Drake

Seventeen years three hundred and sixty-four days he spent waiting for her.  Longer than that if you counted his days not on earth.  But last night at midnight the wait was over.  She had been there just where she was supposed to be, and just as the prophecy had said.  Drake rolled over in his oversized bed covered in red egyptian cotton.  It was all going to happen she was going to be his, for eternity.  "Happy birthday Alyssa." he said to his empty room.  She wouldn’t understand at first reasonably so but, she would come around and she would accept her destiny.  It was long awaited, their union.  He would meet her in that place today and she would embrace the darkness then it shall begin, the end of all things.  He clapped, hurried out of bed and yelled for Claudia, his house maid.  "Claudia, we must make sure everything is perfect before the lady of the house arrives." he said with a smile.

Claudia was a lower level demon who was lucky to have landed a job working for Drake Masters.  Most demons of Claudia's level were in Hell putting coal on the fire.  He laughed at the thought.  "Yes Mr. Masters everything will be perfect." She said with her eyes kept on the floor.

"Drake, Claudia call me Drake Mr. Masters is my father do I look like my father?" he said playfully.

"No sir." she stuttered and began to nervously make the huge bed.

"Now where is that tailor?"  Almost on cue a very short human man that looked much like a pin cushion himself came trotting in through the grand doors.  He rested his hands on his knees breathlessly apologizing for being late.  He rambled on about why it took him so long to get there while he began fitting Drake in a gray silk suit shirt.  If the shirt was a shade darker, it would have matched the color of Drake’s eyes. "Ouch!"  The tailor had cut his finger.

"You seemed to have gotten blood on my shirt, that’s very disappointing indeed."  Drake never shouted but it was obvious he wasn’t pleased.  Every demon in the room turned to walk out some faster than others.  Claudia was the last to leave and shut the door behind herself.  Drake turned towards the man and he was sweating profusely.

"This might hurt just a little." Drake looked at the man and that was enough to scare the hell out of him, it was clear he was not human.  His face was the same but his eyes looked like black gold.  The tailor ran for the door only to be cut off by the demon lord. Drake shoved a fist through the man's chest.  It went in as easy as the needle had gone through the fabric of his expensive shirt.  As he held the man's heart in his chest he began to suck the soul from his jerking body.  It looked like a silver cloud flowing out of the man and into the demon.  Blood spewed from the tailors mouth all signs of existence drained from the fat man's eyes.  Drake withdrew his hand holding his heart. He took a bite of the bloody artery "I've got your heart and your soul." He smirked and called for Claudia.

"Fetch me a new tailor, get this one out of here.  Oh, and get this mess up.  I’ve got a date I have to get to." He felt much better.  A soul was always good for the nerves.

Drake was in an extremely good mood today; he decided to walk to Central Park instead of having his driver take him.  He picked up a single red rose on the way.  He wondered if she would recognize him and smirked, of course she would.  He strolled whistling into the park and followed the smell of her to a small field.  There were others here of course that would soon change.  There was a couple playing frisbee and another having lunch.  But there in the corner was a beautiful blonde young lady in a leather jacket and worn jeans.  He knew without seeing her, her eyes were the color of the ocean in the afternoon.  That her cheeks were naturally rosey and her lips pouty.  But it was not what he saw on the outside that kept him walking towards her.  It was the being that was inside of her, the one that no one else but him, understood.  She seemed lost in her thoughts staring at the large oak tree soaking in all its details.  He cleared his throat then knew that it was pointless to do so, just as he got within five feet she turned.  He went to introduce himself and offered his hand, she looked down and refused it. Drake was too shocked to be angry. Oh, she is feisty. He watched her as she walked for the cover of the trees.  Clearly she wants privacy.  Just as he got through the bush she did a three sixty.  This girl who stood no taller than 5’4’’ somewhat intimidated him and that was rare.  She is perfect.

"Who are you?" and if looks could kill, he would be dead.  If it were possible for a demon to die.

"Not exactly how I wanted to start this off. Im Drake Masters."  She didn’t seem very impressed which also shocked him.  Not only was he one of the three demon lords but he was a big name on wall street.  He straightened his suit and his hair and began again.

"Happy Birthday."  He presented her the rose and when she didn't take it he grabbed her hand and made her take it.  Patience was not one of Drake’s strong suits and this girl was testing it.  Who does she think she is?

"Do you know what’s wrong with me?" She asked with her arms crossed.

"Wr-wrong with you? Ha!  Excuse me here for just a second. I've been polite and told you my name and even brought you a gift and you haven't as much as told me yours. Most would find that insulting.  But, you want me to answer twenty-one questions?" She looked at him blankly, clenched her fist and started patting her thigh.

"You know my birthday..but not my name I find that hard to believe. Alyssa.  Okay, my name is Alyssa.  Now do you know anything or not?" She was clinching the petal part of the rose in her hand.

"Alyssa...I know everything about you."  He motioned to sit on the bench just at the truck of the tree.

She stomped and threw herself on the bench.  She most definitely is young and impatient.  " Do you," she coughed. "Do you know who my parents are?"

She was very blunt and to the point so he decided to be as direct as possible.

"Your fathers name is Lucien Mount your mothers name is Silvia Dawson, and instead of playing twenty-one questions won't you please allow me to tell you what I know.  If you have any questions when i'm finished, I will try my best to answer them."

She simply nodded in agreement.  He explained that she was special, one of a kind that her birth was a dark blessing.  She shifted her weight uneasy at hearing that she was a dark blessing but, she continued to listen.  Her father was the first of the demon lords.  He was sent from hell to bare a child that would be Lucifiers secret weapon in bringing forth the apocalypse.  He forced himself onto an unwilling woman, and because the conception was not of this world the fetus grew at an accelerated rate. It had not been forty-eight hours and Lucien watched as the woman screamed in agony from childbirth.  He stayed in the shadows watching the woman fight with herself, debating on killing the infant.  Alas, after hours she took her to an orphanage.

"Wa-wa-wait a second, you are telling me that i'm not only not human, but evil?" She laughed uncomfortably.

Drake watched her as if he missed the punch line in a miserable joke, this might be harder to get through then he had previously thought.

"Evil is just a point of view really, depending on which side you're on.  You Alyssa, you are a masterpiece." He motioned with his arms up and down.  She stood furious.

"What am I? Besides a product of rape and brutality?" She said through clenched teeth.

He watched as her astonishment turned into pure fury.  Drake's eyes widened, the anger inside of her was visible through her now ebony eyes.  What an amazing creature.  She is more than I could have hoped for.   She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.  He unconsciously took a large stride towards her.  She didn’t flinch, she reminded him of a lioness standing her ground.  He gently caressed her cheek with his palm and she swatted him away like an annoying fly still glaring waiting for his answer.

"A demon Ally and next to Lucifer you’re THE demon.  Your fate is to be the queen of darkness here on this plain, as is it mine to be your King."  Drake had never felt so proud and the more she resisted him the more he wanted her.

" Queen. Apocalypse. Yours. I don’t think so.  Why would I want to help bring about the apocalypse?  My father might be a demon, but my mother was human.  Part of me is still human. So don't sit there and start with this fate crap because I make my own fate.  I refuse to believe that this is the only way." She said it with full hearted conviction.

He saw that she wouldn't be going anywhere with him today. He reached into his back pocket and retrieved a business card with his address on it. He watched her put it in her jacket without looking at it.

"You'll see it my way soon enough." He made sure to put some acidity behind his words and his lips curled into a grin.

"Doubt it." she said sourly, then turned and walked away, he let her go.

"We shall see." He flipped open his phone and called his driver. He had a busy night ahead of himself and had no time to waste. Drake Masters was not used to, nor was he accepting of rejection.  He would have her, if it meant destroying everything in his way. He would force her to understand and once she did they would be unstoppable.  Now, he had to give her a little taste of what a demon lord was capable of.  Starting with The Precious Children Orphanage.
