Chapter 99: The Family Dinner

"Mark... can I skip it?" Prisley’s voice was hesitant, her expression a little uneasy. She looked down, avoiding his gaze.

Mark didn’t notice her discomfort, still caught up in the excitement of the upcoming family gathering. "Why not? Everyone will be there tomorrow. I want to officially introduce you to them." His eyes sparkled with anticipation.

Prisley hesitated. "No... it's not a good idea... I don’t want to make things difficult for you."

"I don’t care what my parents think. I just want to be with you. Tim can take on the family responsibilities; they can’t force me to marry someone just to satisfy them."

Prisley sighed. She didn’t want to upset Mark at this moment. If she had to go, she would. Whatever happened, she’d deal with it then.

"Alright... I’ll go tomorrow."
