Chapter sixty Three

ALEXANDER'S POV

I was standing staring out of the long plate-glass window of my twelve-story office when the intercom on the desk behind me emitted a low buzz.

Signing, I turned away from the view of the rain-wet Carolina streets and strode across the wide expanse of dark blue broadloom to depress the button that connected me with my assistant next door. "Yes, James?" "What is it this time? " I asked shortly. Not welcoming the I corruption James cleared his throat before replying.

"There's a woman out here saying she wants to see you", he said momentarily stunning me into deep silence. 'I told her you were busy but she insists that she will see you". He paused. "Will you? ".

"James don't be an idiot, you didn't ask her name and you dare to call me? ". I tried to sound harsh enough. There are boundaries between work and play time so everyone working under me must know that. During work time I do not entertain jokes.

"it's that what I pay you to do behind that desk? ".
