
I promised myself that I would never forgive either of them. I was never going back to the Full Moon Pack, but now I didn't have a choice because the Alpha had summoned me home.
What I didn't understand was why.
Justina's Point Of View "We are all going to miss you," Luna Penelope said as we waited for whoever the Alpha Mark, Chace's father, had chosen to come and pick me up. I still didn't know why Alpha Mark wanted me to come back to the Full Moon Pack. "I am going to miss all of you, too," I replied. "Someone is headed this way," Alpha Xavier said, and we headed outside. A white escalade limo stopped in front of the Packhouse. "Justin," I squealed when my brother exited the lima. I ran to him and hugged him tightly. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming to pick me up when I spoke to you yesterday?" I asked "I wanted it to be a surprise. I told Mom not to tell you anything. I missed you so much, Justina," Justin said "I missed you too," I replied. I said my goodbyes to everyone from the Half Moon Pack while Justin and some of the warriors put my bags in one of the cars that were surrounding the limo. There were two BMWs in front and behind the limo. "If you need anything, just
Chace's Point Of View "She doesn't want to speak to you, man," Justin said as he walked into my office. I wasn't surprised, especially with how I treated Justina on my eighteenth birthday when I sensed she was my Mate. I had always been in love with my best friend's twin sister, but she was off-limits. It took so much strength for me not to take her in my arms and mark her that night, but it was the only way to keep her safe. "She hates me, doesn't she?" I asked Justin, and he sighed "She doesn't hate you, but she is upset with you and has every right to me. You should have handled things better," Justin replied. "I know, but you know why I did what I did. My father would have killed Justina if he found out she was my Mate," I replied. No one in my Pack knew my mom and dad were not Fated Mates. My father had rejected his Fated Mate and killed her for Justina and Justin's mother, Laura when he turned eighteen years without telling her. He has always been obsessed with her. He wa
Justina's Point Of View I couldn't believe Chace thought I would go and speak to him just because he said so. I don't care if he is the new Alpha of the Pack. I am not going to let him boss me around. I don't even want to be here anyway. Yes, I missed my mom and Justin, but I didn't want to be anywhere near Chace. Not only did he force me to come back to the Full Moon Pack. He also had my mom and Justin move into the Packhouse. I knew he did that because he wanted me close to him. I was no fool. I knew what Chace wanted. He had finally accepted me as his Mate, and that was why he sent for me. Just because he accepted me now didn't mean I was going to accept him. I walked out of my room, needing to get some air. "I was just about to come and get you. Look who is here," My mom said as I walked into the living room. "Courtney," I squealed, excited to see her. I hadn't seen Courtney since we were in middle school. Courtney is Chace's sister. She had moved away when we were in the ei
Justina's Point Of View "I can't believe my babies are seniors," My mom said. We were in the kitchen eating breakfast. It was Justin and My first day of senior year. It had been four days since I moved back to the Full Moon Pack, and I spoke to Danielle and Slapped Chace. I haven't seen either of them since. Justin and Courtney told me that Chace was trying to give me some space. I was sure he wasn't going to leave me alone for long. I was happy it was a school day because Chace had graduated last year, and I wouldn't have to worry about running into him. After talking with Courtney, I was sure Danielle was lying about Chace raping her, but that didn't mean I wanted to speak to him. Even if he didn't rape her, he might have had sex with her. I hated thinking of him with her or any other woman for that matter. It hurt just thinking of his cock being inside of another woman's pussy. He was supposed to be mine and mine alone. It also hurt knowing that he thought I was weak. Courtney m
Justina's Point Of View "Chace called for a mandatory training for all Pack Members in an hour. It's going to take us about thirty minutes to get home, so you need to get ready," Justin said as he drove us home from school. "Does he normally have surprise training?" I asked "No, not really," Justin said "I am not going," I replied, and Justin sighed. "You are a part of this Pack, Justina. You have to attend mandatory training and meetings. It would be good for you to train and get stronger," Justin said "Are you saying I am weak?" I asked, offended. I knew most werewolves thought I was weak because I didn't have a wolf. "That is not what I said, Justina. I am only saying it's good for everyone to train. Alpha Mark wouldn't let wolfless members train, but Chace believes everyone should train so they can learn to protect themselves. That was one of the first rules he changed when he became Alpha. Everyone thirteen and older trains whether they have a wolf or not. "Really," I aske
Chace's Point of View When Danielle challenged Justina, and Justina accepted the challenge, I was so worried. I knew Danielle was up to something. I wanted to rip her apart. I was worried she would hurt my Mate because Justina hadn't gotten her wolf yet. I could have demanded that Danielle and Justina didn't fight. Justina was my Mate, and Luna and Danielle had no right to challenge her, but I knew Justina was right. If she didn't fight Danielle, everyone would see her as weak. Many of the Pack Members already saw her as weak because she hadn't shifted yet. I knew how much that hurt her, knowing that people looked down on her. That is why I decided to let the fight go on, but I watched closely to make sure that Danielle didn't hurt Justina. When Danielle shifted into her wolf, I shifted as well, but before I could make my move to attack Danielle for trying to harm my Mate, Justina went into action. I was shocked when Justina broke Danielle's wolf's leg and caused her to shift back
Chace's POVAs soon as I walked into Daniells's hospital room, I could see the worry on her face. She knew I was upset and ready to punish her for challenging my Mate and her Luna. She would be punished, but not the way I wanted. I planned on banishing her from the Pack and turning her into a Rogue, but I had promised Justina that I wouldn't do that, and I planned on keeping my promise to her."Are you going to kill me?" Danielle asked worriedly"As good as that sounds to me after you tried to hurt my Mate, I can't do that. For some reason, Justina feels sorry for you even though you don't deserve her pity. I promised I wouldn't hurt you. That doesn't mean I am going to let you get away with challenging her and lying to her, saying we did more than kiss that night," I said"Are you going to banish me?" She asked"No, though that was my first choice. Justina doesn't want me to banish you either," I said, and a smile appeared on her face. "But as I said before, that doesn't mean you are
Justina's Point of View I listened to Chace's story without interrupting him. I was shocked at what he had told me, especially about his father. I never knew Alpha Mark was so evil. He seemed to care about the Pack and was always nice to me. I never would have guessed he was abusing Chace's mom and him. "Why would Alpha Mark mistreat you and your mom? He was always nice to everyone and took care of the Pack," I asked. "He cared for his Pack, but he hated being mated with my mom," Chace said "But they were Mates," I replied "They were not Fated Mates, Justina. They were chosen mates," Chace replied, shocking me. Then I thought about it. Normally when someone loses their Mate, they are very sad and don't want to be around anyone. The pain they feel from losing their Mate can kill them, or they can become crazy from losing their Mate, but Luna Greta seems fine. In fact, she seems to be happier than when Alpha Max was alive. "That is why she isn't hurting. They aren't fated, Mates,"
