Not being able to hold herself she got up.
"I'm sorry but I'm not feeling so fine, please excuse me," she bowed and slipped through the door as fast as she could.
Thankfully she saw the bathrooms at the far end, she touched her stomach and started walking towards the bathroom.
"Since everything is done and we have reached an agreement, the meeting is over, excuse me," Damian got up and rushed after her.
"He ran to her and got there before she reached the bathroom,"
"Use that," he handed her his jacket.
"Why?"
"You are on your menstrual and technically you have stains on your dress," he said bluntly.
"What! I'm so sorry for embarrassing you. Go back to the meeting, I will be fine,"
"I'll take you home,"
"No, I have to go to the mall," she winced in pain.
With each passing minute, the pain increased and she nolonger had the energy to stand.
"Sure, let's go," he helped her to the elevator and she didn't put up a fight, she didn't have the energy at that time, they will fight later.
She laid at the back seat and finally fell asleep. He parked the car outside the mall, went in and picked a packet from every type as he didn't know what she uses then drove home.
He carried her in his arms and headed inside.
"Fiona, bring me the bag in the car," He instructed getting inside.
Fiona rushed out and was surprised to see a full bag of sanitary towels, as she got to the door Lena blocked her way.
"What's that?"
"I should tell you as who?"
"What is going on in this house, people are just changing," Lena complained.
"Nothing has changed, did you want him to carry you? I know you have never been in love so you won't understand how to be in love. One advice, don't allow yourself to be a third party among two people who are in love, you will die. Get out of my way," Lena clenched her fists and got out of the way to allow her go in.
He brought her to his room and laid her on the bed then went to the bathroom to prepare hot a bath for her.
"Sir, here is the bag," Fiona announced entering the room.
"Place it on the bed, then get her some clothes from her room," he instructed as he headed to wake her up.
He tapped her several times waking her up.
Lena entered their quarters locked the door then took her phone to call Ivy to report what she just saw.
"I told you not to be calling me anyhow, you will get caught," Ivy complained.
"There is a big problem,"
"Which is?"
"I don't think this marriage was arranged as we thought, he just arrived with her in his arms and she was asleep, who knows where they are coming from,"
"What!"
"He has never raised his voice at her, yesterday they arrived at eight and he didn't say a word,"
"I'm sure the marriage was planned, just stick to the plan,"
"Ok," she hanged up, hid her phone and went outside only to bump into Nora who gave her questioning eyes and walked past her going inside.
Jayden threw the phone across the room frustrated, this is the fifth day since the incident and all effort to get Ariel have proven futile.
He found out the photos and video were sent to her and he really wanted to explain everything to her but her phone hasn't been going through.
"She called and I just thought it wise as a good friend to tell her why you couldn't talk to her at that moment," Beth's words kept on ringing in his mind making him go crazy.
He hated himself for allowing that bitch in his house in the first place, to top it up he ate her food, she sounded so convincing, who would have known that the food was drugged.
Since he chased her out of the house, he hasn't seen her and the last thing he wants is to see her as he wouldn't be responsible for what will happen to her.
He sat on the bed and picked the photo they took together on their second year anniversary, remembering all the happy moments they spent together, and the promises they made to each other but he broke everything.
"I'm sorry," he screamed as his voice echoed in the room.
Since that day pain and agony has become part of him.
Damian parked his car at a distance, removed his mask to avoid people from noticing him and walked into the cemetery.
It was getting dark already and the party at the company was already on but he wasn't interested in going.
Every month on the fifteenth he always came to the cemetery and today won't be an exemption.
He got to the grave, threw away the old flowers and placed fresh ones then sat there.
"Sheena Easton, 1975-2013," was written on the stone.
"You know I got married last week. It was arranged I don't know why he insisted I get married to her. You said I should move on but I don't think I can forgive him. I'm just doing my best to burry everything. My wife, that's the only good thing he has ever done for me. I told you I will never get married till I meet someone like you, she's like you. You remember today is my birthday? I can't celebrate because it's the same day you were killed," chuckles bitterly.
"I will find the murder now that I'm married it's time I face my fears and past. You said I should only go to see her with my wife, though she's stubborn just like you, I will go with her," he paused and looked at the sky, it was dark, it was coming coming to rain.
"It's coming to rain, but I will still spend time with you,"
At a distance were two men dressed in black with masks watching him.
"Who is that guy? Last time we came he was also there," Leon said to his master but he didn't reply.
"Which grave were we going to sir?" Leon asked after a while.
"It's occupied, it's coming to rain, let's get out of here," he said coldly and turned starting to walk away.
Leon sighed and walked after him. Nobody can understand the Lillard family. Last year they came to the cemetery and met the same stranger seated at that grave, they watched him like some sort of movie and walked away today to.
He really wanted to know who the guy was, why he was seated there, who was buried in that grave, how was he or she related to the Lillard?
Leon had so many questions and decided to come back later to find out out of curiosity. He has been working for the family for three years and it's the strangest family he has ever known all her life. Seems like everyone is hiding his or her own secret.
Lillard the second got home and went to his mother's room.
"Were you able to see her?" She asked immediately he entered the room.
"He was there already, I couldn't get closer,"
"Does he know?"
"I don't know, he has never said anything,"
The old woman sighed.
The clouds were dark, the wind was too much not talking of the cold but he wasn't back. Ariel kept on looking through the window if his car was coming in that she forgot her pain, then rain started to fall adding to her worries. She wore her slippers and headed downstairs, maybe she can get a way of finding him on phone. If not for anything, the fact that he has been treating her well made her worried about him. Everyone was asleep so she sat on the couch and picked the remote. It was almost midnight and the rain had reduced when she heard a car enter the compound and she yawned getting up from the couch, she was so tired and needed rest to help with her cramps. She headed to the door and opened just as he was looking for his keys. He was soaked with water that the water was dropping from his clothes. "Welcome," she said stepping aside for him to come in and he just nodded. He was trembling from the cold and his shirt was stuck on his body, revealing his six packs. He looked
Breakfast was brought to his room and they both had breakfast there even though she didn't eat freely, she quite of felt a bit safe with this side of him. "It's getting late, you should go to work already," she urged putting together the dishes to take them to the kitchen. "I'm not going to work, are you feeling strong? I want to take you somewhere," "I don't mean to be rude to you but did your fever get into your head?" She questioned. If the sickness got into his head then he needs urgent medical attention before he loses his mind. "Meaning?" "You want to take me out, it sounds like a sentence in a soap opera right? What if we get there then you remember we are to stay in our lanes?" She arched her brows and he sighed. "We are still in our own lanes, and about arguing while there, then I promise not to argue with you today so can we go?" "Can you remove the mask, I want to see the face of the person I'm going to walk with just Incase things g
Walking down the aisle, tears dropped from her eyes. "I don't have time to waste," he replied in a cold voice and she slowly walked to him. His voice alone scares her and the thought of her spending even a month let alone a lifetime, scares the hell out of her. She never thought her mom was heartless till yesterday, maybe she never really loved her as she claimed. After he was done she slowly walked to the bathroom not uttering a word. He picked back his laptop as his phone started to ring. He sighed, just the person he wanted to talk to at the moment. "Dad of all women in this world you picked this crazy one as my wife?" He questioned raising his voice which attracted Ariel. She walked to the door to eavesdrop to the conversation. "You should be grateful to her. Because of her accepting to marry you the Lillard group of companies will be handed to you as the new director," His dad replied. "I'm supposed to be worshiping her now? "Come in," Jayden replied after the knock was planted on the door. Beth walked into the room with a tray of food and placed it on the lampstand. "I cooked and it would be bad if I eat alone and not share with you yet I used your things to prepare the food. I didn't cook much but I will appreciate if you have a taste," she said with a smile. "I'm not that hungry, I ate at an eatery on my way home," he told her. "The more reason why I served just a small portion of the food. I knew you must have planned yourself, just have a taste please," she pleaded. "If that will make you happy," he shrugged and took the tray. It was dark but the lights in the compound somehow covered everything up. She would be lying if she said didn't have fun because she had fun.
