When I opened my eyes and saw my mate, the last time I expected him to say was “There was another bear attack within the pack” but that’s exactly what he said and because of that we were in the helicopter at two am going to his best friend’s parent’s house.

Helaine had wanted to come with us but Bernardo told her he couldn’t have her be in danger on her first day and that she should be on her phone. If we need her help, we would call her. Damien wasn’t looking good, each time my eyes went in his direction, he had a distant look in his eyes with his fist clenched tight.

I could feel the fear of losing his parents radiating from him. I didn’t know what it was like to have parents but I couldn’t wish it on any other person. Losing the people that birthed you wasn’t funny especially when their death isn’t of natural cause.
