“Where?” I whispered as I looked around my surroundings—where was I? There were people behind the woman who stood in front of me; they were seated as if they were part of a council of some sort.
Oh no, am I about to be a sacrifice?
“Nioz, my child,” she smiled, and my smile slowly grew as I stared at her. I chuckled and scratched my head.
I was a sacrifice, wasn't I? She referred to me as 'child', and I sat in the middle of the room, half-naked with my breasts spilling over the top of my satin nightdress.
“It’s either I am dead, or I am dreaming, because I don’t know who you are and where I am,” I said and she shook her head smiling.
“You are in Nioz, a planet in a different realm than the one you’re from, Earth, I believe it is called,” she explained, and that had me convinced she was crazy. I laughed and clapped my hands.
“Did Frank break into my apartment and take me into an asylum because I was seeing black butterflies?” I asked the woman.
She was wearing a long red dress that reached her feet; her black hair was tied in such an elegant manner that it made me believe she was an important figure. She had a kind of supremacy aura coming from her. Her eyes were a light shade of purple, and her kind smile was relaxing but freaking me out as well.
I was a young black woman who lived alone and had a fast mouth at times. So this was freaking me the fuck out.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t know a Frank and black butterflies, you say? How often have you been seeing them?”
“Lady, the way you’re being so soft is scaring me. Who are you?” I stood up on shaky legs, taking a step back, and she smiled, giggling a bit.
“My apologies, my name is Nyleve Acula; I am—” loud footsteps rang across the hall. I stared at where the sound was coming from, noting the architectural structure of the hall. It was magnificent; the spiral pillars led my eyes up to the arches that featured some designs. It seemed ancient and foreign to me, but it was still beautiful.
“Mother, why was I summoned?” I heard the voice I never thought I would hear again—I hoped I would—but heck! “What is she doing here?” He asked as he pointed an accusing finger at me. I frowned and looked at him from the corner of my eye.
He has a nasty attitude.
“That’s what we’re trying to figure out, asshole,” I said, crossing my arms over my chest. “Lady, this is your son?” I pointed to Miall, and his growl
vibrated the room; what the heck?“She’s Luna Acula to you,” he roared, and I stared at him. Is that like a queen?
“I don’t know her!” I replied. “And who do you think you’re talking to like that? You better watch your tone around me.”
“And you better watch yours around me too; you don’t know me,” he said dangerously low as he stared me down.
“Who do you think you’re intimidating? Just because we’re in front of your mother doesn’t mean I won’t beat your ass,” I said, stepping closer to him. The height difference was real between us, and here I was threatening a man who could—did—toss me like a lightweight.
“I would love to see you try, human,” he said, and I cocked my head to the side.
“What, like that word is supposed to make me feel weak? I will hurt you; don’t tempt me,” I said.
“Yes, you are weak,” he whispered, and that was when I noticed his canines protruding out of his mouth. What did that mean?
“MIALL!” His mother shouted as she clapped her hands at him.
“What the fuck?” I whispered, trying to register what that was. His teeth shrunk back into his mouth, and I was not about to let him feel like he won because he bared his teeth.
This is about to be the stupidest thing I've ever done.
“What? Because your teeth can come out of your mouth makes you think I am scared of you? Fucking dog,” I whispered, and I turned around to face his mother. He grabbed my arm so painfully that I thought it would fall off. I knew I fucked up, but I wasn't one to give up. "Hey—"
“Miall, she’s pregnant!”
“What?” We said simultaneously as our heads snapped toward his mother, pulling us out of our fierce staring contest.
"Huh? Who’s pregnant?” I asked as I tried to pry myself away from his hold, but it got tighter, and it felt like nails were digging into my arm. “Do you mind!?” I screamed at Miall, and he let go.
“You are Amanah. You’re pregnant with Miall’s child,” she said, still smiling.
“Ahaha, no, I’m not,” I shook my head.
“No, she isn’t,” he said after me, and I looked at him from the corner of my eye. Was this the same man I wanted to have the whole friends with benefits thing with? His being here annoyed me, and I really wanted to hurt him.
“Yes, you are, child,” she said, walking closer to me. “You’re pregnant with my grandchild,” she spoke softly as she gently touched my belly and warmth spread throughout my body.
I haven’t had my period in at least five weeks; I dismissed that with the fact I had been under a lot of stress lately. I had been eating foods with kidneys. I loathe kidneys. There was also the sudden sweet tooth I had.
“Oh God,” I whispered, covering my mouth. “I am pregnant,” I said as if I was confirming. “I’m pregnant!”
“Yes,” she said, wrapping her arms around my body. I was still shocked by the sudden revelation; how could I have not seen this or suspected it? How ignorant am I? “Let me see your marking,” she whispered as she pulled away and I looked at her confused.
“Where he bit you when you were—” she waved her hands, and I was embarrassed, to say the least. Usually, I wouldn’t feel embarrassed, but seeing how this woman treated me made me shy. It must be weird for the parent to know her son is nasty.
“Oh! Here,” I touched my neck. I did think it was a bit weird that he bit me while he was climaxing, but it was not as if I didn’t enjoy it. I climaxed again with him.
“I didn’t mark her,” he said, and his mother looked at him. He immediately kept quiet.
“You know, in our pack, a female can only get pregnant if she’s marked during intercourse. You marked her; she became pregnant!” Pack?
“She could have slept with someone else after me, mother.”
“I am not some whore who sleeps with just about anyone. I didn’t sleep with anyone else after you,” I said angrily; I felt immensely disrespected.
“Then you were already pregnant when we slept together,” he accused, and I was past my boiling point.
What the fuck?
“You dog! I haven’t slept with anyone besides you since I was raped when I was sixteen!” I burst out and looked away from him once I saw the pity settle in his eyes after hearing what I said. I crossed my arms over my chest and took a deep breath in. “Your mother says it’s yours and the facts say it’s yours, now stop provoking me.”
I was too comfortable; I still didn't know where I was or who was in the room with me.
We finally sat down in front of the ‘council’, and Nyleve sat right in the middle of the council. She still kept her kind smile. Miall sat next to me, and his knees knocked the table from underneath, and besides the fact that I was pissed, it did manage to make me laugh. He's huge.
“Are you okay, Amanah?” Nyleve asked, and I laughed softly as I nodded.
“Yes, your son is a giant,” I said as I pushed the table forward so he could sit much more comfortably. “Stretch out your legs, idiot,” I spoke softly, and he stared at me before slowly stretching out his legs with a satisfied sigh. “Sorry.”
I apologised to the council, who looked annoyed that I had interrupted their ‘briefing’.
“We may continue,” Nyleve said. Even though I had been here for a few hours, it hadn't registered to me that I was in a room full of men in a short nightdress. Turns out men are the same everywhere. I hated the stares I was receiving, but there was not much I could do.
I placed my hands on my thighs to hide as much as I could, but it was a wasted effort. Maybe I shouldn’t have pushed away that table because Miall was uncomfortable. I was comfortable then, but right now, all I wanted to do was curl up into a ball and hide, and it’s all because of how that mean-looking man kept looking at me.
I saw the jacket on my lap, covering my legs. I looked over at Miall and saw him taking off his shirt. Oh.
“Why are you taking off your clothes, Alpha?” the same man who stared me up and down asked. Miall growled as he put his shirt over my shoulder.
“The mother of my child is feeling cold,” he glared at the man, and I smiled as I buttoned up his shirt. Ooh, this man smells really good, and was that acceptance?
“That doesn’t excuse the fact you are undressing in front of the councillors,” he said, and I scoffed as I finished.
“Pervert,” I whispered.
“Did you say something?” The man asked, and I raised my head, cocking my head to the side.
“Hmm? Did you hear me say something?” I questioned as I felt my confidence come back. Heck, he made me feel so uncomfortable; I felt inferior.
“Yes, I am quite sure I heard you whisper the word pervert.”
“Me? I would never say something so true,” I giggled, and he clenched his jaw as Miall chuckled.
“Human,” he growled, and I scoffed. Why do they all growl?
“Luna Acula, you were saying?” I looked at her, and she smiled back, seeming amused by the ordeal.
“Thank you, Amanah; you must stay here while pregnant. Believe it or not, this is the first time an Alpha from our pack has impregnated a human who wasn’t his mate, so we need to take care of you and watch over your pregnancy.”
Wait what? A human who wasn't his mate? I deduced that they weren't human, but what was growing inside me?
“Once you have given birth, you will return to Earth, leaving behind the pup,” the pervert said, and I shook my head. Pup?
“Unacceptable, my child goes where I go,” I crossed my arms over my chest. “And if you will be needing me to go back to Earth once I have given birth, my child will go back to Earth with me.”
“You won’t be able to raise the pup in your home grounds, especially with such power soaring through his veins!”
“It's a baby; why do you keep referring my child to a puppy?” I asked, and it seemed the question made them feel uncomfortable.
“Because he is the child of our alpha."
“Regardless, the child is mine, and they will leave with me!” I said, staring at the council. They looked surprised, while the ones who wanted to take my child from me looked furious. Boo-fucking-hoo.
“You surely don’t think I would let you take my child away from me, do you?” Miall asked, and I looked at him, resisting the urge to lick my lips. His neck, the collarbone, that chest fuck!
“And you surely don’t think I would leave my child, do you?”
“Regardless of the decision the two of you come to by the end of this, it is up to you." Nyleve possibly stopped an argument that was about to happen. "Amanah, do you agree to stay here while pregnant?” Nyleve asked me, and I shrugged.
“I don’t mind at all,” I smiled at her. I just wanted to spite Miall as much as possible. “Given the condition that if I want to go home, I will be allowed to do so whenever I want. No isn't an answer.”
Nyleve smiled and pointed to Miall. “Alpha, you have to answer,” Miall stared at me as if he was ready to say no. I raised my eyebrow, and he sighed.
“Granted,” he mumbled, and I smiled happily.
“Cool, is the meeting dismissed?” I looked around the room.
“Yes, but aren’t you going to ask what we are?” Nyleve asked, and I stood up, still holding onto Miall’s jacket, making sure it didn't fall off.
“Well, from what I have seen and heard. You're definitely not human, and because he growls a lot," I pointed to Miall, and he rolled his eyes. "And bites, that would mean you're Werewolves, no?”
“Aren’t you scared?” She asked, and I cocked my head to the side, smiling.
“I’m hoping Alpha Miall wouldn’t let anything happen to the human woman who’s carrying his pup,” I used some of their words, and she smiled, both amused and impressed.
“Believe so, Amanah,” she had such a gentle nature; it’s crazy. As for Miall, he really was something different. Almost like he didn't know his mother.
“You don’t have to act so smart about it,” Miall stood up and stared down at me. Man, I would let him hit again without hesitation, right here, right now!
“Don’t be an asshole if you want us to get along; it’s going to be a long nine months,” I whispered, smiling, and he smirked. Why is he smirking?
“You’ll be pregnant for six.”
EXCUSE ME?
Miall“Don’t scare the girl, Miall. Show her around her new home,” my mother said, and Amanah still looked shocked at what she had heard. How did this happen?“Wait, will I really be pregnant for six months only?” she pulled on the jacket that was around her shoulders.“Well, for only five now, so your time is almost up,” I crossed my arms over my chest, and my mom slapped my head. “What did you do that for!” I yelped, and she ground her teeth together.“I said stop scaring the girl,” she said in a low voice, glaring at me.“Last I checked, I was the Alpha of this pack,” I grumbled, rubbing my head; it didn’t hurt, but it did sting. My mother raised her eyebrow at me and said,“Alpha to who?” That scary face was replaced with a kind smile as she looked at Amanah. “We don’t know for sure yet since this is the first time it’s happened in our pack.” “Oh,” she breathed, and a smirk grew on her face. “That would still be enough time for me either way,” she said. “I’ve heard that pregnancy
AmanahOnce I was sure Miall had left the house, I left that dry-ass room for his spacious one. I took a shower in his bathroom and graciously borrowed his shirt. Feeling clean and refreshed, I went to get something to eat from his kitchen. This was a massive mistake because I had no idea what all this was. His freezer was mainly stocked with red meat, but I had no idea what animal that came from or what any item in this fridge came from. Where's my guide when I need him?I certainly didn’t trust the milk because what fucking animal was this on the packaging? I opened up his cabinet drawers and found something I was sure was from Earth. He had all sorts of snacks that I wasn't very familiar with, but I still decided to eat them either way. I contemplated pouring a glass of water, but then again, the lake was purple. Perhaps that was the safest?I climbed up the stairs with my arms filled with snacks, kicked open his bedroom door, well, my new bedroom door and skipped to his bed after
I woke up alone in the bed, and as much as I hated to admit it, I kind of thought I’d find Miall next to me, but he wasn’t. Another one-night stand, how exciting. With a shrug, I got off the big bed and made my way downstairs after doing half of my hygiene morning routine. My first night in Nioz wasn't so bad, it was quite warm, to be honest, but it wasn't home.Perhaps I could ask Miall to help me make my stay much more comfortable; after all, I was pregnant with a child. AHHH! HOW COULD I FALL PREGNANT? On my way to asking Miall millions of questions, I heard talking. I was not a wolf or anything superb, but I did have good hearing, and I knew what sounded like a woman giggling in the kitchen. He sleeps with me and makes a woman laugh the next morning? What a smooth man.I slowly walked into the kitchen and none of them acknowledged my presence as they talked to each other with stupid smiles plastered on their faces. All giggly and hearty eyes, I don't like that. Miall was shirtless
I walked into the packhouse with Willow's hand in mine when I the laughter from the kitchen welcomed us. She's here. Entering the kitchen, I found my mother, Malakhi, and Amanah having a blast together, as if they had always been the closest.Amanah looked very different from when she left the house. She had changed into an oversized hoodie and a pair of tights. She sat beside Malakhi, facing my mother as she talked to them. Was she wearing Malakhi's hoodie? That wasn't the point, and I had been an ass to let her leave the house crying.“Oh, hi there,” my mother said sweetly, raising her mug to her lips.Shit. “I’m going to kill you,” she said through the mind link, and I smiled as I waved my hand. Of course, I'm in trouble again.“Hi, everyone,” I greeted softly, and it seemed my presence had turned the room grim. Amanah just stared at us before turning around to face my mother. “Hey,” Malakhi bit out and faced away as well. “Oh, come on, don’t tell me you’re mad too?” I asked him
“This is your place?” Malakhi asked as he looked around my small apartment. “It’s tiny,” he grimaced, and I threw a pillow at him.“Not all of us are friends with royalty,” I said, and Malakhi laughed. “Now help me pack,” I stood on my toes, trying to reach for my bag, but of course, with his help, I was easily handed my bag. He was handy.“Do you promise to show me around once we’re done?” He asked with a puppy dog look, and I rolled my eyes, pushing him away from me. Nyleve was right, this man was a sucker for Earth.“Only if you help me, which you are not doing,” I took out my clothes from the closet, and he chuckled as he helped me pack up some stuff. Malakhi was a pretty funny person, or wolf, should I say. After he found me crying outside, which was very dramatic, he took me to the Pack House, where Nyleve lived. She was kind enough to give me her hoodie and pants. While we sat together, they made me feel better after the whole shit show with Miall and his girlfriend, whose na
"How many days?" I tilted my head to the side, and Frank sighed as he let me go.“Amanah, three days! Without texting me, calling or emailing me! Do you have any idea how worried I was?”“It can’t be a week. I’m pretty sure I saw you just yesterday when you let me knock off early,” I said, and Frank looked surprised. “Are you sure you’re okay?” I asked as I put my hand on his forehead.“I’m too sober for this,” he raised his hands as he walked towards the bar. “She’s been gone for three days and then asks if I’m okay,” he muttered. Malakhi tapped on my shoulder, and I turned to look at him.“Time works differently on Nioz. The days are longer there; you have been gone for three days, Ama,” he spoke softly, and I parted my lips as I stared at him, shocked. What the heck? Three days was not equal to just a few hours. How was this possible? But then again, I had just crossed the realm and was pregnant by a wolf.“Frank,” I spoke softly as I approached the bar. “Do you need me to work for
“Why do you smell like another man?”“Is that what you seriously came here for?” I asked him as I picked up the pillow and climbed onto the bed. Crap, and to think I was ready to drop my chemise for him.“No, I came to see you, but I can smell him on you,” he said, his teeth slowly inching out.“Are you trying to scare me into answering you?” I crossed my arms over my chest. “And I bathed; how much of a wolf can you be?” I asked.“I’m sorry, but I am not a wolf. I told you I am a Lycan, nothing like that weak excuse of a beast,” he grumbled, and I laughed.Orion was funny. During the time I spent with him on the first day, he wouldn’t stop going on and on about how powerful he was and how lucky I should feel that he chose me.Chose me to be miserable!“So you admit they are beasts?” I giggled, and he looked at me with a shrug.“Have you seen how ugly they are? That’s why I refuse to ever take on that form,” he said arrogantly yet proudly.“I think they’re cute, probably nice to hug,” I
Miall“Sit,” an asshole? She thought I was being an asshole? Who does she think she is talking to me like that? I watched her as she pulled out the chair for me and pointed at it without looking at me, and yet I felt compelled to listen to her.I skipped the chair she had pulled out for me, and she smiled. I sat down and crossed my arms over my chest. She giggled and covered her lips; my eyes immediately looked at them, and I sighed, annoyed.“You’re such a big baby,” she laughed, and my mother joined her.“He is my big baby boy,” she kissed my cheek, and I groaned, wiping my face.“Mom!” I whined, and Amanah laughed even harder. “And I’m an Alpha, not a baby,” I said, and Amanah nodded her head.“Yeah, a baby alpha,” she mocked, and they laughed even harder. It was nice listening to them laugh instead of complaining; ever since she got here, I didn’t feel so guilty.“Whatever, let's just eat,” I said, grabbing my fork, and Amanah stopped my hand.“Don’t you guys say grace?” She asked,
