Chapter 98: The Oil Painting

Prisley seemed especially busy lately. Even though the joint venture company had little work, she always looked tense and was deep in thought.

The delivery guy had been bringing packages to her office more frequently.

At lunch, Steve joked, "Prisley, why are you always eating so quickly and looking mysterious? What are you up to?"

Prisley smiled and said, "It's a secret. I can't tell you."

Everyone knew she was busy but no one knew what she was actually doing. Employees whispered in the break room, guessing at her secret.

When Prisley first came to the company, Mark had arranged to partition off a small space in her office for her to rest. So, even if someone came by to find her, they could only see a corner of her office; the space inside was completely hidden.

“Mark, can you pick me up after work?” Prisley’s voice was so sweet it made Mark's heart melt. She had never asked him to pick her up before.
