“After multiple catastrophes all over the globe this morning, government officials are looking into possible terrorist activity. Conspiracy theorist are saying world war is eminent. Religious groups are speaking of end of days…”
Ally had passed out hard and must have slept away the afternoon. She awoke to the soft glow of the television. As soon as she stirred Drake turn it off, she was convinced he didn’t want her to hear it. He flipped on the reading lamp, rolled over and moved the hair from her face.
“Where’s Aj?” Ally was furious at herself for only now remembering.
“The little boy?” She felt his body tense up.
“Yes.” She sat straight up and through on her shirt. Turning towards him defenses on high.
“He was to be used as leverage.” He ignored her glare.
“Ok, leverage for what I’m here aren’t I? Now let me see him.” She was about to storm his castle if he did not deliver. “I will search this place room for room right fucking now.” Her nostrils flared and her eyes burned. That was something she would probably never get used to.
“Tsk. Tsk. That won’t be necessary I don’t think you’ll be running off now. I’ll see to it you will see him in the morning.” Drake put his hands behind his head and relaxed against the headboard.
Ally hated that she found him so attractive. Part of her was disgusted with herself and wanted to go scrub any proof of him off of her. But, she was on a mission at the moment and he wasn’t going to brush this off.
“You will let me see him now.” She wasn’t backing down.
“Ugh,” He rolled his eyes and sat up. “As you aren’t going to let me sleep without this. Let’s get it over with.”
She followed him to the door without even so much as throwing on her pants. A.j was probably terrified. Sitting in some dark room cold and alone. Drake opened the door and walked out past the guard.
“Master, your highness. Good evening. “He nodded at her as she walked past.
“Andre.” She nodded back. She thought she heard Drake smirk at her comment.
“Does he just stand there all day and night? Do I really need a guard? Am I a prisoner?” She scoffed.
He ignored her.
Damn these floors are cold I should have put some clothes on.
Drake wasn’t leading her down to some deep, dark dungeon. They didn’t even get on the elevator. He walked her down to the end of the hall and quietly cracked open a door. He peeked in and pushed the door open, stepping back so she could see passed him. The soft glow of the television showed the silhouette of a little boy, encircled with a dozen stuffed animals. She glanced over at Drake leaning against the door frame. He motioned her forward with his arm in a well aren’t you going to go in, manner.
Ally quietly walked up behind the preoccupied boy. She could smell his freshly bathed skin and his hair was still wet and combed over. She wanted to reach out to touch him to make sure he was real. She crouched down and put her hand on his shoulder. He didn’t jump like a scared child would. He simply turned his gaze.
“ALLY!!” he lunged almost bowling her over.
“Woooah, buddy. You’re gonna knock me over.” They both laughed.
“I didn’t think I would see you again! Did these people adopt you too?!” He had the biggest grin she had ever seen on his face.
“Drake Masters adopted you?” She was shocked.
Well if this isn’t a real life Annie story.
“Yeah! Aint it great! I get all the sweets I want, and he’s already got me so many toys! You wanna play?” He jumped up and ran over to a wooden toy box that was spewing toys from the top.
Drake came strolling in with his arms crossed.
“What’s your angle?” She confronted him, while A.J. dug through toys.
“Does there need to be one? He is important to you is he not?” His eyes seemed cold.
“And what, you’re letting me keep him as a pet? He doesn’t need to be involved in any of this.” She could feel her eyes burning.
“Would you prefer the latter? We both know what this world is facing.” He was dead serious at this point.
“So what,” she whispered. “This is your bargaining ship, your welcome home gift? Your you’re the reason everyone’s going to dye but, I’ll let you keep this one gift? What kind of world is going to be left for him?” She started getting louder. A.J. stopped pulling at toys and was now looking at them.
“Ally are you ok, you seem madder than normal.” He walked over and grabbed her hand.
“Yeah, buddy. I’m pissed.”
She couldn’t have imagined what happened next if she tried. It all happened so fast but seemed to move in slow motion. The television began to go fuzzy. She had a ringing in her ears and a trimmer took over her entire body. She had time to look at Drake, his face showed the same confusion. She managed to pull A.J in close to her and dove down to the ground. There was the feeling of an implosion and then instantly and explosion that sent the windows of the room flying in a million micro shards to the street below and on the floor.
Drake was also laying on the ground but ten feet away as if something had picked him up and thrown him. He sat up stunned and black was running out of his nose.
“What the f-” Drake touched the blood running down his face.
“Did I do that?” Ally asked exasperated. A.J. laid trembling beneath her.
“No that was not you, it was…” He stopped, and moved fast as the speed of light to her side. He snatched her and A.J up. His eyes turned black and he stared at the gaping hole that had been windows. She could only compare it to a wolf protecting its cubs. But it wasn’t protecting it was owning. In that moment Ally felt like an object.
A blinding light appeared and as the light died she could make out a figure. It was a massive and winged. A pair of human feet walked over the glass towards them and seemed to leave the owner unaffected. Ally instinctively put the little boy behind her and began walking away from what was now two men. A demon and a black winged angel.
“It was me, Gabriel. Leader of the army of heaven.” His voice boomed. She had never seen two better looking men in the same room.
“This ends here. This ends now.” He was shirtless and wore a pair of black pants.
“My god. Do any of you wear clothes?” Is all Ally managed to say. Neither deity looked her way.
“This doesn’t end well for your side Gabriel. It is fore told. You know it. I know it and your God knows it.” Drake boasted.
“No. But you need her for your plan to work serpent.” He pointed right at her. For the first time they locked eyes and she could see the earth and sky open in the sea of blue.
She felt a gust of wind and Drake had A.J. over the ledge. The little boy was dangling fearful for his life.
“You can’t save them both.” Drake snarled and let go.
She had never felt the feeling of flying, but she knew the feeling of falling all to well. Within a second she had thrown herself after A.J. His little body letting out a scream that she will forever hear in her nightmares. If she were to survive.
Let’s face it Alyssa. Neither you or him will survive this. At least it will be over and the world will survive because you are no longer the key to destruction.
Somehow she was able to grab his little hand and pull him close. The wind hurt falling from this high this fast.
Gravities a bitch.
She closed her eyes accepting her fate and then her stomach lurched. Then the feeling of falling turned into the feeling of flying. She was no longer cold. The wind was being shielded by Gabriel’s huge wings. A.J. looked up in wonder and Alyssa couldn’t bring her self to meet his gaze. The first time was enough. He could see right into her tortured soul and see the thing inside her. She looked towards the building where she had just been and could make out Drakes figure fading in the distance.
Hide me somewhere no one will find me.
Everything went black.
He was going to kill her, that was his plan. It was his plan up until he saw her without question through herself off that ledge after the little boy. For a brief second he considered just letting her splatter on the sidewalk below. It would end a war before it had even started. But by the grace of God he could not watch her parish. Not after being so self-less with her fragile existence at the sake of someone else’s. Now he held her and the little boy as he soared through the clouds. His plan now was to hide her as she asked from anyone who would be looking for her. I’m not sure how long that will work. He spotted a run-down wooden shack somewhere in middle of now where North Carolina. Landing at the front door he kicked it op
She had been here before in this dark miserable place. Now she stood in the middle of Central Park staring at the naked trees almost as if she could make the blossoms bloom. She knew that it wasn't just the park, that beyond the dead trees and overgrown grass the whole city would look just as void of life as these trees. She had an unmistakable knowledge that it was all her doing. That she was responsible for the death of millions of people. There seemed to be nothing she could do about it; it was her destiny to destroy this place and its people. After all they were only humans she should not pity them. They ha
Seventeen years three hundred and sixty-four days he spent waiting for her. Longer than that if you counted his days not on earth. But last night at midnight the wait was over. She had been there just where she was supposed to be, and just as the prophecy had said. Drake rolled over in his oversized bed covered in red egyptian cotton. It was all going to happen she was going to be his, for eternity. "Happy birthday Alyssa." he said to his empty room. She wouldn’t understand at first reasonably so but, she would come around and she would accept her destiny. It was long awaited, their union. He would meet her
Who the hell does he think he is? To invade her dreams was one thing. But to just assume that she would just agree to whatever apocalyptic Romero and Juliet thing he had in mind, well he had another thing coming. She might not have been woman of the year but she wasn’t going to be the reason the world ended. I am insane, Ally, you are completely mental. “Ha!” She snorted and covered her mouth as a passerby looked at her like she was well, mental. That does it. I am going back to the orphanage, packing my shit, and checking myself into the closest asylum. “This is all not happening. You are just a fucking nut case! See your talking to yourself.” Shaking her head, she kept walking. As she approached the orphanage she noticed it was dark not one light
Drake was prepared for a fight; he knew that Ally would be furious. He was well prepared to drag her from the home kicking and screaming. She may have even tried to call the cops. It wouldn’t matter. He was untouchable and above any kind of human law. He was not however prepared for her to be balled up in his arms looking to him for comfort. He had found her in the kitchen giving into her desires of the flesh. It gave him peace knowing she had found a second of happiness. It made him smile. When she turned to him with her tear soaked face, he felt something he had never felt before. He was ready to show her everything. He wanted to give her everything she wanted. As long as she played nice. If not, she wouldn’t really have a choice and things could get very unpleasant. He felt things could go either way at this point. He let her go first through the turn style like doors. Surprising enough she turned back to look at him as she walked. “Is this supposed to impress me?” she stopped suddenly. “For the mere price of your soul and the end of the human race, you to can live like a millionaire.” She sounded like Bob Baker. He let out a laugh. She was unamused. He could tell she was trying to act unimpressed. He prided himself in his labrish collection of artifacts from around the world. His building was designed with a mixture of Greek and Egyptian influence. “Well, some of the world’s most important world leaders have passed through these doors a
Ally awoke with a jolt, her body had felt like she had been falling from the top of a thirty floor building. She squinted to try to make out where she was in the dark room. The sheets covering her were the softest she had ever felt. Placing her feet on the ground the floor was freezing and she got an instant chill. She wanted nothing more than to climb back in bed and pull the covers over her head. But she wanted to know where she was. The slightest leak of sunlight peaked through a sliver in the floor to ceiling blackout drapes. She embraced herself and tried to rub the goosebumps away as she walked to the window. She threw the drapes back and was met with the familiar site of the city, only from a much higher view. It was beautiful from up here. The room was really impressive. Drake had been informed by security that Ally was awake and trying to leave. He wasn’t holding her against her will. He felt they were past that. But it did sting a bit that she indeed wanted to leave. He was again prepared for some childlike tantrum as he walked in the room. Instead he was met with her beauty and then her power. He had been convinced he would have to help her lock into it. But as it seems, Alyssa was perhaps the only person or demon that had ever been a step ahead of him. She had brought down a plane with just her will for it. He felt unsure for the first time in his existence in how to deal with something. She was a mixed cocktail of emotions and he could tell the human part of her was struggling to hold on. This event may have been just what he needed to win her over. &n
