Chapter 67:  Complaints

“Is this the kind of garbage you call a report?”

The atmosphere outside the investment manager's office was heavy and suffocating. Employees tiptoed past, careful not to provoke the manager's wrath.

The scolding from inside cut through the air like a cold blade, straining everyone’s nerves.

A tall young man stood nervously before the new manager, Fila. His hands were clenched, knuckles white from pressure. His eyes were filled with defiance. He had to bow his head and endure the humiliation.

Fila's tirade was relentless. It rained down like a storm. She had been berating Bob for almost half an hour.

“Fix this report by the end of the day. If it’s still not right, you can resign!”

Bob wiped the sweat from his forehead. He walked out of the office, his eyes full of resentment. Outside, a few colleagues stopped him. They whispered, “What happened, Bob?” careful not to upset him.
